It is extremely clean. Everything is clean. The toilet is always clean, haven't seen it dirty not a single time. Living room and common room also clean. When a place is that clean, ppl feel ashamed if they don't clean their things back. If a place is dirty, nobody is gonna care about cleaning. The place is super quiet, everyone is super respectful. Around 20 beds but it has 2 toilets and 2 showers, separated, so won't find any queue for shower There's a guy who works there, he does the check in and clean. Very nice guy. Surprisingly, he was always there. At lunchtime he was there, and sometimes I was coming back late at night (2-3 am) and he was there also. He's always working at his computer in the reception. Idk when he sleeps (if he does), but if you ever have a problem I'm sure he can manage it Also it's just in the city centre, 2 minutes walk from everything (tho in Brno everything is close)

It's a perfect place. Just maybe too perfect. Too quiet (I'm Spanish and maybe a little bit noisy). Also the price, little bit expensive for a hostel, I travelled for 2 weeks and was the most expensive place I was in

I loved everything. It’s quiet, super comfortable, clean, the staff and the people staying at the hostel were really nice:) i arrived way before the check in and they already had my bed ready! Im very grateful for that. Amazing experience, will definitely visit again❤️

i guess for some people it would be a little messy, not everything is completely organised as its a very small place. but for me it’s perfect, makes it even cosier:) if you’re looking for something fancy definitely not though😅

It was totally price/performance place, clean and comfortable, beds and sheets are clean, lockers for each bed is good thought, and also the common area and kitchen also good designed and cozy area, also clean. Bathroom and toilets are enough for the place, both were clean. Location is really good and you can walk the city from that location. And for the last the owner was very kind and friendly, speacial thanks to him that providing us a good hostel:)

Great location and very close to the bus station Grand Hotel. I arrived late but I was able to find some decent meal within a walking distance.

I was told my room was number 4 and bed number 4, as I got in I could easily find my room as numbers where on all room doors and then I started looking for the bed number 4. I thought the numbers could be written somewhere but I couldn't find any number, so I just picked the one I thought it was the forth according to beds arrangement. I hope I didn't disturb other guest when I was searching for "number 4" with my flashlight on.

Hostel John Galt enjoys an enviable location that truly can't be beaten, situated right in the pulsing heart of Brno. This prime positioning makes it an ideal base for exploring the city, with easy access to local attractions, dining, and nightlife. The hostel's design is tastefully done, blending modern aesthetics with functional spaces, particularly noticeable in the common areas where guests can cook and prepare meals. This adds a nice touch of home-away-from-home comfort which is especially appreciated by those looking to stay in and enjoy a quiet evening. The staff, mainly managed by one individual who both lives and works there, deserves a special mention. He was friendly and exceedingly helpful, providing assistance and local knowledge that greatly enriched my stay. It's clear he is deeply invested in the hostel; however, the intensity of managing such a busy establishment single-handedly sometimes showed through in moments of apparent frustration. While this was slightly off-putting at times, it didn’t significantly detract from the overall positive interaction.

While the larger dorm room occasionally had an unsavoury smell that came and went, the smaller dorms did not seem to share this issue. It’s a minor concern but one that would enhance the overall comfort if addressed. Unfortunately, the elevator was out of service during my stay, which meant frequent treks to the top floor. While not ideal, it was manageable and did little to dampen the experience of a city-centric stay. The price point is notably high for a hostel, which may influence budget-conscious travellers.

Good kitchen to cook and make a meal, nice space for sharing with people living room and have a chat or do your own business, the owner was super helpful even giving me iron and vacuum cleaner for some stuff.

Only thing a lady took my bed by mistake and 100% convinced it was hers so clarified with the owner I took the one assigned to her. Misunderstandings can occur in any situation. And the locker was maybe a bit small if you travel with big backpack or luggage you need to be comfortable having it around.

Wonderful location- in the city center. Supermarket and DM are nearby. Cozy rooms. Feels like you are in someone’s apartment. There’s a washing machine and a nice living room/kitchen.

No personal room keys, so, no chance to lock the room. The concierge leaves the property at 7pm and all the inhabitants are left alone (luckily, there were no problems…but I would feel safer in a locked room). Bathroom is tiny and uncomfortable but that’s just my opinion.

Central, small but cozy place close to the bus station. You can grab their hairdryer and other stuff for free! Decent place to sleep if you are in the city.

A weird thing was that just outside of my room there was a guy sleeping on a couch, that felt sketchy. Was not a problem for me, but as I said, weird. Thought maybe he was a friend of hostel personnel who needed a place to sleep…

Everything. The place was in the center, close to the train and bus station. It was clean and well-equipped. There was good wifi. The receptionist was very helpful in everything I needed, he even managed to let us fo the check in earlier than the official time, with my friend and leave our baggages there. After check out, it was still pkay to be in the common area until your bus came or leave your luggage there.

The only thing I would have loved is a curtain on the small window in my bedroom, even though, no one could see in.

The location was amazing. Everything I needed was within walking distance. Everything looked great and clean. Personal was really nice. We all had a lil' lamp by our beds that was adjustable and the common room was fabulous. I felt really nice while working on my project there ^^.

Just wanted to say that the bathroom could use a bit more love, but I could see that it was in progress so amazing ^^. Fix one of your water tabs please, it was loose. Like a lot xD.
