The location is excellent - just a short walk to the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is elegant, clean, and well-maintained, with spacious rooms and lovely views. The staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and we especially appreciated the warm welcome and smooth check-in process. The variety of food at the buffet was impressive, with something for everyone, and everything was fresh and delicious. We also loved the daytime activities - big water slides (with a separate pool for them), archery, billiards, table tennis, and more. There’s no time to be bored here! Whether you’re into games, water fun, or just sunbathing, everyone can find something to enjoy. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Golden Sands. Great place with extremelly spacious rooms, a place where the concept “All Inclusive” stands out:the food it’s available all day long, the most important place in the building(the bar, ofcourse) also available till midnight with a wide variaty of drinks for everyone; guarded underground parking and loads of things to do inside & outside of the hotel plus everyone was so attentive(starting with the ppl from reception, bar & dinning area too). Every night around 20.30 they’ve had a 30’ show for kids(dancing&singing) where after 21.00 the adults show came into action and you would’ve been entertain by the host till almost midnight. Strongly recommend Melia Grand Hermitage and we would gladly return here with pleasure.

Staff, the general e atmosphere for kids.

Paid parking spots. No sun-beds available on the private beach! I had to put my towel on the sand to stay on the beach, embarrassing for a 5 star hotel! Old furniture in the room, the bathroom smelled urine when entering the room. The balcony was ugly and the seaview I paid was a partial sea-view (mostly pool and trees view).

Everything, the room was nice and spatious and very clean. The hotel, pools and exterior spaces very well maintained. The food was diverse and fresh. The staff was amazing and did a great job to entertain us and the kids. The ilusionism performance was amazing and funny. It really felt like we were stealing, we should have paid good money for the show. We will surely return there.

Cleanliness in the bathrooms, and pools. The food was very good. The staff friendly. The showerlotion R. green, very fine. I appreciate the fact that the swimming pool areas were daily cleaned. The green garden around is very nice. The Level room is very big. I appreciate that were no bad odor in the bathroom. The ice cream, the sandwich and pizza the snacks offered very good. The meals very tastefull, especially in the level area, where was offered even champagne.

Some aspects in the restaurant can be improved the floor, the furniture. I mean the differences between Level restaurant C floor level compared with the restaurant from R floor.

The food was delicious, and the entertainment staff were excellent. Super friendly and helpful, with plenty of activities for both adults and children. The entertainment staff truly made our stay enjoyable. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The Chef in the restaurant made an effort to meet with the guests and collect feedback. He quickly remembered us and made sure even to bring us extra desserts, if they had finished, before we could try them. The restaurant staff quickly remembered us, too, and every day gave us baby food before we even asked for it. A great variety of food, all of high quality. The property has beautiful green areas that really make a difference in the hot weather or if you would like to take a short stroll with your baby or children.

There were only two things: 1. The staff was not monitoring the beach policy, and guests were sometimes saving 10-15 chaise longues at the beach for hours without using them. Same at the pool area. 2. Some of the waiting and cleaning staff in the restaurant are not Bulgarian, and they don't speak European languages, or if they do, very little, which makes the communication with them difficult, even between the staff. Saying that, they were all very polite, smiley and helpful, making full attempts to communicate in whatever language they do know, or with hand gestures if needed. But maybe the hotel could offer language courses to the staff; it would benefit all parties.

The food was really good and diverse. We had The Level, so we experienced both the regular buffet and the one dedicated to our booking. The Level cocktails are superior to the regular ones at the pool/beach. We have a small kid, so we couldn’t take advantage of all The Level perks, but if you come without kids or with older than 4-5 years kids, I recommend The Level. Otherwise, the regular pools were enough for us and our kid. Very nice evening activities. The staff is very happy and friendly, especially at the burger place and buffet. The room is spacious, and the view is really nice (The Level rooms have full view to the pool and sea).

It was not an issue for us, but for people who can’t walk too much it can be difficult. Melia is a resort, so it takes a lot of space for pools, stages, places to eat near the pools. The place is on a hill and all the activities are down the hill, ending with the sea/private beach. It’s quite a hike to get to the beach and back. Of course, like in all places nowadays, people “reserve” their seats at the pool/beach at 7-7:30. The Level pool always has empty chairs, but it depends on where you want to stay. But this also happens in the Caribbean, so you can’t say/do anything but comply to the situation.

The staff was very friendly and the food selection was varied. There were a lot of things to do in the hotel, diverse activities for all ages.

In the restaurants, there were no labels indicating the ingredients of the food, especially potential allergens. No options were provided for certain intolerances, such as lactose. Even though the food was very tasty, there were very few healthy options (e.g. food that was not full of fat, or deep fried)

Everything was perfect: the staff who helped us to park immediately we arrived (11 am), the meals which were very tasty, cleaned room, the short way to the private beach (to take the lounge chair, my husband had to go early in the morning), the cofee and champagne from The Cafe Roma, the icecream in hot moments, the sliding for fun. Thank you, Melia, for everything!

I think that Melia has to work more for having entertainment in the evening
