Just a short walk to the Skaha Lake beach and neighbourhood pub/restaurant (the Dragonboat Pub) where we were able to sit outdoors on the lake side, watch the sunset, and enjoy a good meal. The lake front walk was also very enjoyable. There were kiteboarders, swimmers, sail boaters, motor boaters, as well as beach volleyball, tennis, basketball, and play areas for kids.

Everything was great. The level of customer service from the manager/hostess of the Valley Star Motel was excellent. She walked us to our room, showed us all the features/controls (AC, TV, etc) and provided us with warm (fresh from the dryer) pool towels for our evening dip. It was a real pleasure to stay there. We will definitely return, when we travel through Penticton again.

We liked everything. The room was big and very clean, there is a nice heated pool, our suite had a fully equipped kitchen, a basin and mirror separate from the toilet and shower and a little patio outside where we could sit and have our meals. There are 2 barbecues and plenty of supermarkets and shops nearby, plus 2 restaurants that were walking distance.. the location is great and not in the busy part of town. The owners were very nice and helpful and let us check in early as it was pouring with rain.

The motel is charming but modern, the room was exactly as described. Everything was very comfortable and clean, with all the room amenities as heating/AC, hairdryer, coffe maker and even small fridge with freezer (not your usual 1 foot tall minifridge). The bed was VERY comfortable which is great after a long day enjoying ther outdoors. I was really taken by the garden area in the middle, so welcoming!! Walking distance to the lake and very close to several eating spots, and extra close to Shaka Bluffs! I'll definitely come back next time I stay in the area.

The water pressure in the shower could be better it was on the weaker side. I wish there was an extra pillow on the bed as I like to stack them and there were only 3 pillows for 2 of us but I did not reach out to request one was very tired and just fell asleep. The person that checked us in was very nice and I'm sure I could have gotten an extra pillow if I'd requested it!

Easy location to walk to beach, nice pool area and very clean pool, beautiful gazebos in the middle for eating and chilling. Just a short walk to the beach (which is lovely) and there is a new $5 simple mini golf nearby which was fun. Bed was extremely comfy, air con was quiet.

We didn’t have a kitchenette in our room, so next time would want one as there is only really a sushi restaurant, a pizza place, and the dragon boat pub by the beach within walking distance - fine for our 2 nights but any longer the food options would be limited so get a kitchenette unit if staying longer.

Loved the communal outside area in the middle of the grounds. Lovely gazebos and seating areas. The decor and gardens were kept very well. The pool was a very welcome treat. The owners and staff were fab. Loved the location and being able to walk to the beach and dragon boat inn.

We loved staying here, the only thing that would have made it perfect was having the TV in a place where you could watch it more comfortably i.e. not having to sit on the beds, ouyr cram the dining chairs into the gap between the beds.

Nice room with a sepatate bedroom and a full kitchen, very well-equipped. Clean, recently refurbished, comfortable bed. 5 minute walk from Skaha beach. The outside tables and bbq area are great to relax in the evening.

The A/C was a little.noisy and the motel is beside a reasonably busy road, so there was some noise. Not really bothersome, though, and traffic dies right down after about 8-9 pm.

Super friendly reception and staff. The room and bathroom very very clean. The place was very comfortable and well furnished and apportioned. Very close to a beautiful beach and park. I will certainly book this place again and recommend it to friends and family.

The Valley Star has everything you need for a great stay in Penticton. The facilities are clean & comfortable. The motel is run by a very fun & outgoing family-they were extremely welcoming & readily accommodated our requests (including the odd ones such as using their duct tape so we could strap our unicorn lake floatie to the roof of our car!). & even after a full day spent swimming at the lake, it's great to cap the evening off w/ a dip in the pool, so that is a great perk. Would definitely stay again.

The location is great, right beside a very good sushi/ramen restaurant and pizza place. Minutes away from the Skaha beach, only a few minutes drive to Skaha Bluffs if you enjoy hiking. The check-in was easy, the host was very kind and accommodating.

I loved everything about this location. The lake is right around the corner from the motel. The atmosphere was so fun and inviting, anyone would have a great time at this beautiful little place. The owner was so friendly and greeted us with a great big smile. I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with some fellow visitors, and learning they return each year and have for 15 years because of the atmosphere and the owners :)
