The location is incredible and convenient. You see a lot of wildlife around the pool just because of its proximity to the park. (Multiple types of monkeys, toucans, etc.) The staff is so friendly and accommodating. They were some of the best staff we experienced in Costa Rica. Yummiest included breakfast we experienced. Lunch menu is good, too.

The rooms, while clean and comfortable, are nothing special. I had experienced much more special rooms for same or less money in Costa Rica. But the price was still overall very reasonable.

We wanted to stay near Manuel Antonio National Park and were surprised to find the hotel less than 100 feet from the entrance to the Park. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Pedro at the front desk told us that our Australian cousins had been asking for us so we were able to have an impromptu reunion with family from two continents while getting an upgrade to our room. Thank you, Pedro! The room was on two levels, very clean, and more than enough for us. Breakfast was great and we were entertained by the capuchin monkeys who helped clear plates when other guests left. We also saw iguanas and birds roaming around. Close proximity to the Park was a real plus and we were able to meet our guide just outside the Park. We also enjoyed lunch at the small pizza place next to the hotel run by a woman who spends half the year in Costa Rica and half in Sicily. Many thanks for the only dark beer we found in Costa Rica! If the heat is an issue, they may have the misting machine working to cool you off. Many thanks to Damien and Damien Junior at the front desk who helped us arrange a driver to our next location. Special thanks to Carlos, who ran off with my cellphone to get a picture of a toucan (no simple task) and returned with some great pictures.

This was a great place to stay when you go to Manuel Antonio National Park. We had a near perfect stay. The only suggestion we would make would be to install grab bars in the showers for those of us with balance issues.

The location is perfect for the area and for access to the National park. Close enough for naughty yet enchanting monkeys to visit throughout the day. Other animals also included, agoutis, coatis, huge iguanas, hummingbirds and more. All seen from the grounds and around the pool. Pool area was lovely for relaxing after hot days out, and chatting with other residents. The breakfast was served quickly and was nice. Room exceeded expectations - and loved the hammock. The bus in and out to Quepos is also easy to get and cheap.

Nothing negative to say at all - but watch those cheeky monkeys!

Nature + Staff This is a small, quiet, family run hotel right on the park boundary. The pool was 5m in front of our room, and Manuel Antonio Park was 3m from the pool. So the waitress is helping the monkeys kick their sugar habit by shooing them away from breakfast, the leafcutter ants steal the leaves off the bushes, the raccoon will beg for food if you eat lunch at the room, and iguanas will take your place in the sun by the pool. We also saw deer, hummingbirds, agouti, squirrel monkeys, squirrels and toucan without leaving the hotel. The staff are really helpful and friendly, showed us where to park our car, answered questions about animals, called hotels for us for our next stop, and chatted about Costa Rica, fishing and nature.

We couldn't stay longer.

The Hotel is directly next to the Manuel Antonio park, which is very convenient if you want to visit early in the morning. This also means that you can see monkeys, iguanas and other animals while sitting at the pool. The highlight was definitely the staff, they were very kind and helpful. Especially Rony was amazing. He organized parking for us, took a lot of time to chat with us and gave us good recommendations for activities in the area. He really knows what is worth doing because he went to most places himself.

Our room was not very clean but as we stayed only one night it was okay. Reading other reviews, this could be a one time oversight.

You can't beat the location of this hotel - it is steps from the entry to Manuel Antonio Park and has a walkway across the street that will take you directly to the beach. On the way to the beach, there was a Costa Rican porcupine in a tree that we could see and the beach was beautiful! As we arrived, there were monkeys playing in the wires out front, and in the trees at the property! The Garden room was minimal, but ok. The two-bedroom home was wonderful - spacious with a living room and place to eat, play games, etc. We appreciated the two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Parking was easy, right around the corner, and we were able to pay $10 and leave our car there until 5 pm the next day (about 24 hours). There is a lot of shopping, a small grocery store next door, and some great restaurants. You can tell that Ronnie cares a lot about the place and stays on top of everything. We hadn't realized that breakfast didn't start until 7 am, which was when we were supposed to meet our guide at the Manuel Antonio entrance. When we told Ronnie that the night before, he was very kind, suggested we get some food from the next door grocery store before it closed, and had some fruit set up for us to eat as we left that morning. I should have checked into the times breakfast was served ahead of time, but we still would have picked this hotel, walking into the park was so easy from this location and we really enjoyed the wildlife as well.

It is located right next to the entrance to Manuel Antonio park. So if you're going to visit the park, this accommodation is perfect for that. But you see almost as many animals at the accommodation as inside the park. We see capuchin monkeys, raccoons, iguanas, and so on. There is a flat and nice road down to the beach as well as lots of good restaurants around the hotel.

When the park is closed on Tuesdays, almost all restaurants are also closed. Which means that the few restaurants that are open mean that there is a bit of a wait for the food there instead

Location and staff were amazing! Can't beat being literal steps from the park. The staff was happy and friendly. Thank you Rony for the great local tips

The bathroom shower drain was partially detached and dangerous. I cut my foot on it. A better set up for unpacking would have been nice. Maybe more open shelves. Also.... and this is more for all of the hotels in Costa Rica.... for a country that doesn't flush toilet paper, I'm very surprised that bidets aren't a thing here.

This gem of a hotel is literally right on the edge of the Manuel Antonio National Park and some of the creatures find their way into the grounds, including capuchins, toucans, hummingbirds and iguanas. We had the Sloth villa which was 2 floors and plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 teens. Maid service was daily and there was a good value laundry option. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious and prompt, and for other meals there are lots of restaurants nearby (can recommend El Chante opposite). The staff are v laid back and helpful. The pool is small but perfectly fine for an afternoon chill after a busy tour. We were able to park for free nearby but otherwise secure parking is $10 a day close by.

La Posada has more of a chilled-out hostel vibe with a rustic Costa Rican look and feel rather than the super-polished photos on booking.com but it didn't disappoint and we met some interesting people who were staying at the same time. When we were there (June) as the park is closed Tuesday, many of the local businesses close early.

From the start Ronny was great. We became friends with him throughout the stay, even the kids loved him! We now call it affectionately “The Ronny hotel.” La Posada is a quaint small complex which was perfect. Being small we got to know other guests. Breakfast was good and filling with several options. Fresh drinking water was always available. We used the pool several times each day, it was clean and right in front of our room. The grounds were kept tidy and were full of greenery which gave a nice ambiance. Our room had the best covered patio with rocking chairs And a hammock which we loved! The beds were comfortable. A fan, air conditioning unit, fridge and microwave were included. Very close walk to the public beach, about 5 minutes and right next to Manuel Antonio National Park which you can’t drive in anyway. The beach pictures are of the beaches in the park. There were several restaurants on the street in walking distance. We will definitely stay here if we come to Costa Rica again!

I can’t think of anything that was negative.
