My stay at Hotel Sveti Jakov is without a doubt the best hotel stay I have ever experienced. The hotel itself is so beautiful, and the room we got was lovely, spacious, beautiful, and had a fantastic view. Everything was always kept clean and tidy. The breakfast was outstanding, and it was so pleasant to start each day with this feast provided by the hotel staff. However, what stands out the most is how wonderful and welcoming the staff was. Throughout my stay, all the hotel staff made every effort to make our experience at the hotel the best it could be. Overall, our stay at the hotel was absolutely magnificent, and I look forward to coming back and staying at Hotel Sveti Jakov again. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to any traveler looking for good accommodation in an incredibly beautiful setting at a well-located hotel, and especially where you feel that the staff prioritizes your excellent experience.

We had absolutely wonderful time staying in Hotel Sveti Jakov. It is an secret gem of Opatija, small, private, boutiquish, with excellent facilities, comfort, beautiful historical building and interiors. Not just a stay, it was an experience. The hospitality of Mikhaela brought the stay for us to another level, she made us feel so welcomed and home. We are definitely going to come back again and make Hotel Sveti Jakov our favourite destination for romantic getaway.

Everything was just wow! First of all, I really liked that the hotel is small and cozy. The staff is super attentive and just pleasant people you want to talk to. Breakfasts… that’s a whole other story — fantasy on the edge of a culinary fairy tale. Very tasty! 😋 The beach is literally two steps away. Although the hotel doesn’t have its own private beach, you can either lay out your stuff for free or rent sunbeds - 25 euros for two with an umbrella. And they’re so comfy that I seriously thought about buying one for home 😂 The bed is truly royal - both in length and height! I slept like a lion on a throne 😄 There’s also a nice park nearby - perfect for evening walks. I sat on a bench in the shade, opened a book, fresh air around, birds singing… Romantic! Just don’t forget mosquito spray to enjoy it fully. Definitely recommend! 🌟

The hotel is in fact a beautifully restored villa from end of 19th century. Being there you can feel how was it to be in Opatija 130 years ago. From one side the hotel is facing historical main street of Opatija and from the other side beautiful St. Jakov park across which is the sea and beaches. The hotel is conveniently located in centre of Opatija so you can have a nice walk on the seaside and get anywhere in the city on foot. Hotel personal is very friendly, kind, and helpful and for breakfast they offer range of sweet and salty food, all of them very good. They even have a machine so you can even squeeze your own fresh juice.

Parking is a bit trickier. No, you don’t need any special driver’s skills to park, but if you’d park there for a longer period when multiple guests with cars are there, they’ll ask you for your car keys because they may need to move the cars in order to unpark those which came earlier.

The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and professional, making me feel welcome and cared for throughout my stay. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and their service really made the difference. The room was spotless, elegant, and extremely comfortable – a perfect blend of luxury and classic charm. Kevin (the cleaner) was very open and kind and even created a dog and a swan for us out of towels! I especially appreciated the attention to detail in both the design and the amenities provided. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options, and the setting was both relaxing and refined. Mushrooms were amazing! Sveti Jakov is a property that truly understands hospitality at the highest level. If you’re looking for a flawless stay in Opatija, look no further. I will absolutely return and recommend it to everyone I know.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Hotel St. Jakob in Opatija. The location could not be more perfect—right in the heart of the town, surrounded by beautiful parks and just steps from the sea. The hotel itself has a charming, historic character combined with modern comfort, making it both elegant and cozy. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, always ready with a smile and helpful recommendations that made our time in Opatija even more enjoyable. The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. We are very thankful for the warm hospitality, the welcoming atmosphere and the thoughtful gift we received there. Everything about this hotel is exceptional. The location is incredible, the rooms are classical, in pristine condition, the breakfast is by far one of the best I've experienced. Cherry on top is the hotel staff, absolutely everyone is incredibly kind, professional and charming.
