This was a great location for Kyoto exploration, very easy to get a cab anywhere you wanted to go, very easy walking in the area with the castle right across the street. Excellent Ramen right around the corner and good coffee/breakfast spot right down the street. Lawson's and 7/11 just a few minutes walk away. My family got two adjacent rooms on the 8th floor, they were very, very nice. The best rooms we stayed in at 4 different hotels over a two week trip. Would stay here again. Very impressed.

The concierge were extremely helpful! We were allowed to cloak our luggage for the whole day, which allowed us to spend the morning and early afternoon at Nijo without having to worry about our luggage. We didn't know if we would make Nijo or not, so we hadn't booked our skinkansen back to Tokyo ahead of time. The concierge went above and beyond with organising our Yamato luggage forwarding, helping us make the best decision on where to forward it as it wasn't being sent to another hotel. Turns out there was actually a Yamato within walking distance of our stay and we had no idea Also the view over Nijo castle was amazing! Was really cool to be able to see the staff setting up before opening time, and view the night time illumination

1. Breakfast: they only provided Kraft jam. It was quite disappointing for people like us who like real fruit jam sandwich for breakfast. 2. The hotel provided shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash, but not body lotion. 3. We couldn't stand the low-quality thin-and-weak-fiber toilet paper.

One misgiving was the beds could have had firmer mattresses and more solid bed frames. Another Huge oversight was the fact that there were NO hooks on which to hang the bath towels. Thus we needed new towels every day. A simple hook or two would have allowed us to dry our towels without the need to replace them each day. Other than that - we enjoyed the hotel very much.

great location, in the vicinity of small restaurants which are all on a short walk distance. great room, spacious and clean

the planning, organization and execution of breakfast could be better. The food quality is great, however the hotel restaurant is not equipped to handle a mass of guests,So the hotel shifted breakfast to a huge conference hall and had difficulties handling supply of food. we are a well planned family. we eat and then quickly tend to our trip schedule around the city. this imposed delays on our schedule mainly due to the fact that we had to wait outside the grand hall for our turn as well.

Loved the breakfast. Loved the comfortable beds. Special thank you to the lady on the front counter who helped me with arranging a bus ticket from Kyoto station to Osaka international airport on Monday morning (27th March) when it was very busy. She went above and beyond in explaining everything to me. You have some exceptional staff - many thanks also to the gentleman who did the breakfast call-outs in a morning, he was very kind and considerate, as were all the staff.

Five minutes walk to the subway. There is free shuttle to JR station (fixed timetable). Room looked old but was clean and cozy; the water from shower heat up very fast and the pressure is enough. The staffs were fluent in English.

The mattress was too soft and my back hurt a bit after lying for a night.

The Waterfall through the glass was Fabulous!!!! Location was right across the road from the entrance to the Castle which was really great.

There were 2 x double beds in my room but unfortunately both of the mattresses were old and in need of renewal, and I had bad back ache from them.

Location facing the castle was lovely, great local dining places.

Our room was very outdated, however some rooms have been modernised. The bar was closed and in the evening it would have been good to relax there instead of going back to the room.

Shuttle to Kyoto Station was only 4 times a day. Was better 2.5 years ago.
