It's a traditional Cretan Village style place that you can enjoy being a tourist. The breakfast included stuff that any local would usually eat, you do not choose but get a variety that is available this day, omelets, eggs, pies, yogurt etc. If you rent a car to move around the island and need to organize a group event of a sort - it's perfect. There is an orthodox little chappel on the territory. There is a taverna and a minimarket, treatment like you are guest at your friends house style. I personally think it's amazing for winter time, it has a fireplace in each room. A/C is also there. Wifi - only available at Reception. If you have troubles walking, think of it and prepare, as it has uphills and stone pavements. You can get iron from Reception too. Very friendly people.

Atmosphere! Built to imitate a village, and each Sunday and Tuesday they re-create traditional village life for a busload of visitors, and we enjoyed observing the activity Sunday morning. Good food each breakfast, also dinner, and one evening we shared the best cheese-stuffed peppers appetizer! The pool was lovely though we didn't take time for swimming while there. The view from the eating patio is lovely, shaded by trees, so nice to stay there for several days as we visited Crete.

In all of Greece you cannot put toilet paper in the toilet. There's a lidded trash can for that purpose. Takes some getting used to.

Hotel (the only one?) located in the charming village of arolithos, worth spending a couple of nights there. Room is basic but is clean and comfortable. Quiet there. Reasonably priced. Nice restaurant next to the place (part of the hotel I believe).

Overpriced breakfast if not included in the reservation. Some mosquitoes around.

Pool is beautiful, especially at night. The breakfast space in the shade of the trees with the amazing view is fantastic. The hotel is constructed like a small traditional village which gives it this delightful rustic feel. Perfect for getting away from it all.

No WiFi in rooms and ethernet does not work either. Poor phone signal too. Pool not 100% clean. Airconditioning didn't work very well. A but too much noise at night with all the weddings and baptisms.

Loved this place. Great location close to heraklion but also rural. The old village style of the hotel felt authentic even though it's not, the outside restaurant seating area with views under the trees was stunning.Great food. Most of all I loved the fact that we were made to feel very welcome, Chris and Georges in the restaurant were particularly attentive, chatting to us and answering all our questions. Oh and not forgetting the cats, dog, goats and parrot.

It felt authentic yet modern. It offered amazing views over the city and the bay. It was very very quiet though. Kids had a wonderful time and the pool was busy till 11pm- multilingual shouting and lots of laughter.

For some reason we believed that there would be some workshops and live music.

Great location outside Heraklion with amazing views. The recreation of a Cretan village is wonderful and makes you feel like you are not staying at a hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the tavern for breakfast and in the evening. Good and rich breakfast and many good options for dinner.

We stayed there during the weekend and we were not aware this is also a wedding venue. The Cretans party until late at night and like their music loud. We advise you check if they have any planned events during your stay as sleep might be a challenge.

Stunning location & setting with stunning mountain views, super friendly & helpful staff, excellent breakfast & evening menu, nice & spacious rooms, interesting craft opportunities, integrated shop with excellent local produce

Sometimes loud music until early in the morning; the cobbled stone paths can be difficult to walk on for people with mobility issues

The pool is very nice and relaxing. The village is surrounded by nature, so a beautiful panorama can be admired from multiple spots. Sometimes a typical Cretan show, made of music and dances, takes place while having lunch: it is nice to dive into the Greek tradition.

Although it is nice to be immersed in such an exotic scenario, the village is a little bit far from the nearest town (Heraklion is 15m away by car); for me it was not really a big issue, anyway.

Beautuful, traditional decor in rooms and lovely little village.
