My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and featured a comfortable king-sized bed. The bathroom was well-appointed with both a bathtub and a separate shower, and I was especially impressed with the stunning view of the city skyline from the 16th floor—it made for a beautiful way to start and end each day. The hotel also has a good-sized gym, but the air temp tends to be stuffy though. Location-wise, it’s excellent. The hotel is conveniently close to many restaurants, shopping centers, and a metro station. It’s also just a short walk from the iconic Jing’an Temple, making it a great base for exploring the area.

The hotel can get very busy, and check-in was a bit slow. It would be helpful if they staffed more than two people at the front desk during peak times. During my stay, the hotel driveway was under construction, which caused a backup in an already congested area. The wait time for a Didi ride can be an extra few minutes.

Fantastic location in downtown Jing’an near the temple and Jing’an Park as well as West Nanjing Rd and many of the main shopping precincts. If you need groceries there is a downstairs supermarket with high-quality products in a nearby shopping mall as well as Starbucks, Blue Frog and Pain Chaud for western-style food and coffee. All staff were friendly and polite, and my room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom amenities were fine and of the bulk variety for shampoo etc but this is in line with the hotels eco-friendly approach. I had room service a couple of times and it was delivered promptly and within the time frame stated. Overall a pleasant place to stay when in Shanghai.

There was unfortunately a pervasive smell of cigarettes in my bathroom some of the time, obviously related to whoever was in the room adjacent or above me. As I suspect this may have been a problem throughout the hotel I didn’t request a room change, however it would be good if management could address this. As others have noted I was also charged an extra amount upfront to cover expenses such as minibar or room service. As I was there for some days in my case this meant a surprise extra $800. I of course got the unused portion of this returned, but it would be good to tell guests in advance that this charge was being applied. Also the gym and pool were a bit tired and the gym equipment needs an update. And on,y one non-CCTV English-speaking TV channel (CNN) which got a bit tedious.

I am a frequent guest in hotels in Shanghai in this range, and Swissotel stood out in value for money. The rooms and clean and well equipped, especially compared to nearby hotels in similar price ranges. The breakfast is great, there are many quiet corners to have a conversation or work, the gym is okay and the spa area is superb. The staff got out of their way to accommodate requests.

If there is one thing I'd improve it's the gym equipment. Also, rooms on the lower floor get some noise from the aircon vents downstairs in the yard.

The rooms was very large with a comfortable bed. There was a small desk in the room which was useful for me because I had to prepare for meetings. I also used the ironing machine and board that were in the room. The bedroom was spacious with both a bath and shower and super clean.

There was not enough space to have breakfast. Tables were not being cleaned in time which made that there were no free tables. Also, the tableware was removed but the tables were not cleaned. I also had a plate with stains on it. The breakfast could have been organized better with more staff.

Conveniently located in the center of Shanghai in the Jing’an district. Has one of the best traditional Shanghai restaurants in the hotel, a big breakfast area with many options, both western and Asian. All hotel staff ( reception, restaurant staff, lounge staff, doorman) are very professional, friendly, and helpful, especially the doorman since we traveled with elders, they always helped them getting on and off of a taxi. We had booked a stay for 5 nights but we enjoyed the hotel so much, that we extended by another night. A big plus is that the hotel also provided airport transportation which was cheaper than city taxi and DiDi. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Shanghai next.

Room was very clean and tidy, super comfortable and great view. Location was in the city so very ideal for my stay. I got room service on one of the days and the food was exceptional. The facilities were amazing, I used the sauna, spa and swimming pools and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely be staying here next time I'm in Shanghai. Staff were also very helpful and super nice. Thanks for making my stay a great one.

Honestly I don't think I can criticize anything about this place, my experience was top notch.

Loved it: great location, amazing room, nice service. I enjoyed so much living so close to the Jingan temple and would recommend this as the best location in town. The room didn't have the carpet, that i prefer. The spa was small but clean and comfy. The pool was very light, with windows on the roof.

Best selling point for the hotel is location. Very close to the metro line 2 entry/exit number 3. Easy access to any part of Shanghai via metro. Also next to the Nanjing West shopping street. An affordable alternative to the higher priced five-star hotels.

Shower water flow is weak; shower handle too old - needs a replacement. Smell in the shower room not so good if the glass door is closed.

I arrived early, and the helpful staff allowed me to check-in despite being a few hours before check-in time. The gym is small but well equipped. The concierge was friendly and helped us make reservations at a local restaurant. The hotel is next to the metro station.

Food options in the hotel are limited, but there are many malls and restaurants around the hotel,

Fantastic 5* Hotel a cew bmocks away from the old French concession and next to a very modern Shopping Mall. Subway station is 3 minutes away. Bright and well furnished rooms with all the equipment you may need.

Staff efficient but a touch distant but that goes with being in the center if one of the biggest megalopolis in the World.
