Surprisingly lovely BUILDING with stained glass, antiques, 'quirky' museum-like Sushi restaurant with very good menu. View directly through large windows out to ocean directly below and islands, float planes, working fishing boats, trawlers - interesting and lovely for sunset. Very large balcony with selection of outdoor furniture. Excellent location for walking to shops, Craft Market, food, etc. Owner and manager most charming and helpful. Good menu of asian food, well prepared and reasonable. Bar most attractive.

Room was listed 'ground floor' but this level is accessed by a tall narrow staircase, or side door with short staircase and brick patio. probably NOT for clients with disabilities. The small TV needs to be replaced. Clients should know that the site around this beautiful building is under renovation - rough and rocky places when you unload the car from parking on nearby street. Very steep small road to shoreline parking at back, but this entails carrying luggage up a staircase. One disappointment - Bed: we wanted a Queen but had to take twins. Our two beds were low and very narrow, very far apart and too heavy to slide together.! More like a camp holiday than a high-class Inn. Next time we would seek a differently configured room.

We had room 5 on the first floor. With small balcony over looking the sea. It was hypnotic, we almost couldn’t tear ourselves away from just sitting on the balcony with binoculars and drinking tea. We watched otters and raccoons and bald eagles , boats snd sea planes. Bed comfy. View from bed was so lovely we didn’t close the curtains at night . Fridge was useful. Lovely bath which we used once. Good shower, plenty of parking.

Another useful surface would have been useful perhaps instead of the bookcase. Nowhere to boil the kettle apart from floor. Tricky preparing anything. Only room for one bedside table . There was a microwave in the hallway but no dishes or cutlery A lot of steps be warned.

Great location. On the waterfront. Free on site parking within walking distance to downtown so we didn’t have to pay for parking every time we got out of the car in the downtown area. Had a lovely partial water view from our room. Room had lovely small balcony with chairs. Room had satellite tv so we were able to watch the playoff hockey game. Comfortable.

Room was in the basement so we could hear the sounds of movement of staff on the main floor in the morning and there were a number of loud float planes taking off quite early in the morning. Those are mostly a problem if you want to sleep in and noise bothers you. The tv in the room was small. No air conditioning.

Fun staff. One of the rooms we occupied had a marvelous view. The location was within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and excursions. I would stay here again if I find myself in Tofino.

Funny: we booked a "ground floor" room for my aging aunt with bad knees thinking there wouldn't be any stairs. "Ground floor" was downstairs and my aunt didn't really like that. We also wished the sushi restaurant was open. It's open 5 nights a week. We stayed on those other 2 nights. Our loss but we found great food at the Wickaninnish Inn (luxurious!).

The staff was amazing and very accommodating. We had a late ferry so had to check in very late. The staff made sure I had the keys upon arrival. The room we had was sea facing and it was worth it. Could watch the beautiful scenic view from the and the private balcony! The room was big and clean. The sheets were washed and clean, could feel it. The complimentary coffee in the room was local and tasted great! Definitely recommended! The location is great and of course the view!

Wish there was a lock on the balcony door, even though it wasn't a big problem. No complaints.

The building is older and solidly built so there's no need for noisy AC. Peace! There's a heater for winter months which would be super cosy. The location is fantastic, we never tired of the view. The bed is enormous and the bed and bedding really, really comfy. The bath is huge and really appreciated after a body day exploring trails. The room had everything we needed. Car park was appreciated.

It may not be for guests with mobility issues as there are stairs to the rooms and more stairs to the car park.

We had a lovely room with windows overlooking the water. The details of the windows, furnishings and colors were delightful. Our room was spotless.

With the non-utilitarian furnishings, we didn't have room to put our suitcases, so it felt cramped. There are no screens on the doors or windows to keep mosquitoes out, so we had to run the A/C instead. The floor of the tub/shower did not have a non-slip surface, which could have been disastrous for someone.

Bedding was superb! What a treat! Mattress was a little hard and pillows went flat but itvwasnt a big deal. the cleanliness and condition of the hotel far exceeded my expectations. Very impressed! Would recommend for sure.

Everything was great..mattress just a little hard, pillows felt lovely but went flat. Hurt my hips a little but not a big deal. Wish the windows could open more. Not a big deal.

Room was a little small but cute and comfortable. Bathroom is a nice size. Liked the downtown location and view of the water from our deck. It was a nice perk that wine glasses and a cork screw were provided. All in all, I would stay here again.

Towels were not "plush" as advertised but were fine. I suggest upgrading the shower head and would have liked a freezer compartment in the mini fridge for our ice packs.

The Inn at Tough City is a quaint boutique hotel with an eclectic collection of furnishings. Our room had a beautiful view of the harbour and a private little balcony to sit out on and enjoy the view! The location is perfect with all the offerings in Tofino within walking distance. Then there’s easy access to beaches, swimming, surfing, hiking and bicycling trails. We LOVE Tofino and the Inn was a fun place to stay!

Nothing. The staff was accommodating and friendly, the inn was clean, location was excellent!
