I enjoyed my stay at APA Hotel Kobe Sannomiya Ekimae. The hotel location is great, the personnel are polite, and all the amenities have been provided. Price/Quality ratio met my expectations. I marked comfort level as good due to the fact the room is a standard small one suitable for 1 or 2 travelers. Nice choice for those who want to save some money and have a pleasant stay in Kobe.

Good location in the city center with a lot of restaurants and bars nearby. Compared to other APA hotels the elevator is very convenient, no long waiting times.

The breakfast is quite sober and light, Japanese style breakfast but a toast or a piece of bread would have been welcome. Some fresh fruits would also not be too bad. The AC is regulated centrally and is set too warm, I opened the windows during the night but there is too much noise outside during the night with the window open from people partying till early morning.

Great location, staff were friendly but English was a problem (It's Japan, they speak Japanese, I get it.. but a little more English in a tourist location is probably not too much to expect)

The rooms are incredibly small, the towels are also tiny, I love Japan but there's no need to keep the miniature theme going when it comes to the rooms and amenities.

APA Ekimae is a great location - central Kobe in Sannomiya and opposite Ikuta Shrine. From here I can easily access all the places I want to go - shrines, cafes, restaurants and Sannomiya night spots, the port, museums, and Nunobiki nature walks and falls. It is also very economical, clean and comfortable. Choosing a budget and central option allowed me to add extra days to my stay. The room is small but functional.

Breakfast choices are limited so I did not have breakfast at the hotel much. I tried a late breakfast, within the allowed hours, and most things were already taken away. But there are other good choices near the hotel. The room is very small - especially for two - but I was expecting this so not a big issue for the budget price.

WiFi is free for use. Each room is assigned with a password for the single stay. The room is quite clean, which is the most significant merit of APA hotel. This time I travel to different city and also stay in another APA hotel, I found the two APA hotels provide the same quality of service, even the layout of the room is quite similar, which makes my stay very comfortable and satisfying.

The APA chain sets a high standard and this location is a good example of that. Though small, the room is well designed with plenty of hooks on the walls and counter top space in the bathroom. There is a kettle and a fridge in every room, and each guest gets two different ergonomic pillows. The location is great--just across from a temple, and a block away from the busy shopping area with lots of interesting architecture in the surrounding neighborhood. It's about a 7 minute walk over to the train station.

No negatives, except that unless you are a member of this chain, check out time is 10:00am. They will hold your bags for you after check out at no additional charge.

Good located in the center of Kobe. Many restaurants around the hotel.

Only one elevator for all visitors—make sure to allow extra time if you have a train to catch or an appointment. Just one washing machine—unfortunately, this was not ideal. Sorry to say, but we all appreciate having fresh, clean clothes after a BBQ dinner.

Excellent location, a five minute walk from the center of Kobe market and right beside a beautiful temple! The Sannomiya metro exit is right around the corner. The staff were friendly and the room clean, with a comfortable bed and various amenities.

The room was a bit too small so I had to open the suitcase under the bed, but perfect for a solo traveler

The staff is so nice and supportive. Although they don't speak English well, you can find thier enthusiasm working thier job. The room has a light controller right next to your bed, which is so convenient. The bath room has basin and hot water so you can relax after a long day of walking.

It is kind of hard to open the window and you can't open it completely. So there is no sunlight. If you stay at your room whole day, it is a bit uncomfortable.

Nice location, a lot of restaurants, bars and shops in the neighborhood. Close to the railway station. Friendly staff.

This time I did not take breakfast because they don't serve fresh fruit and almost no bread.
