This hotel put me in the mindset that I was a rich man in Columbia and this was my mansion. This hotel gave me the feeling of Columbia, so all the movies I’ve seen that depicted Columbia I felt it. The roof top was great with beautiful scenery. I imagined huge parties on the rooftop with friends and family. Breakfast was great and simple. The pool was nice and the botanical feeling throughout the property made the decor better. Location is great stepping out of the hotel to an open area restaurant and cafe with local performances. I was in the heart of all the action. I will be back to stay here soon due to this being my imaginary home. The top floor is all mine and the second floor is for my children. I picture myself in the study room on the top floor smoking a cigar, reading and book while sipping my sangria. If you are like me and stay away from American brand hotels to get the full feeling of the country, this is it!

I didn’t like that this isant my home like I imagined. This hotel made me want to retire early and move to Columbia.

Casa Pizarro was such a perfect stay in Cartagena. I hate big, brand-name hotels, and this boutique property fit the bill perfectly. The room was extremely clean, with a comfortable bed, VERY COLD air conditioning, a self-service mini-bar/espresso machine, and a cute patio with a hot tub. Housekeeping came every day to tidy up, and they were extremely friendly in the morning when I said hello. Breakfast each day was not only delicious, but plentiful: a basket of bread with jam and butter, a fresh fruit buffet featuring local options from Colombia in addition to more widely-known varieties, eggs cooked to order by the most lovely and attentive Ana and Estelle, alongside coffee and juice. (Note: some of these reviews mention a “lack” of quantity with regard to the breakfast; I have absolutely no idea how that could be possible; I left each day completely stuffed from the offering.) The pool was a daily delight after a long day walking around the hot city; I observed it being cleaned each morning. There are beach/pool towels upon request. The plaza just outside of the hotel is quite lovely, and there are two very good restaurants I can recommend from my stay: Basilica Pizzería Café and Fama Bar Fusion - Restaurante Casa De Las Palmas. The latter has a daily “menu del día”, which is cheap, plentiful, and delicious. I can wholly recommend Casa Pizarro for your Cartagena adventure. I would return in a heartbeat.

The staff during our stay went above and beyond they were so so friendly welcoming and helpful. The pool is great on the ground floor surrounded by plants and you can look up at the beautiful architecture of the building towards the sky. Our room was on the ground floor so we were worried about noise and being right next to the pool but we were actually out late every night soaking up columbian night life that it didn't bother us. The location is perfect on a quietish square with cute restaurants. Highly recommended for value of money, swimming pool, staff and location. Fantastic stay.

The room was basic with all things you would need, smelled a bit musky but tis to be expected in a humid climate. As I say we were on the ground floor and I imagine the upper floor rooms are quieter and nicer - not being by the pool etc. I feel like the roof top area where you eat breakfast could be utilised better and would be nice if it was as vibey as the pool area. Maybe more plants?

My stay at this property was wonderful, from Lina and Will at the reception, to all the staff, they were very helpful and welcoming. I felt more comfortable and at home in this 3 star hotel, than I have felt staying at some of the 5 star hotels in Colombia. The location is great, I had the best pasta next door at the Casa de Las Palmas, the pool was perfect and they have a terrace on the top floor. All in all, one of the best hotels I have stayed in Colombia, and the area of Getsemi, where I stayed, a better experience than staying in the Bocagrande area.

I had no complaints, from the welcoming experaince received at reception, to my stay at this hotel, I probably could have find some things to complain about, however, if there were any, I overlooked them, it was so peaceful and tranquil, the bed was comfortable, soft pillows, in the historical part of the city, great places to eat nearby, some beautiful small stores, lots of bars and restaurants close by, and within walking distance of the port, and the old city.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very pretty. The pool was a good temperature and decent size for relaxing and swimming a little bit. The rooms are nice. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruits, coffee, tea, bread, eggs how you want them, pancakes. Great location.

Our room had a nasty damp, musty smell that was making my partner a bit ill. She was coughing a lot and it was difficult for us to sleep the first night because of this. Running the fan and AC did not help with this. We requested to change rooms for the second night of our stay and the staff accommodated us and even put us in a larger, more comfortable room with no additional charge. Thankfully there were other rooms available. The original room was on the lower floor, while the next room was on the second floor. It gets more airflow on the second floor so I would recommend getting a room on the second floor.

A very nice hotel at a great location. Close to Plaza de la Trinidad and the alleys where you can find a lot of bars, restaurants and local artists, but still very nice and calm surroundings to enjoy and chill. The room were very comfortable and tidy. The daily cleaning was excellent and the included breakfast prepared by Esther and Anna was perfect. One day we decided to have lunch in the hotel and Ester and Anna prepared of fresh fish, rice and Salad that was probably the best I have had in all of Colombia in the past 3 weeks. If you go to Cartagena, I suggest to stay here!

Great location on quiet square in the getsemani neighborhood of Cartagena. Old world charm and a much appreciated pool in the central garden area. Our room (with a balcony that we didn’t wind up using because it was too hot to be outside) was large and the bed quite comfortable. Air conditioning was very good, as was the ceiling fan. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were good - served on the lovely rooftop - but they tended to run low on fruit the later you arrive.

At this price point we felt that bottled water should be provided in the rooms for guests.

We stayed in the suite. It's a large and nice room, with great natural lighting. We even use the place to work. The Wifi was good. A/C is very effective. The hotel is near a square in the very lively Getsemaní, but the noise was not too uncomfortable. The staff is lovely, very nice and attentive. They organized a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday, during our breakfast, with cake, candle and singing for him a "feliz cumpleaños"! They were adorable.

The breakfast was really excellent. Only our first morning, the quantity was not that much. But honestly, I think it's just a little detail, as everything was very good.

I'm so glad I chose Casa Pizarro! The little pool was my favorite part - it's gorgeous and provided the perfect respite from the heat. I was in there almost every morning and night and had it to myself. The included breakfast is served on a beautiful rooftop patio. My husband and I are vegan and once we explained what we wanted, they served us fresh-fried arepas with fresh tomato, avocado, shredded spinach and minced onion. Washed that down with coffee and lulo juice and I was in heaven. Our room was comfortable, with a HUGE bed, and perfectly quiet at night. The outdoor tub was out of service but the climate is so hot there's no way I would have used it anyway (IDK what I was thinking :).

The water from the shower smelled awful (sulfur?) - maybe add a filtering showerhead or air freshener.

The staff was exceptional and attended to our every needs. when we were sick; they called a doctor, When we wanted to stay in; they made us amazing meals for lunch. When we wanted to see placed; they took care of it all for us and reserved it all... horseback riding on the beach, exclusive rooftop restaurants and places to go! Island hopping tours and more.... Honestly, if we could have taken the staff home with us; we would have!!

the only thing that was a disappointment was the description of the Booking.com site. Not showing all the room and the size of the beds. Make certain you reserve the right rooms as the smaller beds and rooms are a little cramped... but the staff fixed it by getting us queens beds setups.
