It was a beautiful hotel. The location was spectacular. The Christmas Decor was divine. The room temperature was perfect. The bed was comfortable.

The cost of the room was too expensive for the size of the room. We had no view. It was noisy. The plantation shutters on the windows did not keep out light at night. We were woken up by housekeeping at 8:45 am, told them we were still sleeping. They proceeded to talk loudly amongst themselves outside of our room keeping us awake. The bathroom was small. The hot water ran out in the middle of my bath.

A very nice setting with tons of history

Too many people. Had no idea I could barely walk to front desk to check in. I understand it is a historical landmark and the public cannot be denied access but the waits for guests staying there was a bit too much.

Beautiful classic hotel - a local icon! Parking and valet were excellent, staff were generally helpful, facilities are very good and a good range of shopping and dining options... pricey but great quality. Pools were busy but clean and well managed and the overall ambience of the place is great.

We had significant issues in check-in due to travel delays including a dirty room assigned to us - but staff did what they could to help on the first night and then helped move us to an upgraded room afterwards... after which the stay was very good.

Location

Prices for the food was very high. $8 for a small bottle of water in their market. $89 per nite for parking. Personnel knew little about the property. Told us upon checking we didn’t need reservations for the restaurant and we went down and was told one hour at least. Many other examples of lack of knowledge about the hotel.

this hotel is beachfront on coronado island. it is historical & the archetecture is spectacular. the original victorian part of this hotel is rich in history & is known to be haunted. it has been a favorite of many presidents, celebrities & dignataries. there are very many amenities available. restaurants, bars, shops, cabana's ect. they are all top line but, be prepared they like the hotel are extemely expensive. the staff are also of the highest caliber from valet, front desk to maid staff. special kudos to the folks who work the beachfront services. all above excellent.

because of the ongoing restorations (which are necessary) the hotel was built n 1888, there are some areas of the hotel that are not accessable. this however is temporary.

Everything was a bit pricey.

The location is one of the best!

There was a constant booming sound w/in the walls, air pressure?..water pressure? Fortunately, staff brought a fan to muffle the sound.

It’s beautiful and full of history! The rooms were recently updated and gorgeous. The bathroom shower had a handheld nozzle and great water pressure. The TV was huge! They upgraded our room to oceanfront and we loved the view!

We didn’t like that it was a far walk to the restaurants or that there wasn’t room service.

Wonderful stay! I would suggest more restaurants to choose from. Only one restaurant for breakfast and one indoor restaurant for dinner. Staff was terrific! Beautiful property! We enjoyed our stay very much. It would be nice to have a comfortable chair in the room besides the desk chair. Also more hooks in the bath.

The hotel is situated in an unbelievably beautiful spot. The lobby has been refurbished and it is lovely.

This is an extremely expensive hotel, we chose a room in the Victorian heart of the hotel. The bed was fine, but the bathroom was unbelievable. A small sink, toilet and shower were squeezed together in about a 4 foot square space. The toilet was so close to the sink that extreme care was called for before sitting. I am 5 feet 3 inches tall and a taller or stouter person would not have fit in the space. In my California city this spacing would not have met the building code.
