Overall excellent. Real atmosphere - very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast every morning was on from 6am to 9am. This set us up for the day. Really appreciated! Bathroom large with excellent shower - an important aspect in such a hot climate place. Staff gave us a ground floor room to avoid difficulties for us with the stairs. An amazing large hand painted may of the area is on the reception area wall - plus a selection of shared books for anyone to use sitting on the reception area table. The airport pick up and delivery by the hotel car worked very well. Central location was excellent - being just a few minutes walk from a great selection of places to eat, get take away food and soft cold drinks, and the city's wonderful large market! The whole atmosphere - design of the buildings, close to the winding Siem Reap River with large trees and green grass surrounding areas, area kept clean, and with friendly helpful people everywhere we went. Also excellent location for ATMs, and paywave VISA in common use. The local version of motorbike trailer unique type of tuk tuks were everywhere with their drivers keen to take you where ever you wanted to go at a very reasonable cost. For example easy to get to Angkor Wat and the other associated heritage temples and city sites. All round an amazing place and time there in Siem Reap based from Uncle Sam Villa. The more we found out about Siem Reap and spent time exploring and enjoying it the more it all grew on us. A very special few days that we will always treasure! This includes Siem Reap being an international centre for mine clearance work, include the very well set up APOPO humanitarin demining centre that includes excellent displays and and demonstrations of the HeroRats and dogs being training to detect mines - amazing! We just stumbled on this while on with a tuk tuk on the way to visit old templa areas near Angkor Wat. People were wonderful.

We were surprised to learn on our arrival early afternoon that every day to mid afternoon there was a noisey generartor or similar in the adjacent hospital ground place. On a positive note Uncle Sam is located in a quiet side street, and in the end we soon got used tp and lived with the next door noise - noting that the reality was we were out for most days, and mostly quiet when we got back from being out and about visiting Angkor Wat, the excellent local market and other sights.

The hotel is well located, within a few minutes' walk to Pub street and with many good coffee places in the area. The room itself is relatively large and well equipped, the AC is strong and cools the room quickly. The pillows are great with one being very soft and the other firm so you have both options, 2 bottles of water are provided free daily.

I was on the third floor and the wifi didn't work very well, also nearby there's a restaurant with music every night till after midnight so if you're a light sleeper this might be an issue . Still for the price - it is a good stay

Excellent property in the center of Siem Reap, just 2 blocks from Pub Street. Lots of restaurant options around you, but if you walk further away from the river and Pub street, you'll notice the prices of food drop significantly and more local joints start to appear. we really enjoyed the quiet side street location as the woom was dead quiet all the time. The hotel staff is super-nice!!!! Sam is the owner, a tall gentleman with silver hair. He will make sure you have everything you need. We did all of our trips with the hotel and used their drivers for both Angkor Wat and further in Koh Ker. Incredible service and experienced guides. Prices are barely a little higher than what you can get haggling on your own. Their price for the longer journeys with a car or van are actually very well priced. I trusted my family's safety with their recommended drivers. Get Rasy to take you around in his tuktuk for alll the Angkor Wat trips. He'll give you your money's worth in kindness and little details here and there. Our large family room came with a table, 4 chairs and a cold fridge. Room was serviced daily and it was spotless. I really mean "CLEAN" like you wouldn't believe. And that's with daily service, so nice to come back after a long day to a tidy room. The ladies that do the cleaning work hard and we tipped them for their hard work. They really care for your comfort. Breakfast was great, simple and good breakfast options with a side of fruit cut every morning. Delicious coffee and you can ask for refills. A great way to tart your day. We spent 4 days at Uncle Sam's and we saw a ton. Everything we dreamed of and more from our Angkor Wat experience. This is a fabulous choice for your Siem Reap vacation. We will certainly come back without a doubt. Sam and his family work hard to make your stay as fabulous as possible.

Great stay at Uncle Sam! Perfect location close to the buzz, but absolutely calm. We went with Anh (our tour guide) and Raci (our driver) to the temples and really saw and learned a lot! Anh is very knowledgeable about the temples and Cambodian history and culture. I can highly recommend.

The location is central but also very quite.

It's a nice place but with a few strange things. You should take off your shoes outside and keep them in the lobby. Come on. Thats the hotel, not a temple. You also getting too much attention from the staff. For some of you, it can be nice, but if you want a bit more privacy coming back late night... I have a corner room and one side was directly facing a huge garbage container. Water heater is 10cm from the shower head and the circuit breaker is 20cm from the shower head. Seriously?

Uncle Sam Villa is a great little place to stay for exploring Siem reap. The owners are very nice and help you out with everything. The room is super clean and it’s a quiet stay because it’s down an alley, within walking distance to pub street. Breakfast not included but you can get a nice breakfast at the restaurant for $5. Would definitely stay again! Also has very good laundry services!

The stay is on an alley that is a 7-8 minute walk to Pub street. The only thing I will say is that if I was by myself as a solo female traveler I might not have felt entirely comfortable walking to and from pub street at night as the alley and street connecting to pub street is not very busy and kind of isolated. I was with family so it wasn’t a big deal but keep in mind if you are a solo female or come back before dark.

Excellent Stay, Right from the onset of checking in the staff made me feel right at home I especially in particular cannot thank Cheata enough her level of customer service to ensure guests feel right at home & comfortable, very friendly & always happy & enthusiastic to help with anything you may require especially with booking tours.Cheata as well as all the staff had truly made my stay all the more memorable & special.My Room had absolutely you could need with all the comforta & more with Excellent location to pub street 3 min walk. I extended my stay so many more days more because I throughly loved the hotel & it's staff.Thank You to everyone & with no doubts I will be back booking my stay with Uncle Sam Villa.

The hotel is located in a beautiful traditional house right in the city centre. It’s very convenient as the night market and all the restaurants are just around the corner. Other attractions are also in the walking distance. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful, they helped us to rent bikes, gave lots of used information and made us feel welcome and comfortable!

The breakfast was a bit limited. You need to walk barefoot in the hotel, but you get used to it, so it’s not a big deal. Other buildings were quite close to our windows, so we kept the curtains closed and couldn’t enjoy the view that much. However it was very quiet and we weren’t disturbed at any time.

An absolute gem in the heart of Siem Reap. We stayed here given we were unable to extend our stay. For the value and location this is a fantastic place to rest and relax. Only a stone throw from pub street and the big pagoda you are in the heart of the action. If you really don’t want to walk, then a tuk tuk to either of these is no more than $1. The rooms are spacious with an all round balcony to enjoy your view of the skyline. The beds are large and cosy and the staff literally go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable. The entrance is through the parking area in front of the restaurant (with breakfast served from 0600-0900). Note we didn’t notice an elevator so stairs are your option to get to the rooms. A wonderful place for the price!

The room was spacious and the AC was fantastic, my bed was very comfortable and it was a great place to come back to after a day of sightseeing in the heat in Siem Reap. The family that run Uncle Sam's are really nice and so polite. I really liked this place and would rate it in the top 3 of all the places I stayed in during my trip to Cambodia. The location of this accommodation is also really great, its 3 minutes away from 'pub street' but not close to any of the noise and its 4 mins away from the night market. The only reason I haven't given this place 10 points is because the description on booking says the rooms have balconies, they do not :) there is a balcony that runs round the top floors but it can only be accessed from a door at the end of the corridor outside the rooms. This was not a massive issue for me (largely because my room was right next to the balcony door) but I think it needs to corrected in the booking description. I would absolutely recommend Uncle Sam villa as a place to stay in Siem Reap.
