Stayed a total of 6 day. Easy access from Kyoto JR station when you arrive with bulky luggage. Easy Check in. Super friendly staff. They also helped me to send my bully luggage to my next hotel locations. Prime location with easy transport access in all directions.

This is a personal opinion. Given i had made the booking over 2.5 months in advance and that too for 6 days it would have really made a difference if my special request to have a front facing room could have been given to me. I obviously chose the hotel for the view towards the Kyoto station and the Nidec Tower.

Very convenient location in front of Kyoto station and good value for the price you pay. I just had to pay for the extra tax upon arrival which was another ¥800 that wasn't included when I paid for the booking upfront which is fine as it's not much. My room wasn't ready yet at 2pm where reception was kind enough to change my room to one that was already available on a different floor. I was a solo traveller where the room was just big enough for one big suitcase, a carry on duffle bag and a back pack. If I had anymore luggage I would have struggled for space. FYI - the place has no ironing board for people who want to iron their clothes. There is a washing machine and dryer on the 2nd floor where you will need to pay to wash your clothes if needed. The room and bathroom was clean. I would recommend staying here again for the price and location 🙂

ibis Styles Kyoto Station is located right next to the JR Shinkansen train station (southern Hachijo Exit of Kyoto Station). The Buses are also at a walking distance which is very convenient to explore Kyoto's main atractions and continue our transit to other locations in Japan. The breakfast was diverse for the Ibis standards (I particularly enjoyed the Miso soup). The rooms were really small. People with bigger luggage can struggle but we were aware of the rooms sizing so there is nothing to complain about it. The hotel was clean and the staff was super kind and helpful. Toilet amenities were available at the reception for free. The reception is on the 3rd floor. The bed was comfortable. Very good Wi-Fi connection.

The hotel is right in front of the Kyoto station, there is also a 7/11 just a few meters from the hotel entrance but is always filled with tourists and there are always long lines.

The foreigner member of the staff that was at the reception desk took a copy of my resident card that is very unusual , never happened in any other hotel before . I dont feel comfortable that a random stranger take a copy of my id card as is not a legal requirement,i will never use this hotel again

It was a perfect location as it was near Kyoto Station so easy to get around to other areas in Kyoto via train or bus. The AEON Mall was also a walking distance so it was convenient for us to shop there. Lots of great places to eat throughout the day. The hotel was clean and housekeeping came to clean everyday.

The rooms are small so for a family of 4 we had to get 2 separate rooms. It was quite hard to move around and maneuver our luggage with tight walk space in the room. They could probably add a couple more items to the toiletries like some other hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan. The one thing I didn’t see in the hotel but was fortunate to have brought was a body scrub or wash rag.

The location is excellent. Directly opposite the very futuristic-looking, busy and bustling Kyoto Station and on the Shinkansen (bullet train)side. We were able to use the metro, buses, taxis or trains within minutes of leaving our room. The rooms are not very big but fantastic value for money. The ensuite bathrooms are small but adequate with bath and shower and Japanese toilet. There’s dispensers in the bathroom with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. For any other toiletries you just help yourself in the lobby. There’s also free tea and coffee in the lobby. The staff were lovely. They are helpful and friendly. I really recommend this hotel if you want somewhere clean, friendly, practical, central and budget-friendly. In Kyoto Station you can literally find anything you might need. The fabulous and ubiquitous 7-11s, gift shops, drugstores, coffee. There are many, many restaurants too. Find your way to the 10th and 11th floors where there are plenty of great little restaurants with fantastic views! We ended up in one of them where there was no formal option for vegetarians but the women there kindly accommodated my requests and made my bento meal delicious and vegetarian-friendly with lots of care. One more good thing is that the Kyoto Tower (only about £5 per ticket) is just a few minutes walk away, through the other side of the station. Also, from there you can walk to some beautiful temples.

I had a look at the breakfast buffet and decided that it wasn’t for me but then I don’t eat meat and there wasn’t anything much for vegetarians there.

Very friendly staff and great location. Across the road from Kyoto Station and various bus stops which made getting around the city really easy. The room itself was a little bigger than standard Japanese hotels which was a welcome change. Had a gorgeous view of the station and loved to sit and people watch in the evening. We were also able to organise luggage forwarding to one of our next hotels in Fukuoka very easily.

Everything about Ibis was great and staff are polite and nice.

The cleaning of the room was superb, they do the beds and cleaned daily. What I must said is that there was a lampshade about the dressing table that was dusty and imagine, I have to boil water with the kettle just below the area. They should improve on that, though I dragged the wire further away and not to have my boiling water with added dust.

I chose this hotel because of its location. It’s literally across the street from Kyoto station. If I needed a break from my daily activities, I could just walk across the train station and freshen up in my room. There’s a 7-11 a minute away which just makes everything so convenient. The size of the room was also pretty big for Kyoto standards. I could open my luggage with no issues and walk around the room. Would stay here again next time I’m in Kyoto.

The only thing I didn’t like was the staff forgot to give me fresh towels, but no big deal.

The best thing about ibis styles Kyoto station is the location. It is bang opposite the main train station in Kyoto. Hence the name. So it was super convenient for us to just walk across after alighting from the Shinkansen.

The room size is quite cramped. Hardly enough space to open one suitcase. But if space is not a concern for you then definitely book this hotel as the space constraint is negated by the rest of the services and location.
