Around 10 mins walk from the Sannomiya station. Very close to everything you could need and to a lot of Kobe attractions such as the Herb Garden. Stayed here a few nights and the breakfast was one of the bests in Japan! They always change it up, so it's not as repetitive. The deserts were always very good for a breakfast buffet. Staff is helpful, and there's a coffee machine free to use for guests at the lobby if you need to grab one for on-the-go or in your room. Overall, satisfying stay! Plus we had a great view of the temple and the mountains :)

The staffs are always wellcoming and kind. The room conditions are good in terms of cleaness and facility. Japanese-style breakfast is not sumptuous but quite good, with various sidedishes and deserts. A free access to a coffe machine on the lobby is also a good point for me. There is a microwave on the first floor, helping us in preparing kids' meals brought from a convenient store near the hotel. One of the most convenient points is that usb outlets are just next to beds, making charging electronic devices very easy without a converter. In terms of location, the hotel is a considerable option for travelers who want to walk around kobe's village not the crowded city center. The hotel is not far from the heart of the city, Sannomiya station --- ten minuites on foot, and just next to Ikuta shrine. Since this hotel is beyond the central streets of Sannomiya, the neighborhoods are calm and clean. Main attractions like Sorakuen and Kitano Ijinkan are easily accessable in 10 minutes on foot. Of course, Kobe city loop bus stop is not far from this place. Nearby the hotel, numbers of convenient stores, a couple of grocery shop, many restaurants are located. Services of this hotel are overall outstanding, including umbrella rental with free of charge.

As typical Japanese hotels, toilet of the hotel is also very small. The bed conditions are not really cozy, compared to other hotels. A smoking room is just next to the lifts, so one can smell smoke from time to time when awaiting.

Cosy room with all the necessary amenities. Ample instant hot water, nice deep bath. Very good location, close to transport and shops. The breakfast had a good selection of fresh food. I like Japanese food, so I was happy. We liked that you could choose whether to have your sheets changed on a daily basis, or amenities to be replenished etc. We don't need to have our sheets changed everyday!

The hotel cannot cater for everyones taste, but we found the mattress and pillows were a bit hard for us.

Staff had good communication in English and was detail oriented just like the service you would expect from a traditional Japanese business. Entrance, lobby area and the breakfast hall are nicely decorated. Towels and other amenities were provided at our door every day even though we requested no room cleaning services, which was very thoughtful! Room is insulated and we could barely hear any noise outside even though we had first room next to the elevator.

Room didn’t come with a closet and had limited hangers for clothes which wouldn’t be a big issue if you don’t have to wash your clothes.

The hotel with a lovely lobby and deco. It is in the quiet area which is good for family with kids. the triple room is still big enough to open luggage. It will offer free water everyday and the bathroom with nice shower products. The hotel is just next to the police station which feels so safe. It also offer the kid's slipper for my younger kid.

You need to climb up a slope to get to the hotel. Although it is not so convenient for ppl who bringing luggage but it helps the hotel in the quite area. And if you climp up to the end of the slope will find the lovely coffee shop.

The staff were fantastic, the views were excellent and the very best thing is the location, just a couple of minutes from the heart of sannomiya, yet located in a peaceful area on a quiet street next to a temple. A rare find.

The only negative is that they only have Japanese style pillows which were a little uncomfortable to someone used to western style pillows. It would be nice to have the option to switch them out.

Location was good a 5-10 minute walk to restaurants, 7/11, Lawsons, etc, room was comfortable.

This isn't really a criticism, but during my stay, I didnt need my room to be serviced and each night I would return to a bag with towels, slippers, new pajamas, water etc...this seemed like a big waste of resources to me, staff could have asked if this was required, but it seems that this was standard practice for this hotel.

My sister and I stayed here while she visited a friend at university. It's right near the West 3 exit of the Kobe-Sannomiya train station. It is also right across from the famous Ikuta Jinja so you'll be able to check it off your sightseeing list rather quickly! The room was quite comfortable and we slept well. They provide free bottled water -if I recall correctly- in your room each day. I always like to get the breakfast packages whenever I stay at hotels and I would say this was one of the best I've had in Japan. A large selection of items from Western-style breakfast staples to Japanese, Korean, and Chinese favorites. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting Kobe.

I like the room cleaners - they are so quiet, and flexible. Location was very nice, next to Ikuta Police station and Ikuta shrine.

My room was superior triple however it was not that big. I think it was superior twin with additional bed. Did not have ice and microwave, vending machine on each level, only one at the lobby.

Our family of four had the pleasure of staying at the Monte Hermana Kobe for a week. While the rooms were on the smaller side, they were exceptionally practical and clean. We especially found the wireless charger and USB connectors to be convenient additions, ensuring our devices were always charged. The hotel’s fast internet connectivity further enhanced our stay, allowing us to plan our outings and stay connected effortlessly. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast spread. It offered an incredible variety of high-quality options that catered to all our tastes. It’s something we looked forward to each morning. The staff at Monte Hermana were both helpful and amiable, ensuring all our needs were met promptly. Location-wise, this hotel is a gem. Situated near the heart of Sannomiya, we had easy access to transportation, shopping, and dining. Moreover, convenience stores were just a stone’s throw away, making late-night snack runs a breeze. Despite its central location, the hotel maintains a serene environment, thanks to its positioning in front of the Ikuta shrine. This peaceful ambiance was a welcome respite from the bustling streets just a short walk away. In conclusion, our stay at Monte Hermana Kobe Amalie was delightful. From the thoughtful room amenities to its prime location, it made our trip to Kobe memorable. We highly recommend it to other travelers and will undoubtedly return on our next trip.
