Beautiful building. The pod dorm is designed so well that it’s just shocking how nice is the experience to stay and sleep there. The location couldn’t be better to explore Aarhus.

No kitchen whatsoever, not even drinking water tap or kettle. The food is sold at the restaurant but the reception workers can’t advise on its contents. There is a bar and outside people come to play mini golf and drink. There was a huge pool of puke right at the front door on the night when I arrived.

The golf is fun, the lockers are spacious and easy to use, the location is amazing, so close to Den Gamle By, ARoS, Salling Rooftop, and so many restaurants, the atmosphere is lively, and there are so many social events. The staff was helpful in letting me change my room when there was a nuisance in my original room. The bathroom and shower are separate in the rooms so they rarely get backed up, there are shades on the pod beds that keep most of the light off of you.

The lockers are noisy to lock and unlock, the lights in the rooms are automatics, so it is easy to wake people up/ get woken up.

I liked that there was lots of activities in the common areas, and that it was very relaxed and quiet in the dorm. The breakfast was really good. I liked that it was high quality food with a perfect amount of different foods to choose between.

It was a bit difficult to climb up the ladder to the top bed, because the ladder wasn’t properly secured. I also think it would’ve been nice if there was a small common area with a kettle, so that I could’ve made some tea and noodles for myself. A cup of tea costed 25 dkk in the bar, which I found a bit expensive.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at BOOK1 Design Hostel for three days, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and friendliness of the staff made me feel right at home. The environment exudes tranquility, making it a perfect oasis in the heart of Aarhus. One of the standout features of this hostel is its prime location. It's a mere 12-minute walk from the city center, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city's attractions. But what truly sets BOOK1 apart is the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to assist me, especially when I faced challenges with local taxi services. They promptly stepped in and arranged a taxi for me, ensuring I had a hassle-free experience. In summary, BOOK1 Design Hostel offers a harmonious blend of comfort, convenience, and top-notch service. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Aarhus and looking for a memorable stay.

Great location next to the river and all you wanna see in town is in walking distance - loved it. The bed pods are very spacious and cosy with thick curtains, lights and a towel is also included. Breakfast hours from 7-11am give you lots of flexibility and breakfast was nice and the staff working there is lovely.

Unfortunately the bathrooms and showers lack some privacy, no doors or curtains and you need the key card for literally every single door. Also lacks a bit the typical hostel vibe - it's rather a place for Danish school classes and families/couples. As a solo traveler maybe not the most social place to be.

This was hands down the largest bunk/capsule bed I have thus far stayed in! The bed was pretty wide (I'm think 120 cm, much wider than your regular bunk beds), plus the bunk had some space for small items. The facilities are very modern, the lockers are operated also by your key card, so no separate lock needed. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, and they deal with you very swiftly. The room area was quiet despite sitting next to a bar and mini golf arena. Location is fantastic, only a few minutes from ARoS on foot, the train station, and the Åboulevarden, and basically next door to Vesterport area. Towel was included too! I truly enjoyed my stay there!

My two minor discomforts were that 1) in my floor the toilet was very limited to the total amount of beds in the floor (I think there's like 30-something beds on the same floor) with only 2 cubicles, the showers and extra toilets are downstairs, but when I was there it was relatively quiet in the times I needed them most. 2) it would be nice to have a hanger for jackets or towels; I had to hang my towel on the 'fence'. As mentioned, there were 30+ beds in one floor, but some of them are arranged as 8-bed smaller sections which felt a bit more private. The lockers are not under the beds - but I know this is normal hostel operation, so it wasn't such a big deal.

Everything works brilliantly here. Free lockers to store your luggage on departure, knowledgeable, friendly staff, great breakfast, fantastic location. We loved playing mini golf (extra charge) and the place had a calm but fun atmosphere. A mixture of families, backpackers and local young people populate the spacious communal areas. It feels safe and well thought out with lots of little ‘extras’ give it a feeling if a hotel rather than a hostel. The rooms themselves are equally well designed.

If given the choice maybe try and select a room not in the basement which can be a bit gloomy and overlooked by the passers by.

The place is amazing. I was a bit concerned about the fact I was staying in a huge room with I don't know how many beds, but the "pods" are big, you have plenty of space, they are super comfortable and you have a curtain to close and give you all the privacy you would want. The staff is amazingly friendly and all areas are beautiful.

Nothing really, maybe they could add hairdryers in the shower areas, but it's a really small detail, I have short hair and dried it with the hand drier :)

Location was excellent, near the city centre and the harbour. The staff were friendly, and I paid an additional cost for the buffet breakfast - the range of food was good. The beds were comfortable and spacious. The room was quiet. Luggage storage was available.

The bed that I was allocated was in the basement, with no natural light. It's ok for a night, but I probably wouldn't like it if I was there for longer. Also, all the showers in the women's bathroom were open, except for 1 (with a shower curtain). After checking out, I went for a run. I would have liked to be able to use the shower upon my return (as I had to collect my bag), but this wasn't allowed.

Great location, staff were inviting and super friendly and local knowledge of where to eat, about the city etc was very helpful. Great breakfast and our family enjoyed the quiz night. Adults relaxed with a local beer and wine after a day of exploring. Comfy beds and room of 6 beds was great for our family of 5 as it had its own shower and toilet. Added bonus of allowing us to leave our bags in a secure room while we explored one more place before we left. Would definitely recommend a stay, and we will be back!

Menu had limited choice for kids, but what was on offer was very tasty.
