The private room with attached bathroom which has separated toilet & shower + basin. Room is pretty spacious and the shared kitchen has everything you need and the vibe is great for backpackers. Japanese breakfast is a 500yen voucher for you to redeem at a nearby restaurant which is quite nice.

1. The lift waiting time. 2. The location is 200m away from local metro but it is not convenient if you want to strictly use your JR pass as the nearest JR station is JR Namba which is about 2km away or you have to pay for metro, change at Shin Imamiya which is about 3 stops away.

Has everything you need and is in a great location. They were happy to hold my luggage for me as I arrived prior to check-in. Pod was spacious.

Washroom area seemed a bit unclean in places but when you’re accommodating a large number of people at a time that’s expected to happen (some people just make mess regardless) but clean to a good enough standard taking that into consideration. Would prefer there to be sliders/slippers in the toilet area instead of the room just for toilet use (similar to somewhere else I’ve stayed), seemed to be no slippers in the room spare and you don’t always want to be putting your shoes on just to go to the toilet.

Very convenient location for Dontonburi and Osaka Castle. Surrounded by great restaurants/bars. Upgraded hostel, we stayed in a private room that appears to have previously been an apartment room. Great modern bathroom with shower and nice comfy beds and personal A/C. Lots of outlets.

Having only one elevator that always stopped at the 2nd floor lobby was a little inconvenient.

The Grand Hostel Ldk really was a cozy hostel for backpackers and anyone looking for an affordable stay. I want to thank the staff for being friendly, helpful and patient with me as someone who knew a bit of Japanese. They gave me directions to services like the post office and baggage delivery services. Furthermore, their local resturant recommendations were awesome! I still recommend learning a bit of Japanese to have a better chance of communicating with most of the staff but their is always one staff memeber who is fluent in english to assist. The capsules room was very comfortable and spacious for a 6 foot male with enough space for a mini locker for important items and to keep your backpack. The locker room for luggage is open with shelves so I recommend bringing locks for your luggage (however, people were very respectful of each other's luggage). The kitchen and common areas were spacious, had all the necessary applicances (ie. kettle, microwave, fridge) and always occupied with other travellers so you could meet someone new and talk with them. There is a single laundry area with 2 washers and 2 dryers so take advantage of them when no one is using them. The hotel is close to a convenience store, train station, a takoyaki resturant, Yamato luggage delivery service and the post office. Also, you are a 30 minute walk away from Osaka Castle.

Such a pleasant surprise! The hostel is very easy to reach on foot from the metro, which made getting around stress-free. It’s also within walking distance of Dotonbori - about 15 minutes. Everything was spotless, and my bed space was thoughtfully set up with a comfortable mattress, personal light and charging socket, and a few hangers for clothes. The whole place had a fresh, modern feel. For anyone traveling on a budget, this is a great choice. What truly made the difference, though, was the atmosphere - the staff were incredibly friendly and approachable. Their warmth really enhanced the experience. I’d absolutely stay here again!

I got the capsule unit... But for a capsule unit, it felt large complete with a bedside table and enough space to put my small luggage in the room. It feels like getting a full room at capsule prices. I could sit tall and move around in the room like i would in a japanese tea room. Then there is the large living , dining and kitchen spaces that comes with free coffee or tea. So, despite getting a capsule, space is not an issue at all. And Its all decently clean.

I think they should change the bathmat. It gets soggy and dont dry up enough between users. and A little bit of padding on the capsule unit floor could reduce the creaking sound when moving about.

The bedrooms were huge with room to store your luggage and open it to go through your stuffs. The beds were comfy and the boxes had enough rooms to put your clothes on the side of your bed. There was even a table with mirrors in the female dorm to do your make up. We had a female only bathroom which was very functional. The common room was huge, with many tables and even sofas to chill.

Because luggage can be stored in the dorms, you’ll be awaken by not very considerate people who open their suitcases in the middle of the night and make noises with plastic bags (unfortunately there’s always those people….). The hostel should put a sign to prevent people from doing that after 10pm and take their luggage in the corridor if they really need to look for something.

The hostel is very clean and comfortable to stay at! The second floor lounge is a wonderful place to hang out and eat at any time of the day. The dorm is nice and clean and the personal bed area is surprisingly spacious, you can easily fit your belongings next to the bed and in the lockable box that also serves as a little table. The comfortable bed serves as a great resting place after a busy day. There's also a lot of space in the dorm room for luggage. The staff was very friendly and nice. As an added bonus there are cute cats in the window below the hostel. 🐱

Overall I had a very nice stay. The only little thing I can think of is that there's only two showers in the bathroom next to the female dorm so sometimes there's a bit of a wait. Nothing too bad though.

-quiet area, but still close to walk to main attractions -large kitchen to prepare or heat meals if needed -coffee and tea available all day -coin op laundry facilities -our private room had everything we needed- large shower and sink room with separate toilet area -we were early and able to leave our bags in the lobby and lounge using WiFi while we waited for check in -directly across the street from Lawson convenience store, which had wonderful treats

-a bit more money than we are used to paying while traveling, but that is Japanese pricing!

The location is fantastic. The common area and the kitchen are really spacious and they don't seem to mind if you use them before check-in or after check-out. You can store your luggage as well, which is very convenient. There was a lot of space in the dorm room to sit and put luggage. The staff were very friendly.

There is one bathroom per floor and whilst there are definitely enough shower cabins and sinks, they're not gender-separated. The toilets are in a separate place along the corridor to the shower room which isn't very convenient. There are many people in one dorm room, so it can get a bit smelly. My cabin was also quite warm. Also, someone stole my slippers. I hope they enjoyed using them. Please don't take other people's stuff.
