The bungalows and facilities were all clean, comfortable, and beautifully kept. The location was fantastic and had amazing views of Arenal and the grounds dense with lush vegetation. Breakfast was delicious and the wait staff were friendly.

The shower temperature was a bit temperamental- very difficult to achieve water that wasn't either freezing or scalding. We were also soured a tad while checking out when we learned that losing a towel card (a small laminated piece of paper) was a $20 charge. I would understand the charge for losing or not returning a towel but $20 for the card seems a bit excessive.

The individual cabins at Hotel Lomas del Volcan are a excellent! The design perfectly blends with the natural surroundings, and the comfort level is superb. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches and the cleanliness maintained by the wonderful staff. They were so kind and always ensured I had everything I needed. And let's not forget the star of the show – the views of the Arenal Volcano. Whether from the private balcony or even from the jacuzzi in some cabins, the vista was simply awe-inspiring. It created a truly magical and unforgettable stay. Thank you to the entire team at Hotel Lomas del Volcan for such a wonderful experience!"

When we arrived I saw one of the most breath taking views ever. The volcano is so close and makes a crazy impression. I could just stare at it. I wish we could stay longer. Such a peaceful and calm environment, breath taking view on the volcano, well maintained gardens, fantastic pool. So much wildlife- we could hear hundreds of birds all the time. I recommend visiting nearby restaurants as there are so many just a few minutes away. The only thing I didn’t like was a dinner at the hotel restaurant- it was expensive and really not too tasty. Very „Americanized” menu. I would rather have something local and simple. Breakfasts were wonderful though.

The place was beautiful, with a perfect view of the volcano, very nice breakfast, and the staff were so so helpful. They helped us book taxis, book excursions, and even spray my room when i felt there were too many ants. The room was clean but since it is in the rainforest, some insects were expected.

The only downside for me was that the bathroom was so nice and big but with virtually no usable counter space except for the sink. So if you want to store toiletries for example you cant. There is a useless plant in the bathroom which they can easily do without and have shelving or something instead of.

Stunning landscaping and lush gardens at the foot of Arenal. Each morning we ate an absolutely abundant and delicious breakfast with Arenal watching over us. Being so close to Arenal it was like standing next to an ancient ancestor- we felt at peace in this space. The mini fridge allowed us to bring our own drinks so we could rest in the evening on our covered rear porch even in the rain, chat and dream up the next part of the adventure. Comfortable beds, high quality linens, excellent food and drinks for fair prices. Whole property on filtered water. Yoga classes and spa treatments in the rainforest made it magical. The yoga teacher was skilled and the couples massage was outstanding. The spa folks worked quietly, used essential oils and hot towels and consistently applied the medium pressure I requested. Excellent distinctive rainforest setting for both yoga and spa. This was a lucky find!

We loved everything.

Enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The meal we had in the restaurant was delicious. The food from the bar menu was also delicious. Loved the grounds of the hotel and the pool area was nice and tranquil. Loved our room and its outlook - we were in 417. The staff were top - a big shout out and thanks to Andreas, Julian, Alex, all the staff we met at breakfast, the housekeeping team, the great team in reception. Great service, great team.

It's a small thing: a shuttle service into La Fortuna town would have been nice. We don't drive and they must have other guests who also don't drive.

Rooms were lovely and the beds very comfortable with a spacious bathroom. There were 2 pools and a jacuzzi with cover which meant that we could relax by the pool even when raining. The staff were all amazing! My friend left his wallet in the room and they quickly messaged us to let us know and kindly posted it to our next destination. The restaurant staff were also super friendly and attentive and the food was delicious which was important given that the hotel is slightly out of the main town. We had an incredible stay and would definitely go back again!

Great views, great location away from crowded town, great staff, amazing room.

Food and drinks pricing was a little too high

The bungalows were very nice and clean. In general the staff was very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast, really tasty. The surrounding of the hotel is lovely too. 

Only one thing we have to complain about is the food being served in the evening. It is too much expensive, to pay 12$ for a sparkling Pellegrini water 0,7 ltr. (the bottle of Pellegrini cost aprox. 1,50 € in our country) is a bad joke. The food we got - dinner- was not tasty at all, we ordered 4 different meals, all were terrible. That’s why we decided not to eat at the hotel restaurant and we went to eat to the city.  When we travel abroad very often, we visited many countries like Japan, USA, Canada … and also many other European countries, but the food at the hotel Lomas was the most  expensive we have ever had. 

The location of the hotel is exceptional, positioned at the bottom of the volcano. When the clouds clear the views are incredible. Close to all the shops and restaurants in town and all the activities you could want around the National Park.

Well designed layout, the cabins are spaced apart, but nothing is too far away from reception, the pool and the restaurants. Beautiful mix of local trees and plants, very natural feel. The restaurant and bar didn’t disappoint, very nice included breakfast.
