Check-in We arrived quite late about 10pm but were greeted at reception by Marina who took the time to chat to us about what we wanted out of our stay. Room - Opal Opal was fab: big bed, wonderful air con, the shower had good water pressure. We loved the little gecko 🦎 couple. Breakfast/food Served down by the pool. Lots of condiments (butter, honey, 3 types of cheese, apricot jam, marmalade) and Egyptian bread are provided. We were given a choice of muesli, toast, different types of omelette, fresh bananas from the field next door(maybe?), sweet melon (honey dew or gala?) Lovely coffee. The menu was changed every day. Nice different salads, cooked meats with rice. I had a really nice beef and orange dish which was really good. A choice of a few desserts. My husband is vegetarian/vegan and Marina made such an effort to make sure he had some choices. He said no to the Okra tho! 😂 Excursions The first day we took the free ferry over to the east bank. Before we went we asked about coming back and they gave us the hotel WhatsApp number. We walked 2mins to the main road and there was a bank where we could get money and it was easy to get a taxi down to the temples. When we were ready to go back we got the taxi to drop us off near the bank and messaged the hotel. The boat was there in 5mins. We knew that the hotel offers to book the excursions so we asked for a driver for the West Bank one day. Tarek was so good at explaining everything and such a laugh. Lovely air conditioned car too. We also booked the hot air balloon too. We were the first balloon to lift off but not the last to land. It was amazing! Totally recommend booking through the hotel! Notes This boutique hotel is for people who want a peaceful experience. I loved the view, the birds, the quiet. Towels are provided by the pool and dressing gowns in your room to walk down to the pool. It was fab chatting to Marina, learning more about Egypt and having a laugh.

It is a very unique property so may not suit those used to more conventional hotels. The details in decoration everywhere were wonderful- so much to see and so many interesting pieces. The dome ceilings and hanging lights a marvel. So beautiful all lit up at night. The owners very helpfully arranged a fantastic felucca trip at sunset and car to easily take us to our flight in the evening. Majority of staff were great and particularly with my son. The pool was spotless - and wonderful to lie there watching the comings and goings on the Nile. Kudos to the pool guy who was so cheerful and never seemed to stop, keeping things in good shape in the whole area. It was an ideal place to end our trip to Egypt and relax and wind down before our return home.

The restaurant excelled at more local regional dishes- the Iraqi chicken curry being one - but more western “fusion”dishes were disappointing and over cooked (fish and chicken ).

What an amazing place, as you drive in through the back streets of the West Bank of Luxor you wonder where you are going, and then you arrive and get taken in the reception area and you see the view to Nile and Luxor and we were blown away. The owner greets you and tells you the story of the building of the hotel, and then offers the sort advice you need for your stay in Luxor. We took the boat across the river which makes life so easy for getting around, a quick WhatsApp when you’re done and they come and collect you. The room was large, clean and cool, even without the air con. The food was really good and we were surprised when the menu changed every day. Trips were easy to arrange, and in fact nothing was too much trouble.

The owner who is also the architect of the building did an amazing job at designing the place, it’s truly magnificent. All the staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the pool guy, he’s extremely friendly. What’s also great is that the hotel has it’s own boat to go to the east bank. Overall a really great hotel to stay at!

We really enjoyed our stay at Djorff Palace. These are some feedback points to make it even better: - The shower pressure was not great in one room and bad in the other room. - The wifi connection is not great. - The menu of the restaurant doesn’t have the best variety. It’s very tasty but there’s not really something simple for a lunch for example. - The boat driver is quite slow sometimes when it comes to actually driving the boat. He should give it some more gas to speed up the trip.

Had a wonderful holiday because we stayed in this unique hotel. The staff couldn’t have done more for us. We felt like royalty. The food was exceptional (I’m a chef and very picky) especially breakfast and dinner, with a daily change to the menu, with only 4 or 5 choices but that indicates the freshness of the food. Always a fish and vegetarian option, and gorgeous deserts. The owner Marina pointed us in all the right directions for tours and put forward solid suggestions and ideas to keep us on track , having fun and understanding the doos and don’ts to get the most out of the 4 days we stayed . Loved being on the West Bank, with the hotel right on the Nile, beautiful gardens leading down to the river, and a lovely heated pool. We stayed in “Opal” private and spacious. Lovely shower, comfortable big bed, and a private terrace to sit outside with lovely views . Also a private boat to take you across to the east side for $2 !!

Absolutely nothing

It was a very beautiful place and location to stay for our day to rest after Nile cruise, short but sweet! My niece kept saying that the place was like being in start wars, haha don't remember the name of the planet. We loved the room, it was very comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff and dinner and breakfast had adequate options. Our flight was early evening, they were very accommodating and let us have access to the room until we left at 5pm. Thanks a lot!

No alcohol served, which wasn't a big deal but we would have loved to have some in our last dinner in Egypt. Ambient music in the restaurant could be a good improvement too. Oh and as much as I like birds, I think it would be good if something could be done so they don't nest in the balconies of the property, no just about the noise but the dirt.

The place is beautiful, quiet and just stunning. Amazing staff, beautiful rooms, the owner marina and staff were so accommodating. We felt very comfortable and peaceful while staying there. Wonderful breakfast and our Sapphire room was stunning 😍 West Bank doesn’t have all the hustle and bustle that is over in East Bank, and it’s more local, getting the authentic Egyptian feel. There’s a complementary boat to take you across East Bank and into the busy chaos where taxi drivers and horse cart drivers start to haggle to take you around. We just wanted to take some cash out 😂 and got spoken to by 4 different people within 10mins. If you like quiet and relaxation, the I’d recommend to stay here. If you like night life and easy access to everything then perhaps East Bank.

We understand how much care and thought have been placed into this place and the design in each room, and as we are a morning coffee and tea people, would have been 110% if there was coffee and tea available in the rooms. ♥️

Authentic, charming hotel on West Bank, very quiet and with excellent staff, great restaurant, lovely pool area and outdoor breakfast place, and easy boat service to the more lively East bank. Owner provided great recommendations for tour guides, transport and restaurants and was very accessible and interesting to converse with. Overall, excellent value and very easy access to the fantastic sites on the West Bank.

Diamond room bed was small for 2 and was a bit hard, but room and balcony were still lovely. Water pressure was weak for showers and made it very challenging to fill bathtub.

The hotel and its staff were completely as I had expected/hoped for. The location was perfect, the views exceptional, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the service second to none in my opinion. I particularly liked the water taxi service across the Nile and the location on the West Bank ensured ease of access to all of the major sites on that side. The water taxi also allowed very easy access to Karnak and Luxor Temple. Also, the location in a rural environment meant peace and calm after strenuous days visiting the sites. Mention must also be made of Marina, the owner, a characterful force of nature with a heart of gold! Highly recommend.

Beds too hard for me, but maybe ok if you this suits you. I felt that the lighting in the rooms could have been brighter. Maybe suited the style of the decor, but I felt that brighter lighting would have actually enhanced this.

After a busy day seeing the sites it was a delight to return to the tranquility of the hotel. Situated on the West Bank you are away from the hustle and bustle of Luxor and for early risers the sunrise is amazing. The complimentary boat ride across the Nile is such a lovely way to reach the hotel. Marina and her staff are all so friendly and helpful and the food, with new menus everyday is delicious

The lighting in the rooms could be better but this in no way detracts from this unique hotel. Go and enjoy the great location, architecture and service.
