Room was really big with three beds which took most of the space on the room but we didn't mind as the location was perfect in the city center, near Kinston city hall and with a car park just in front of the hotel. There's lot of restaurants near by and the lake is just on the back of the hotel. We had a city view room on the 6th floor with a really nice view. The hotel next door is the restaurant Lonely Star that we love so it was really convenient.

The breakfast is a box even if you decide to eat there. Room is a bit old but for the price and location I don't mind at all and will stay there again next time I'm in Kingston

Perfect location! Right on the water downtown kingston so can walk everywhere. Room smelt clean right as you walked in. I could tell some updates had been done to the facility since last time I was here. Staff were friendly from the moment you walk in. Great little continental breakfast in a box which contained a muffin, yogurt, two hard boiled eggs, cheese and a juice box.

Got back to the hotel later in the night and there were two people sitting outside on the hotel step asking for money. This made us a little nervous to approach the hotel as being only two women, we didn’t feel safe. Although out of the hotels control, it would be nice if they watched out for that kind of stuff.

I liked the spaciousness of the room and the stunning view over the lake (if booked)! The room looks a little bit 80ies, but not in an awkward way, and everything was clean. They have a lot of facilities in the room, e.g. enough coat hangers, fridge, coffee machine, microwave, the fancy lamps with the electric sockets and plugs for charging the mobiles. I would always come back and prefer that hotel over one of the big brands.

The breakfast box is a good concept though I didn't understand where to put the butter and cheese - there was no toast or bread in it. The coffee from the machine in the room was not great. The coffee had a strange smell and taste.

Firstly, the location of the Hotel is perfect, our room overloooked the waterfront which was beautiful also very close to the market square, lovely bars and restaurants. We enjoyed the free breakfast bento box style, boiled eggs, cheese, yoghurt,a muffin, juice and or fruit with help yourself hot drinks. The staff are the jewel in this hotel’s crown, every member we encountered were warm, welcoming and helpful. Our coffee machine wasn’t working, the receptionist made sure it was replaced immediately and kindly asked if it was working ok later that day.We didn’t need our room cleaned as only staying two nights, nevertheless the room service staff asked if we needed fresh towels ,coffee or bath products . Don’t be put off by the look of the hotel,as it is quite dated from the outside, also the rooms could do with a refresh ,but the bedding ,towels and facilities were comfortable and spotless,we wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we came to Kingston. Recommend the Thousand Island boat trip,Bobby Pecorino for wine small plates and ambiance and Chez Piggy for drinks and food .

Room and facade of hotel are dated but didn’t detract from the warm welcome and comfort

Everything was wonderful. The staff were absolutely amazing, kind & accommodating. My mother had eye surgery and had a post-op appt the next day early in the morning, so we decided to stay overnight in kingston instead of driving back home, which is over an hours drive. I called the night before my mom's surgery and our stay here to ask about early check-in as her surgery was at 7am. They had our room ready for us at 10 am, which was perfect timing as she was discharged just after that. They went above and beyond to accommodate us for an early check-in due to our situation. We were also set up on the top floor at the very end of the hallway, it was very quiet and perfect for my mom as she needed to get rest. I'm so grateful for everything the staff did to make this happen and make our stay comfortable.

I honestly can't think of anything that I didn't like

I cannot say enough about the staff at this hotel. A few weeks back we booked two nights as a cautionary option due to bad weather but once the weather improved I wanted to cancel second night but the free cancellation time window had elapsed. I requested that the booking for the 2nd night be cancelled without penalty, knowing that my request may not be met. However, the manager did contact me directly and let me know that due to the situation she would waive the cancellation fee. I very much appreciated this as it saved us over $300 dollars. When I am happy with a hotel. I make a point of being loyal so we returned just last week and our stay was very comfortable. The beds are amazing, and while the breakfast is a modest boxed meal, it was nutritious and the breakfast serving staff were friendly and engaging, The best part was how reasonable the rate was mid-week, way more competitive than most hotels in Kingston. We will definitely return to the Confederation Place Hotel in Kingston.

Amenities at this hotel are limited and the decor (carpet) may be a bit dated, but it is reflected by their reasonable rates. Hotels like this need to be supported to give budget travelers and families some much needed choice in their accommodations.

Room was nice. When we arrived the neighbouring room had their TV on loud. Asked front desk and they immediately dealt with it. Mattress was comfy. A variety of pillows. Nice view out over the water. Easy to control the temperature in the room.

We could hear what was happening in neighbouring rooms and the hallway very clearly. I wish there was more soundproofing. I also wish there was a reduced waste option for the breakfast. I dislike that it is all in disposable packaging. There should be an option to have it on real, reusable dishes.

We were able to get an early checkin, which was beneficial to our children who were competing in a major athletic competition. The room was well-appointed and exceeded expectations, in terms of size. It accommodated our family well. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. It was nice to see security at the desk at all times and to have the desk staff available 24 hours daily. We liked the pool. As well, the breakfast boxes were well made and appreciated. The proximity to everything was excellent. We will definitely be staying here when we return to Kingston. As well, I will definitely be posting on TripAdvisor and Google Reviews when I am able to do so.

The parking (which was a concern) was full when we returned from picking up our kids at their tournament. We ended up parking across the street. Parking almost needs to be reserved in advance.

-exceptionally friendly hotel staff / security staff also

-paper bag breakfast (not impressed / really not impressed -breakfast should start at 0600hr & not at 0700hr > people have to trave early (at least offer something for early travelers > I had to leave early & nothing was offered :-( > no breakfast :-( -get rid of the antiquated coffee machine in the rooms > install Keurig machine w/ variety of caffeinated / decaffeinated K-cups > travelers from out of province like myself appreciate in-the-least...a GOOD cup of coffee and also offer REAL creamers for the coffee

Staff were very friendly and helpful both cleaners and front desk. Great location.

did not like the boxed breakfast - who wants a cold breakfast with a pre-cooked egg? Time to return to pre-covid ways. I also did not appreciate that we could not get wine glasses for our room, instead disposable plastic glasses which are NOT environmentally friendly and awful to drink from. I understand that you are trying to economize but your rates are the same as before and it is not a good look. Also suggest you update your website which says masks are mandatory.
