Friendly reception staff. Nice spacious room with good air con. Nice pool area with good happy hour! Lovely breakfast included. Amazing location for Manuel Antonio Park (200m up the road) and very short walk (in other direction) to beach for sunset. Hotel gave us a voucher for free bottle of wine at nearby restaurant Puerto Escondido - delicious!!! Tuna tartar was amazing. BIG portions. Live music! Hotel were helpful when we needed to organise a taxi to next destination at short notice.

Noisy air humidifier in the room.

Great location in the skirts of National Park, and hotel itself is a green oasis. A lot of animals comming to hotel yard from time to time. Rooms are comfortable, nice, quiet and cool in the evenings. We liked the pool, it is quiet and water is nice temperature. Personnel is very polite and cocktails in the bar are great. We loved breakfast too, a lot of fruit and nice cofee. A lot of restaurants near by for the dinner, but you can also try pizza from the oven in the hotel. Beach is also few minutes walk.

Missing shower handle (only shower top available) is only minus we found. Looks like soundproof is not so good as well, but all the guests were quit so it was not a problem.

Upgraded room to master suite which was a very nice gesture for our honeymoon, plus a bottle of red wine (3 nt stay). Fridge and microwave in room. Which was large and very comfortable massive bed and nice terrace area with sun beds.

Hard pushed but no tv in lounge area, so you had to watch tv from bed, also wasn't happy about when you left your key it was just placed in a.pot on the reception desk, which wasn't always staffed. No checks as to which key or questions from.staff (if there) about mat hing names to keys. Often different people throughoutthe day.. Beach is a bit grotty,but we made full.use of the pool area and sunbeds.

Very close to Manuel Antonio Park entrance - walkable distance. Can leave car safely parked at hotel while visiting the park. I would recommend getting the earliest possible entry ticket to the park to beat the crowds, and if checking out by noon, to give the full morning at the park. If staying more than one night and don't need to check out by noon, plan to bring a bathing suit to the park to enjoy the beach within the park in the afternoon (much nicer beach than the one in town). The hotel pool was nice to hang out at, and drinks were available by the pool. The rooms were small but adequate for sleeping, but not adequate for lounging if extended rain kept you inside.

We had suvh a great experience staying in Master suite. It has view on the forest which enabled us to see a lot of roes, boars (or something similar), monkeys, tucans and much more. Breakfast was tasty but somewhat limited. Location is wonderful, walking distance to beach and National Park. Highly recommending to stay here!

The atmosphere was relaxed and the facilities well thought through and beautiful. The place is surrounded by palms, iguanas, basilisks and monkeys, but was also always extremely clean. I loved that both accommodations we stayed in as a family had very well equipped kitchens, which gave us the flexibility that we needed as a family. The family suite was absolutely divine. The common room was enormous and so beautiful. If you wake up early in the morning you can observe the monkeys taking a walk on the electricity cables and surrounding trees (often with their babies!) from the terrace.

La vela boutique is a beautiful, small, pleasurable hotel located in the heart of Manuel Antonio beach. Me and my 2 friends decided to take the bus from San Jose and we were conveniently dropped off right down the hill from our hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted and taken to our room where there was a king size bed and a full bed. There was AC and a lovely bathroom. The hotel also provides excursion recommendations. We went on the catamaran tour which we highly recommend($89 for 4 drinks and lunch included as well as snorkel gear) it was a lovely day with a photographer and lovely staff on board. Towels are provided by the hotel and can be exchanged for new ones. Also the hotel has an outdoor pizza oven and during our 2 night stay we got 4 pizzas

Only thing that was the water pressure in the shower. (Room 10)

We choose this hotel because we like boutique hotels - even so you never know what you get. We couln`t have been any happier with our choice. The Vela Boutique hotel met our expectations in any ways. Our two big connected apartments (5&6) were very stylish, spotless clean (on the first and all the other days), the outdoor kitchen facing towards the forest and two balconies were a real germ. Kitchen equipments (also basic groceries like coffee, oil and vinegar salt and pepper were provided, AC worked perfectly, bathroom had all amenities and water power and temperature could perfectly be adjusted. Beds were very comfy - thicker and thinner linen was available. All reception clerks were super friendly and helpful as well as the bartenders and restaurant staff for dinner and breakfast. Location is super - 2 minutes walk to Manuel Antonio (don`t forget to get your tickets in advance) and 2 minutes to the beautiful beach with spectacular sunsets. You can walk on the long beach for nearly one hour. We loved everything and would really like to come back. We can also recommend restaurant Espadilla - ask the reception they may give you a voucher for a bottle of white wine. We loved the food, the setting and the life music. Not on main street - you would`t find it without knowing.

Manuel Antonio is very brisky - beach offers all sports facilities, life music restaurants, street markets etc. Some people warned us before we got there that it might be too touristic. After so many abandoned and sparsely populated areas - we loved to be along other tourists and have a chat here and there.

You can park the car on site and walk to the beach or to Manuel Antonio national park. Lots of restaurants nearby as well. We saw iguanas, and monkeys while hanging out at the pool. Small boutique hotel so it never feels overcrowded. The freshly made pizza was really good.

The rooms are bit small specially if you are a family of 3 or more and need an additional bed. No closets. The Wifi stopped working more than once and it took them a while to get it fixed. We have a kid so that meant no TV while we had decided to hang out at the hotel. Flies are common in Costa Rica but we found flies inside the orange juice two days in a row.

Great location close to Manuel Antonio Park. We arrived very early as we had booked the park entrance at 7am and they let us leave our car. Staff on front desk and at breakfast were super friendly. They gave us a voucher for their sister restaurant and we had an excellent meal there. Room is basic, but has everything you need, quiet A/C and coffee making facilities.

We were only there 1 night, but if we had stayed longer I would have preferred a room on the 1st floor with a bit more natural light.
