Amazing Experience at Holiday Inn Johannesburg! I had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn in Johannesburg, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The hotel exceeded all my expectations, offering impeccable service and a comfortable environment. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep after a long day of exploring the city. The hotel's restaurant served delicious meals, and the breakfast buffet was a standout – fresh, varied, and catering to all dietary preferences. The location was perfect, situated close to major attractions and business hubs, yet offering a quiet retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. The security measures in place also provided peace of mind, making the stay even more enjoyable. Whether you're visiting Johannesburg for business or leisure, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn. It’s a great combination of comfort, convenience, and excellent service. I’ll definitely be returning!

The breakfast was wonderful with a complete selection of a continental/asian menu. The Waiters/Waitresses were extremely attentative. Congratulations should be given to the Reception Staff. The Lady who was in charge of the Transport Desk was extremely capable and ever ready to assist in tour bookings and advice to improve a visitor's choice. A huge thanks to Jim and Ben, the two main taxi drivers at the desk. Their knowledge of Jo'burg, it's people and history and the enviornment was of great assistance to my wife and self. If you wish for a secluded, peaceful stay, with no hassels, we cannot recommend the Holiday Inn Sunnyside Park, Johannesburg with great thanks so once again, thanks to everybdy.

The break fast was good , buy the pastries were not satisfactory

The corridors in the hotel carries the scent of the food from the kitchen including the dinning its self they need to work on the ventilation system of the kitchen The smell from the kitchen is too strong that it circulates you even when you leave the eating area I had to return to the room to freshen up again every time I would finish breakfast. And you need to do something to freshen up the corridors of the rooms from the smell coming from the kitchen

Beautiful building and entrance, funny staff (both reception and restaurant workers), decent breakfast, swimming pool & well-equipped gym, safety and the hot shower.

The travel desk to organise tours was unfortunately closed (Sunday). Therefore, prepare your Johannesburg visit in advance. Although knowing the safety risks of the city, only visiting made me realise how serious and impactful the situation is in terms of your decision-making as a visitor. Nothing the hotel can change of course.

Hotel was very clean throughout. Room was large, clean and had the required amenities including all the socket types. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast was buffet and was very good. Dinner was from a set menu which was the same every night but had enough choices for 4 nights. Large portions, steak was really good. Hotel compound was really lovely, big and relaxing. Staff were all very friendly.

Swimming pool was non-functional and unkempt - it looked abandoned. Hotel transport/taxi service is incredibly exorbitant and a rip-off. They quoted us 400 rands to Apartheid Museum which eventually cost us just 42 rands with Bolt taxi service. Don't use them! Hotel location is supposed to be in or close to a bad/dangerous location, so we were advised not to walk around the area. Though we ignored the advice and walked to and from Constitution Hill, which is not far away, without any issues. We are a black couple.

We arrived in Johannesburg a little apprehensive about safety after having a less than positive taxi ride, taking us around many unsafe areas. When we checked in, we were assured the hotel was in a safe area and we would be safe in the gated space. This was true - it was great having security and gates around the hotel. The staff were all so friendly - from front desk to housekeeping to porters to chefs to servers, transport and security. Always smiling, always asking after us. Nothing was too much trouble. We made use of the hotel shuttle - our driver Jimmy was brilliant - calm, friendly and knowledgeable, and his aim was to keep us safe at all times. We also used the hotel’s travel arm - going to Soweto, Apartheid Museum and Pilanesberg. Our drivers were incredible - courteous, patient, knowledgeable and friendly. I loved the little details at the hotel - the patterns on tje velour chairs showed just how focused on the little things the staff are. Great value for money - would recommend!

The bed was a little too firm for me. It could do with a mattress topper.

Very good property near to the main attractions. Lethu , Okhule and Nonhlahla. The names were interesting and people having these exciting names were super welcoming. I loved it when they treated me with a fruit platter . I would definitely stay here again. Food was good and stay was nice.

A party going in night in the yard. Unlucky me had got a room near to it. Had to go up and down three times as the room key stopped functioning.

Exceptional service by the staff. A special thanks to Millian who was of great assistance on Sat. As a black woman, you get nervous when you have to request another black woman for service. Most of the time, you are not recieved well. However, with Millian, it was a pleasanr experience. This proves that the staff is well trained and most importantly, is taken care of and is valued by the employer. So this is my view when it comes to staff behaviours in hospitality or retail service.

The location raises eyebrows but i appreciate the antiqueness of the building.

The location was perfect for my purpose (which was an event held at St Johns College Houghton) The hotel was unique in that it had old fashioned charm and was not a generic modern hotel.

2 small things: a desk lamp that had no light bulb; the door to the room would not lock when leaving the room. Both of these issues were reported to Reception and were quickly corrected. The receptionist who I dealt with was 'Millian' and I thought she was gracious, charming and efficient.

we party of 11 had a great stay , friendly staff , couldn't do enough for you, always with a smile .food was great , breakfast was wonderful , large choice of items .They opened the bar on the Monday just for us , was able to play pool and listen to music , Wonderful around
