The hotel is on a quiet side street within walking distance to the train station, restaurants, stores and Nishi Market. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and polite. Hotel was spotless, room was great! Had everything you could possibly need including a washing machine. Hotel lobby had a large area for relaxing with coffee, tea, ice, water and extra toiletries in case you forgot something. Breakfast was wonderful with many choices of food to eat and a great staff. Spotless as well, very enjoyable!

There was nothing we didn’t like. We loved this hotel and highly recommend it. We did accidentally find another Tokyu Stay down the street (steps away) that we thought was the hotel. When we rang the doorbell it connected to the main hotel and someone came to meet us and show us the proper entrance.

Great location near Karasuma Oike station which made getting everywhere in Kyoto easy. It also was walking distance to shops and restaurants. Quiet rooms and modern facilities. The in room washing machine/dryer was awesome as after 2x weeks travel we needed clean clothes. I'd recommend it based on location alone.

Smallish rooms. We stayed 5 nights and it was a bit tedious as there was no where to put anything. The in house restaurant looked a bit sad we didn't go in there. Heaps of better options just outside great breakky Cafe immediately around corner at 7 Eleven

I slotted my trip to Kyoto in the middle of my Japan trip. The convenience of having a personal washing machine/dryer was one of the major reasons I chose this hotel. Furthermore, it's location to a nearby train station made it very easy to get around. I stayed in the Annex and it was great. For a solo traveller, the rooms felt huge and spacious. I do not have any complaints at all. If I ever visit Kyoto again, I am 90% probably going to book the same hotel. The only reason why I would book another hotel would be if the price changes or if I wanted to stay in a different area. I definitely would recommend this place to friends and family. The staff was great! Thank you for helping me in my first trip to Japan.

Excellent location next to two metro lines. Walking distance to Nishiki market. Clean and spacious room. Our room was equipped with a 2in1 washing and drying machine (detergent included) which was very convenient. You simply have to try the breakfast. There are numerous options of different japanese dishes, every day something else. All delicious and great for tasting the cuisine. If you're a tourist, I definitely recommend! Other things to note: rain umbrellas to rent and free coffee in the lobby.

Nothing to complain about!

The room is a good size. You don't feel cramped like other hotels we stayed at in Japan. Having a washing/dryer in the room was very helpful since we were doing carry-on only and had to wash stuff every few days. There are a lot of supermarkets nearby and a metro just around the corner. Only about 10 minutes by metro from Kyoto station.

They control the thermostat so we had to open the window to cool the room off during winter. Some people don't like their rooms being hot even in Winter. Not particularly close to any sites most people plan on visiting but being close to the metro helped with that.

This is the third time I have stayed at Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sanjo-Karasuma. I am satisfied with all the services they provide, especially their willingness to accept packages I ordered online. This makes my stay much more convenient and comfortable. Each room is equipped with a washer-dryer and microwave, these facilities meet the basic but important needs of a traveller. Good location, nice shops and bakeries around. The front desk staff are friendly and attentive to detail, I appreciated their help during this stay.

The property was clean and welcoming. Rooms and facilities were exceptional. The breakfast was good and had slightly different variation from other hotel breakfasts, which we appreciated. We’re a fan of Tokyu Stay and during this leg of the trip one specific employee was extremely exceptional. His name is Mr. Kageshima. We had a very complex logistical situation and with his English proficiency and knowledge of Japan made our situation very smooth. His follow-up on the situation was excellent and when we arrived at our final segment of the trip everything was perfectly as planned. I did not worry about the situation despite knowing if this didn’t go as planned one person in our group would need to stay back in Japan to fix the situation. This made our trip a 11/10. Please give him deserved recognition and reward for his hard passionate work.

This is minor but the days we tried to get sake we ran into the situation where the bar was closed during the designated hours or they ran out. So we didn’t get an opportunity to try any during the our stay.

Great location, central to Kyoto sightseeing. Staff were very friendly and able to help with luggage shipping which is awesome in Japan. Very close to 7-11, train, food, shopping. Also very cute, gave us coins to redeem for sake during happy hour and snacks/little candies in the lobby. Coffee free in the morning which was great! Washing machine was small and took a long time to do one load. Also hard to know what you're doing when it's not in your primary language. 🤣 otherwise, fantastic and I'd definitely stay there again.

Loved the location, free wifi, good sized room for Japan for the price. Was extremely handy having a washer and dryer in the room which is why I chose this accomodation. Was nice to have the breakfast available however we didn’t utilise this. The staff were great in allowing us to leave our luggage after check out so we could explore Kyoto for the day and then return to collect our luggage. The Netflix option on the tv was an added perk.

The bathroom smelt of mould, which aired into the bedroom as well. Couldn’t see any mould but could still smell it.

The hotel is just steps away from a major train station, and it's within walking distance to cool shopping areas (Daimaru, Nishiki Market, Takashimiya) and a wide array of quick service restaurants. The washer-dryer in the room was a lifesaver for me halfway through a long trip. The room was huge for the price, and I loved the coffee machine in the lobby. And the staff was super friendly too - when I locked my key card in my room, the front desk was able to give me another one within 5 seconds with a smile. I really appreciated that!

Nothing major! The breakfast buffet has a small selection of dishes (it's delicious, though!). Also, the annex lobby could easily get congested because it was so small.
