The location is at the center of the city that allows easy access to major attractions and shopping choices. 地點好、交通便利，十分推薦 Our twin room is spacious for two and our 28inch luggage opened. Toilet and bathroom are separate. The bathtub fills quickly. There is 24-hour air circulation in the shower to keep the bathroom dry. Beds don’t squeak. There is light blocking curtain to keep the room dark. Remember to draw the curtains as the room can be looked in from the street below. Our room faces the main road Shijo but is still quiet at night. Guests get a token for sake daily from 16:00 to 22:00. There are two choices. I found that a nice touch. Buffet breakfast can be purchased even on the same day for ¥2800 per person. The breakfast includes western and Japanese foods. Hotel can be accessed by the underground passage that runs under Shijo. Exit 11 to be exact. But it closes at night till morning. *I wish the layout of the furniture could be more efficient. There is quite some dead space that goes unused and wasted. We had to move things around in the room to accommodate our needs. For example, the two beds in the room are separated by a tight gap. Each bed is placed away from the wall/window by another 30 cm. That’s a total of three tigh spaces that that could’ve been combined to create 1 meter wide of separation(ie walkable space)

There were several features that I loved. First, the bathroom/shower, toilet and sink are all separate from each other. Perfect for not getting in the way of each other, i.e. One can use the shower, the other can use the toilet. Not only that, since the bathroom is its own separate room, one doesn't need to be overly mindful of getting the floor wet and no dealing with sticky shower curtains. Secondly, location is perfect. My brother and I did day trips out to Arashiyama, Gion district, Nara and Osaka, a great central-ish homebase. It's a 7 minute walk to the next subway station, east (Gion-shijo/Kyoto-kawaramachi) and west (Karasuma/Shijo). Tip: Use the underground passage to avoid traffic lights and use Exit 11 from the underground to enter Hotel Forza. Lastly, you can decide whether to have breakfast or not in the morning. We were often on a tight schedule, so we did not take the 'breakfast included' package. You can still always decide to buy a breakfast coupon if you have time during the moring. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did.

I only stayed at the Forza for one night and I wish I had stayed longer. It is on a main street that is in the middle of Kyoto and is close to the Nishiki Market. I enjoyed all the amenities except breakfast. They even had a sake tasting at night. If I'm ever in Kyoto again it will be my go to.

My only reason for not giving the hotel a 10 is because of the size of the room. It was smaller than a normal Japanese room. From the pictures it looked bigger as well. But it was still a great place and one I will recommend.

I spent a lot of time researching where to stay in Kyoto before alighting on Hotel Forza and I’m so glad I did. We stayed for 8 nights and it’s well located in Kyoto for getting to all key sights in the city, as well as huge variety of places to eat. Staff were very friendly and always happy to help. Communication with them was straightforward despite my lack of Japanese. The hotel has a good space for guests to bring food from outside and eat in a comfortable environment. There’s also a drinks machine to get coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Our room was big enough for two people with two large cases, with a sofa we could set things on. So while some people may feel rooms could be bigger, we had no complaints about this.

It would be great if the TV had access to streaming services, such as Netflix, but we had no real complaints. It’s an excellent place to stay.

This was my second visit to the place. Decided to visit again since the first time was such a great experience. Again, didn't fail my expectation. Room is very clean, location can't get any better being located at dead center of Kyoto and literally 3 minute walk to the Nishiki Markets. Not to mention how close it is from the train station. The free glass of sake you can ask for at the reception is fantastic. Small tip from our visit; head out to convenience store after dinner, grab whatever you like. Come back to the hotel lobby and enjoy it with a glass of sake to finish your day. If I ever visit Kyoto again, believe me I'll be staying at Forza the third time.

Honestly, nothing.

The location of the hotel was great, good location for transport both trains and city bus to get to other places we were visiting. Also hotel was central on a Main Street so easily accessible to shops and eateries and places of interest by foot too. Staff were always helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good with a good selection. Drinks from coffee machine were very good,coffees, macha drinks and hot chocolate. Also 1 complimentary Sake each night ! Hotel areas where always clean or being cleaned 👍🏼

Nothing really !!! Only thing would be is could have another coffee machine rather than just the one as there was always a queue ( an machine was a bit slow) But great coffee so probs why always a queue 🤪

Good location, easy access to shopping, Gion, markets, sightseeing, cafes and restaurants. A few metro stops/stations around. Situated in a busy area but hotel was quiet and comfortable and had a nice calming interior. We had a view of the main street. Free coffe/tea/matcha/ sake. Water/ice dispenser, laundry facilities and microwave. Area to relax near reception. Very helpful, friendy and efficient staff. They helped us with check-in and luggage forwarding. Good size room, comfy bed, good water pressure in shower, good wi-fi. Would stay here again. We had a comfortable stay.

Mentioned previously, not enough washing machines for the amount of the rooms. Always busy in the morning/ evening. Can't comment on situation during the day as we were out sightseeing. But eventually we managed to get washing done late at night.

The location is absolutely perfect. You're right in the heart of all the shopping. An easy walk to Nishiki Market as well as the Gion area. You have several major stops for the subway as well as a beefed up bus system. The building was very clean and the amenities had a nice touch. If you can get the Berry Bath Salt, grab a bag. They had a coffee machine and the coffee was good when the machine was working. The one glass of Sake a day was a nice touch as well.

Just a personal preference but the pillows aren't the greatest. They had a super soft or an extremely hard pillow. And they just didn't suit me personally. Other than that everything was awesome.

The hotel is located on a very busy street with many shops and restaurants which we liked. It’s also located to many street marketplaces. Just down the street are a couple of train stations. We noticed there is an entrance/exit in the lobby to the train station, but we never utilized it. The hotel is very modern & clean. We entered the hotel on the street level and took an escalator down one level to the main lobby. Like many establishments in Japan, it doesn’t look like much from the street level, but it opens up once entered. The staff was very young, courteous, kind & helpful and spoke English. Once breakfast time was done, the dining area was a great place for us to gather, meet, regroup throughout the day for our party of 9. They also offer complimentary coffee/tea drinks via machine at all hours and wine or sake later in the evening. The rooms are small which we expected but clean and comfortable and housekept well. Love how the bathroom mirror automatically defogs shower steam! I also love the strong water pressure, esp because it’s so weak at my own home! I would definitely stay here again.

Had breakfast once. It was okay. There were enough options to make me feel it was sufficient, but for the price per person, we found it was more economical to eat breakfast at other establishments. Our room faced the backside of the hotel which I think did not have a good view because our window was frosted which limited natural light. The other rooms of our traveling party had transparent windows and they were facing the street. Since we were out a lot, these things would not prevent me from staying here again.

The hotel seems to be a bit hidden but as soon as you enter the grand foyer downstairs, it feels like entering a hidden gem. The design gives the hotel a luxurious appearance which gets supported by the professional hotel staff. The breakfast was more expensive than at the other places I visited but the service and venue made up for it in price. There is a very stylish lounge where one can sit at all times (except for breakfast time I you didn't book) and they provide free coffee/ hot cocoa and matcha latte (fell in love with the latte(r)) and one free sake shot per night. The hotel room was bigger and lighter than I expected and I slept very comfortably.

The only thing that didn't really work for me was the internet connection in my hotel room. I mostly browsed using my own mobile data when upstairs. To be honest; I didn't really bother to ask because I was out exploring most of the time and/or used my laptop in the lobby/ foyer area.
