We were looking for a place for a short stay between Vienna and Prague and selected Brno and the Grand Palace. We feel like we hit the jackpot. The town is very nice with lots to see and explore. Easy to walk. The highlight is the Grand Palace Hotel. A true gem. From a fantastic, warm welcome provided by Tomas at the front desk to a large, very comfortable guest room. Listening to piano music in the lobby with a glass of wine was amazing. Highly recommend this hotel. For an additional fun treat, visit the Dohoda Beer House just behind the hotel. Say hi to David the fun bartender. Highly recommend the Grand Palace Hotel and a stay in Brno.

Positives: ✅ Spacious and comfortable room, providing plenty of space to relax. ✅ Stunning indoor patio, adding a touch of elegance to the hotel’s ambiance. ✅ Unique experience – a harpist performing modern hits was a delightful surprise and made the stay even more special. ✅ High-quality bathroom amenities, which added a luxurious touch. ✅ Excellent location, right next to St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, making it perfect for exploring Brno.

Negatives: ❌ No dedicated parking, requiring guests to park on surrounding streets or use valet parking, which is quite expensive. Overall, Grand Palace Brno offers a fantastic stay with beautiful interiors, excellent service, and unique experiences. If parking is not a major concern for you, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

Location is quite good. Within walking distance to Spilberk castle and town centre. To the station, catch tram 12 if you carry luggage as the walking path is not too suitable for our suitcase. Room is very large. Comfortable bed. Breakfast has good varieties.

Let's start with the reception area. It's very small, with only enough space for 2 people. I won't call this a 5 star standard. Next, while the room is large, it is also lacking of furniture that it appears empty. The TV is also too small for the size of the room. About the TV, it is not easy to operate as it's quite temperamental. The reception is often not good. The breakfast hall reminds me of a canteen or school dining hall.

Wonderful rooms! Very nice and clean with great facilities. The staff were very helpful — they managed to ensure that there were flowers and chocolates waiting in the room for my wife after we arrived. She was thrilled about this as it was her birthday. The next day some sparkling wine was delivered in ice for her. We also enjoyed the massage, sauna, and other features of the hotel, such as room service. The big guy on the door was also very funny, we appreciated his humour. The hotel was also good enough for Czech President, Petr Pavel, who stayed there at the same time we did. Truly, everything was fantastic at Barcelo.

Really beautiful, modern hotel right at the edge of old town. Our room was spacious and nicely designed. AC worked very well, which was needed in this heat (35-37C). Bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was also large (two sinks!, one standing shower, and one tub/shower combo). Staff was very helpful and the valet service takes care of your car. Breakfast was exceptional: lots of options, including hot dishes, smoked salmon and brie.

We had an issue with our room locking properly, but maintenance quickly took care of it. The top floor's hallway gets pretty warm in sunny, warm weather but you only spend a few seconds there waiting for the elevator, so this is a very minor issue.

Great location above the market, near the Spilberk Park and within easy driving distance of the Austerlitz Three Emperors battle site.

The numbering system for the rooms is a little confusing since the number for the floor is separate from the number for the room and on our floor (4th), rooms # 401 - 403 came down a long hall past room # 428. Also, the receptionists were excellent but perhaps should be a little more conversant with the history of the area to guide guests in the right direction (e.g., our receptionist was not aware of the Austerlitz battle site or Slavkov Castle)

The room was quite big, even the bed is enormous! The staff was super nice and friendly! The hotel is right in the city center. I can totally recommend the Wellness facilities, they looked very maintain and new. The breakfast is really good! lots of options, even vegan yoghurts!

There were 2 spots of blood on our bedsheet and 1 in the floor, which was weird. There's no kettle, only a Nespresso machine, so if you want to make tea, you will only get hot flavoured coffee water instead

Everything was Outstanding, to include common areas, location, room size and amenities, etc…other than the bedding (see below). We were on the second floor, with high ceilings in the room…outstanding room.

Wanted a king size bed…ended up with two twin beds shoved together…have only seen this in Europe. Mattresses were very comfortable, but pillow quality and feel were marginal. In their defense, I never asked for feather pillows or something with a less “foam” feel…perhaps they had something different available. In any case, provided pillows could be improved.

The room was super spacious, very tidy and well equipped. What I find super convenient is the desk where I could work, along with a fast internet connection. Complimentary coffee was a nice touch and the breakfast buffet was great. The location is very central, you cannot get much more central than this.

The hand shower hose broke (basically fell off the handle). Just a minor inconvenience, though. I would appreciate the TV in the room to be a Smart TV with AirPlay so that I could play my own music, etc. Probably the most disconcerting, though, was the introduction of a card-enabled entrance to the hotel lobby. This is a new feature, and even though I understand the reasoning behind as it was explained to me by the lovely reception staff, I just find this incredibly inconvenient, even hostile, it just creates a bad atmosphere in my opinion. I would say that simply having a doorman would be much friendlier and more "chic".
