The location is great for using public transportation (bus stop is right there). It's also in a very walkable neighborhood with lots of restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and more nearby. The breakfast is good for a continental breakfast, with lots of breads, delicious pancakes, and eggs. My private room had a balcony. The street can be noisy but with door/window closed it's quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and very helpful, as were other visitors. The rooftop terrace is nice with a good sized shaded area and comfy couches. A few shade umbrellas over some of the tables would be nice, if possible.

I feel the price of a private room with shared bath was a bit high, though it could have been the timing. I also wish the hours to access the kitchen were a little longer - they are 8am to 9pm- but it was a very minor inconvenience.

Rooftop terrace and excellent breakfast

Amazing family hotel and hostel. Spotlessly clean and my dorm even had a south facing balcony to chill. Amazing atmosphere with a homey and holiday feel, best free breakfast ever. 5 types of quality artisan breads with real butter. The jam marmalade and peanut butter all looked homemade & they make there own Korean pancakes with quality syrup and more options to choose from (Buffet breakfast ) Self catering kitchen with a 3 course meal vending matchine. Dinning room and sofa area with TV. I've travelled the world and this is the best budget friendly hotel I've ever stayed in ever!!! Will return next time in Montreal.

The coffee could be improved even an option to buy a Cappuccino/ latta would be nice

overall amazing, super comfy and cute room. we transferred here from another hostel that smelled like feet (parc ave hostel, DO NOT GO THERE IT SMELLS LIKE FEET. and is overall unclean and very concerning. and overall weird. AND FEET SMELLY!) and we got an amazing nights sleep here. literally 2 blocks from the part of st-laurent blvd with all the bars/clubs, so made it super easy for late-night going back.

Great kitchen and common areas, stunning rooftop deck, great networking opportunities, made some amazing connections over my stay, beautiful building and friendly staff. Felt safe and secure for the most part. For my first hostel experience, I couldn’t ask for better (let see what the next brings ;)). Highly recommend this!!! Especially if you’re social, neurospicy and/or don’t like sterile cold hotels and being alone.

Construction noise (although they sell earplugs); pillows could be a bit better, note that toiletries (soap, shampoo nor conditioner) are not provided, bring a padlock (not overly thick - these lockers will fit a 35” handbag at max) unless you want to buy one… staff can be slow to respond on booking.com so it’s best to call or ask in-person. No late check-out options.

The location was very good! quite a few stores, restaurant, and grocery stores within walking distance. The staff were very kind and check-in process was very easy. We stayed in a private bedroom with private bathroom in the basement. We were a little skeptical since some of the photos weren’t renovated ( we obviously wanted a clean and renovated room) but took the chance anyway. Thankfully, the room was renovated, and very clean. It was no frills, but it certainly did the job. Clean bathroom, bed and desk. We had to enter the room via side door of the hostel, but it was very safe, and well secured. Unfortunately there was no mini fridge, but that was OK.

No mini fridge to store food or drinks. Well, they had a communal fridge, we didn’t want to be food there overnight. Since we were in the basement we had to enter our room through a separate door so leaving food would not be a very efficient option.

I have read in other reviews prior to booking that the location is accessible to attractions. But, I was so pleased to discover it myself that it is actually accessible to convenience stores, Chinatown & other Restaurants, Recreation Parks , Churches, and even to a bus terminal to and from airport . You just need your GPS and you won’t need to pay for a bus ride to explore the city. That is if you like walking. If I get to visit Montreal again I’ll stay here again. And everyone who works there are very pleasant and friendly.

To the management , please replace the property name on the door or inform the people booking the property that it’s not printed as Auberge du Plateau on the door it’s actually a different name. I got lost and confused because of it, had to walk back & forth at Sherbrooke St looking for it. It can be frustrating when you’re tired from your flight & don’t speak / read French. 😅

Everything about that place was nice, Host is extremely polite, humble, friendly and proactively suggested places to explore. Staff was friendly, helpful and always smiling. Location is great, just 5min walk to downtown. Everything is close by. Rooms are clean, washrooms are clean even for mixed dorm. They keep a check to keep it clean and refill toilet papers. I liked the breakfast too. AC needs servicing, it works but cooling is a little slow. There is no lift/elevator so avoid carrying big luggage, though they offer to keep extra luggage in reception area. Host was kind enough to help me with my luggage. Kitchen closes at 11 along with reception. Great to have tea, cofee, water available throughout the day. Kitchen is fully equipped too.

Great neighbourhood, close to transit (bus&metro), grocery store down the block, nearby restaurant and street music scene, rooftop terrace, friendly, bilingual, helpful staff.

I liked it, but it’s very much not wheelchair accessible- many many many stairs. It is a hostel, so if you expect what a hostel usually has, this is a great one! Be aware, you may be on a top bunk, but they are comfortable bunks, there are plenty of washrooms and power bars at each bunk. Security on each room means you need two hands to open the dorm door, but it does mean your stuff is safer.

Beautiful old house in the perfect location. Vibe of the hostel was older and there were several families staying so definitely not a party hostel. But you’re close to so many bars, clubs, and restaurants; it’s not hard to find a party. Free breakfast was nice - hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, pancakes, toast, oatmeal. Terrace was gorgeous but keep an eye out for private parties and wasps (got swarmed while eating charcuterie)

The kitchen closes at 9pm and the common areas close at 11pm.
