The rooms are very modern, as is the bathroom. Everything worked flawlessly, including the heating/cooling system. The location is easily walkable to Dotonbori, but far enough away to be quiet and less chaotic. The lobby has free coffee, tea, and soft drinks from 7am until 10pm. They also have a coin-operated wine station that has a red and white wine plus 4 different Sakes. The lobby also has lots of comfortable chairs and sofas to sit and enjoy your beverage of choice. 50 yen per glass, super cheap and pretty good. The hotel has 4 washer/dryer combo units that cost 700 yen/load and work really well, i.e., your clothes will be dry at the end of the cycle. Also, the washer usage can be monitored on your in-room TV. There is no need to guess if the machines are in use or if your clothes are done washing. Just check on your TV! The hotel is only 2 blocks from the Sakaisuji-Hommachi metro station, which is really handy. Tons of good restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend the Miyako City Osaka Hotel.

The Miyako City Osaka Hommachi is a very good hotel through and through. It is ideally located if you want to stroll towards Dontonburi or Shinsaibashi on foot. It is also easy to get to in the direction of Koya-san, Nara or Himeiji. As other guests have already written, the hotel is located on a very busy street, which is why I booked a room on the superior floor (15th and 16th floor). And you certainly shouldn't expect triple glazing, you can hear the traffic. You have to want that. The bed was a little too soft for me, but that's not really a minus, because tastes differ here.

Super close to the metro, and a few stops away from the osaka castle and the Dotonbori street. Also has an amazing ramen and cafe spots near by. It’s called “no name” and it was amazing ramen after a long touristy day. Room was spacious enough for me and my friend. It had lots of amenities and a hairdryer so that might help u not pack these things. Staff super helpful and friendly, we asked them to ship our luggage to tokyo and they organized it. Make sure they fill for u the forms in japanese (don’t fill it in english) u might need to use google translate a bit but all good and everyone was so patient with us. It was clean, comfortable, and safe for female travelers.

The breakfast is really the only downside, but if u like scrambled eggs and hash brown or japanese and asian breakfast u’ll be fine. They also had yogurt and fresh fruits which i ate whenever we had their breakfast. Honestly not the biggest issue and we ate in nearby cafes somedays and those were also delicious (try the eggs sandwich)

Lots of great things - 1min supermarket, nice cafes nearby (recommend 'Yamao' cafe) - flexibility of approaching metro lines if you have pass ticket - clean & spacious bathroom 🙌🏻 For those planning to walk from Hommachi > there is a underground pass in Semba Building B1 floor, it links straight from Hommachi to Sakaisuzi-Hommachi station, please use this pass when weather is horrible outside 😊

- Room was very nice and the bathroom was also really modern. We enjoyed the 3 nights here :) - Breakfast was fun and arguably the best we had over our stays in Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima too. We found there to be a lot of cool things to eat and the chefs switched a few things daily, which was a bit of a change up…but they kept the best options. - Located only 10-15mins walk from Dotonbori and Shinsaibashisuji for plenty of restaurants, plus only 25-30mins walk to the Osaka castle which was also fine for stretching the legs after an intercity trip! - Right across the road from a great little cafe spot called “The Coffee Market Lab”. We started each and every day here before we started adventuring and the different coffees we tried were delicious :) - Free assortment of drinks downstairs in the lobby area until 10pm which included water, soft drinks and if you wish, for a small fee, wine etc. This was a welcome surprise for refreshments free of charge.

Nothing comes to my mind for anything negative to say about why someone shouldn’t stay here while in Osaka :) Highly recommend for a delightful stay.

Again, my favorite place to stay in Osaka. This time I did not get the Superior Room, next time I will. Had the breakfast for the first time it was excellent, with everything from smoked salmon to pumpkin soup. . Super comfortable bed, check. Friendly staff, check. Your own little balcony, check. Lots of outlets and USB, check. , A really nice non-unit bath, check. Your own locker to leave your luggage in if you check out, check. The Miyako ticks all the boxes.

My only complaint was a couple of stains. One in the carpet by the sliding door and one on the upholstery for the little sofa by the bed. Japanese stores have all kinds of wonderful stain removers, and I have to to think that the right stain remover with some elbow grease would remove them.

The hotel building, equipment and staff all represent a professional attitude to serve their guests perfect leisure time and well being. The lounge area with free drinks and private-like leisure spaces provide an initial positive experience for the arriving guests, the size and equipment of the room, especially the quality and spaciousness of the bathroom are exceptional, not even speaking of the balcony which is almost unique at Japanese metropolitan hotels. The breakfast buffet provided a large variety of Japanese and Chinese style food, incl. dumplings and fresh specialities even varying during the days. The hotel is located in the prestigious Hommachi district of Osaka, which provides good accessibility of several metro lines, and is considered quiet and safe district.

I couldn't name any, but maybe the air conditioner could have an even milder setting for those sensitive to sleeping with AC on.

My husband and I booked the Miyako City Osaka Hommachi for 5 nights in May 2025 as part of our honeymoon trip. The hotel was comfortable, clean, well located and was close to local amenities including a 7/11 across the street and a stone’s throw from coffee shops and the subway station. Osaka was our favourite location in a trip that included 6 cities, there is so much to see and do. We would recommend exploring the Dotonbori area at night where you will be spoiled for choice for world class foodie spots, trying a sushi making class, visiting Osaka Castle and the surrounding gardens, going to Universal Studios (get the express passes) and checking out the Osaka World Expo while it’s in town.

The room was a little on the small side, but overall this was a pleasant stay.

Room a little congested, though the size is already good for Japanese standard. Clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The bathroom is spacious with good facilities. The lounge with free non-alcoholic drinks and opened till 10pm is lovely. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood near the commercial area and away from the busy tourist/shopping areas. Yet easy to get around by metro which is just 2-3 minutes' walk away. 15-20 minutes' walk to the Shinsaibashi area.

Not a single hook or rack inside the bathroom, apart from a small bar just enough for hanging a small towel right in front of the basin!

Great location, very nice room and attentive and helpful staff. Loved the corner room with full height windows all the way round. Room was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Can not fault this place and would definitely return should we visit the city again. Free hot and soft drinks in the reception area was also a bonus.

Breakfast hours were very limited. Advertised initially as being until 10, this isnt true and 'closed' signs are put out from 9:30 as breakfast items then begin to disappear as they run out or are cleaned away. This is the earliest end to a breakfast service of any hotel I have ever visited and I would certainly suggest this would be better being extended slightly.
