Very nice, small hotel in a monument of 1930s modernism/constructivism architecture. I have always liked small, individual hotels, but not the concrete and glass skyscrapers of large hotel chains. Everything is perfectly arranged, even if you arrive at night when the hotel reception is not working. Breakfast is very good with a wide selection of dishes. There is a gas station nearby, if you want to grab a hot dog at night.

Everything was very good, maybe the hotel is not very close to the promenade, which is on both banks of the Aura River, but it is not a problem to walk and sit in the many cafes and taverns, many of which are located on anchored ships.

I arrived on the overnight ferry from Stockholm; hotel kindly arranged for my key card to be available with the people on duty in the breakfast room, and I was able to claim my room immediately, even though it was only half past eight in the morning! The breakfast was varied and delicious! Location is pretty good, not quite central, but right next to the bus station, five minutes' from the art gallery, ten minutes' from the train station, and about fifteen minutes' walk from the cathedral.

Room was a bit cold in the snowy Finnish winter - could have used a bit more heating (bathroom, by contrast, had underfloor heating and was quite cosy). Room could also have used one or two more plugs (there were none near the desk, so hard to set up with a laptop). Reception kept somewhat limited hours.

Breakfast was very good. Enough variety. Nicely reserved breakfast tables for hotel guests. Room was adequate, not luxurious, but enough. It was also quiet room which was nice. I could come again to Helmi-hotel.

The lamp in my room ( in the ceiling ) was broken. I told about it at reception immediately. I was told that It would take two days for a maintenance man to fix it. I think It is too long time. Finally It was fixed one day after my complaint. I think good customer service is to fix such things in few hours, not in few days.

The location is great, the hotel is right next to the bus stop, so if you're travelling from Helsinki/airport it's very convenient. I appreciated free tea/coffee machine in the hallway. The breakfast was good- bread, croissants, eggs, ham, sausages, cheese, tomato, cucumber, salad, cereal/granola, yogurt.

The bathroom fixtures are not the best quality. There is a shower curtain instead of a cabin. The toilet is made of a very cheap plastic. The bathroom is not soundproof at all.

I’ve stayed in Helmi before. There are cheaper places to stay in Turku, but between the excellent breakfast selection and the really convenient location by the bus station, I think Helmi offers good value for the money. The rooms are clean and pretty well equipped. I got lucky and was able to check in really early, because they happened to have one room empty. Really appreciated that! : ) I’m pretty sure I’ll be staying here next time when I’m coming to town as well.

It tends to be a bit chilly in the rooms, and the views/surroundings aren’t the nicest, so don’t expect a view. Also, it’s worth noting that the reception is not 24 hours. This means that you can only leave your luggage until the afternoon or so.

Small, cozy, very quiet hotel located next to central bus station in Turku which makes it a perfect starting point for trips in Turku and beyond. I went to Finland for hiking, and all the buses I needed to reach the trails had stops just outside of the hotel. City center, marketplace and the famous market hall are all within walking distance, reachable within 5-7 minutes but you can also commute two bus stops if you want. Breakfast buffet was amazing, wide choice of breads and buns, warm and cold food, veggies, fruit, even two types of coffee (milder and stronger one). I once bought a lunch in their cafe as well and I loved it - very homey, nourishing, tasty meals. In the hall there's also a coffee machine with a very good free coffee / tea for the guests and a microwave. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and well-kept, air conditioning is also there if you need it. Heated floor in the bathroom was a very welcome addition. The hotel provides several towels for each guest and hair-dryers are available in the bathrooms so it's perfect place to stay if you travel with minimum luggage. The staff was extremely nice and helpful with anything you need. Highly recommend!

Spacious, comfortable room, with equally comfortable beds and good blackout blinds/curtains. Good water pressure and temperature range from the shower, with the bathroom area benefitting from underfloor heating which helped to dry towels, etc, overnight. Helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was taken in the adjoining cafe, accessed by guests through an internal door from the hotel, although the cafe was open to the public - and proved popular(!) - so it was a little difficult to find a table despite a number of these being reserved for hotel guests. The range of breakfast items was, however, varied and provided a good start to the day. The hotel is located approximately 10 minutes walk from the old town area of Turku and provided us with a good base for our stay, exploring the town and its history. Overall this is a well-recommended place to which we will be happy to return if ever in the area again.

Even before my check in the very friendly stuff made sure that all was set for me to arrive and welcomed me so warmly! The room was big and comfortable with big windows and equipped with everything one might need. The location of the hotel is very close to the center and therefore you can reach all important spots in no time. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and has a great variety if different options that you can chose from! Hotelli Helmi is the place I'd recommend to everyone staying in Turku and was the best decision of this trip!

The woman working at the reception desk who checked me in, and also kept in touch with me up until my arrival was absolutely amazing! She even waited past closing time for me to get there! They closed at 8pm and I couldn't get off the ferry until 745pm. I got there around 815pm so I'm happy she didn't have to wait long! But honestly, people are never that nice or accommodating! She even booked a taxi to pick me up at 6am the next morning. The location was not far from the main train station, 4 miles from the airport I think, restaurants all around as well as shopping. I only needed to rest my head for the night and it was the perfect place. No frills, just 2 single beds, a bathroom with a shower, TV, and a little refrigerator. Very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Finland! Finland has the nicest people on earth! And not just because the news says they are, they truly are wonderful people and a great, beautiful country! ❤️

The receptionists were all so helpful. The room was great, very clean and quiet, with a bed that was super-comfortable. Breakfast choices were amazing. Shower was excellent, as were facilities for storing clothing and possessions.

The only think that could have been better would be if the cafe/breakfast area was open in the early evening, as there was no other communal area. The coffee and hot drink facilities in the reception were available at all times and this was much appreciated.
