Location was superb for our purposes. Had three nights of great sleep and breakfast was really good in the property restaurant (41). Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We couldn't take advantage of the pool, etc (would have been great after skating the canal), because we foolishly forgot swimsuits.

The property was so close to parliament hill and walking distance to the market while also being close to Quebec. Our room was on the 10th floor with a view of the unknown solider memorial and the chateau Laurier, it was perfect! The lobby was clean and all the staff were lovely and pleasant to speak to. One of the front desk receptionists named Julie was beyond helpful and a joy to speak with.

The pool was quite small and filled up quick with all those who wanted to swim. There wasn’t enough room is swim comfortably with so many people in both pool and hot tub. We were also not informed of the valet parking only for $40/night when we booked. The booking page just said there was parking on site. Luckily one of the valet’s and receptionists told us about the city hall parking for much less across the street which was very much appreciated! There were also some ants in our room when we first checked in coming from a hole in a window.

Location is amazing! Property is well kept and the restaurant and bar serve great food!

I know it's hard to deal with issues of heating and the fans at night. But it's a challenge with the fan blowing even on low. But, when I turn it off, the room cools down. I'm just a bit sensitive to air blowing over my head at night.

We loved the comfy beds and the air conditioning. We liked the look of the bathroom and the turbo power of the toilet.

One day a housekeeper knocked on the door but we had not left yet, and said we would be gone in half an hour. That was at 9:00 a.m. (We didn't have anything on the door). We came back at 4:00 p.m. and the room was not done so we had to call down and go to the pool and then it was done between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The location is excellent. We left our car in the parking garage for 2 days and walked everywhere - museums/shopping/restaurants and the Rideau Canal Skateway. I really like that there was a small fridge in the room which we used. Bed and bath linens were good quality/clean. Everything was very good which we expected for a 4 star hotel. We would stay here again for a short stay.

The room and bathroom were quite small. If I wanted to do yoga or stretching there wouldn't be enough space in our classic queen room. The keurig coffee machine and accompanying coffee pods weren't great so we walked to the nearby Starbucks when we didn't want to go to the restaurant in the hotel.

Excellent location. Friendly staff at front desk and in the restaurant and the valet. Breakfast was very good and our room was comfortable.

My daughter’s bed had an improperly sized sheet on it which was taken care of quickly by housekeeping. We just couldn’t believe that this was allowed to happen! The bath towels are very small. It seemed like we waited a long time for the valet to retrieve our car upon check out at 9am.

We enjoyed using the swimming pool & hot tub. It was nice to also have access to the gym. Our room was cozy, clean, and met our standards. Being able to adjust the temperature on our own was easy and simple. The location was the best part. This hotel was close to many restaurants and tours. We visited Parliament Hill which was nearby. The Rideau Centre was very convenient to do some last minute shopping. Overall, everything went smoothly while staying at Lord Elgin Hotel. We especially noticed the nice customer service in the hotel and restaurants in the area.

The location of the Lord Elgin is perfect for exploring Ottawa - we walked everywhere. The staff was friendly and efficient. The beds were very comfortable. Good lighting - really liked the small reading lights at the each corner of the headboard. All amenities you could want were provided. The hotel has a very nice ambience. The rooms and public areas of the hotel were well maintained. Entrance is easily accessed upon arrival by car - valet parking made our arrival and departure very convenient. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Location is great and walking disctance to everything special ..room good size, perfect to stay , rest after much walking , bed comfy , bathroom nice! Everything functional and looking good!

Hotel itself is nice, but luck of something fresh.. look dull and boring ..it’s classic style but bit outdated in my view.. nothing special in design to look warm. Of course people who work there compensate this with their smiles and kindness! I just think hotel somewhat represents Canada, and could do its better than now.
