Ellies's hospitality was outstanding in so many ways. Communication was eager and helpful. Check-in was quick and easy with a convenient access code system that was the same for the front door and our room, unique to each guest. Ellie's breakfasts were amazing with a great many choices each day and served with obvious love for hosting with her personal attention. Our room and ensuite was modern, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The rest of the home was impressively arranged for guest comfort. There were refrigerators, stocked with beverages and snacks, both in the dinning room and on the bedroom level mezzanine. The family room for guest use had comfy furniture, a jumbo TV and a full size pool table. We could go on and on. The location is only 5 minutes from the center of Niagara-On-The-Lake with a peaceful scene of grape vines across the road. This is now the only place we'd ever want to stay when we're in the area. Everything was perfect !

Everything!! Ellie is the most thoughtful host ever!! Rooms were fully equipped with everything you could ever need. There is a lounge in basement with pool table, really comfy sofa and chairs and big screen tv with Netflix for the guests as well as outdoor pool and gazebo. The breakfast is the best we have ever had at a BNB!! Lots of different fresh fruits from Niagara which are amazing, pastries, eggs, French toast, pancakes, bacon, sausage etc. Ellie is very accommodating to those with allergies as well. We ate so well we couldn't eat lunch! Ellie gave us great recommendations for parking at Niagara Falls. She brought my husband and I a sandwich for lunch one day and on leaving she gave peaches to us to take home!! We definitely will come back if we come to the area and will recommend it to everyone we know who are going there!!

Every year, my boyfriend and I visit Pillar and Post in the fall because we love coming to Niagara on the Lake. This year we wanted to be a little bit more cost-efficient since we’re both college students. I found the harp and crown room at Old Country Landing for just $222. I had never been at a bed-and-breakfast before, but I saw the reviews and I wanted to try it out. I had let Ellie know that I was celebrating my boyfriend’s 22nd birthday, and I kindly requested that she leave a little note in our room. When we got to the old town country landing, she had decorated our entire room with balloons and a happy birthday banner as well as a lovely Hallmark card that said Happy 22nd birthday, Robin. It was above and beyond our expectations. Aside from that we were entirely stunned by the tranquillity of the location of the bed-and-breakfast, and how spacious as well as comforting the interior was. With a design of old Eastern Europe, it made for the most relaxing and luxurious feel. Our room was quite comfortable. With our king-size bed, fireplace, and spacious ceiling shower, our own slippers and bath robes as well as additional toiletries, we felt as though we were right at home with a wealthy touch of elevation. Ellie was so kind to provide snacks and beverages throughout our whole stay at no extra cost. She was available on site whenever we needed her and answered every phone call whenever we had a question. Breakfast was also included in our stay. For breakfast, she made us the best omelet and had fresh pancakes that she made from scratch. Since I wasn’t able to eat a lot of sugar, she remade pancakes just for me without any added sugar, which was truly the kindest thing she could’ve done. There was an assortment of over eight different fruits on the table, and a choice of any coffee or tea. She even allowed us to check out a little bit later at no extra cost. She was incredibly hospitable, personable, kind, and friendly. It was truly such a wonderful experience.

Absolutely nothing, it was perfect.

Ellie was a very attentive and informative host. She gave a tour of the house so we could feel comfortable and take advantage of all the amenities. The breakfast was amazing and full of local fresh fruits, pastries and jams. I appreciated having a shelf in the fridge for personal items and access to cold filtered water and ice. The dining room was lovely, easy to access and very well stocked. The location was easy to find, quiet and close to the town and wineries.

Personally, I am not a fan of carpet as I have allergies. My husband would have preferred a larger shower.

Ellie went out of her way to accommodate any special requests and dietary considerations. Any fruit lovers would be in awe of Ellie’s breakfast table. The beds were comfortable with luxurious sheets, and the pool looked lovely (though we did not have the time to swim).

The overhead fan was a little noisy but once turned off, the room became a little too warm (perhaps we could have opened a window instead?). The location was a little further from the downtown core than I usually like as I like to walk, but it’s only a short drive to the Shaw festival, and it was very quiet.

The room was well appointed and we appreciated all of the extra details that were included such as snacks and beverages upon our arrival, an outdoor pool with a nice seating area, and other outdoor places to sit. The breakfast was fantastic and Ellie was an excellent host. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

We would have preferred the option of having a table for 2 to sit at instead of one large table for all 6 guests. When we arrived for breakfast my husband and I were seated at opposite ends of the table because the other guests occupied the other seats.

Ellie is an amazing host! The check-in was super organized, the welcome incredibly warm (Ellie we’re so sorry to have forgotten the wine bottle!) and the house is set up so lovingly you feel like home. The breakfasts were always BEYOND!! And it didn’t stop there - there were pies and other baked goods available throughout the day, incl koffee, sodas and other snacks. We loved cooling off in the pool in the hot afternoons or playing pool in the basement. 4 nights are nights were simply not enough - although we’re from far away, we’ll be back!

Everything from the driveway, to the porch, to the hallway, the kitchen and the rooms were so clean, tidy, beautifully decorated and kept. Probably the best BnB we’ve been to! We wish we’d stayed for longer but our itinerary only allowed for a night there but if we ever come back to Ontario, we will for sure repeat! Ellie was also so kind, responsive to our messages and extremely caring. We literally felt at home from the second we stepped through the doors and even few days before. She is the loveliest host and cares incredibly for her guests.

Nothing about the property that we didn’t like. We just wish we had more time to spend there and enjoy it fully.

Loved the home, comfortable feeling as soon as you walk in. Ellie the host has a beautiful soul and takes pride in what she does. Breakfast was a huge spread of food from freshly cooked omelettes to fruit, pastries, bacon, home grown tomatoes and plenty to drink. Bedroom, bathroom very clean, comfortable and spacious. A downstairs entertainment living room with tv, pool table, sofas games fridge and bar great spacious area if you have a larger group. Great place for couples or girls get away. Since being there only one day didn't bring a bathing suit, but beautiful in ground pool. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Ellie.

Nothing, loved everything.

Fabulous large room and ensuite bathroom; pool available for guests; exceptional breakfast each morning; the owner - Ellie - couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. She also provided so many extra touches, such as a shared fridge in a common area with soft drinks at no extra fee, tea, coffee and pastries and cake laid out throughout the day for guests to snack on, extra toiletries in your bathroom in case you’d forgotten something.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property or the experience.
