This is my second time staying at this hostel and the first time was in 2016. I'm happy to say it hasn't changed a bit but they continue to maintain it well. There's a great bar area and smoking room with fun activities all week. The rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable. Location is central and there's no cars on the street so perfect for walking. We rented bikes which we locked up just around the corner. Would definitely go back again!

The light in our ensuite bathroom was on a sensor but it didn't seem to work. The light wouldn't go off so there was light coming into the room all night. I told the front desk but no one came to fix it.

The location of Flying Pig Downtown is unbeatable! Everything is within walking distance, from the main Central Station to all the must-see spots during your walking tour. The staff were super helpful, and they offer rentals for almost anything you might have forgotten to pack—like a hairdryer, razor, lock, towel, and more. Our roommates were friendly and respectful, which made the stay even better. Plus, there are nightly events like beer pong and pool, making it easy to meet people and have fun. Definitely a great place to stay!

The washroom was cleaned daily, which was great. However, while hand wash was available in the common areas, it might have been more convenient to have it in the personal bathroom as well instead of just soap.

I went to the flying pig hostel with the usual expectations of what it would be like to stay at a hostel. Thanks to an excellent staff. These expectations were not only met, but also by far exceeded. All the staff was super friendly and very competent at what they were doing, special shout out to Florian, the best bartender in the world and walking information booth. He helped us with all the things that were on our list. Speed cleaned the chill area so we could go back in faster. Thank you for all. Ian the karaoke master who gave us a special memory on our second night with his passion for music and making drinks and Luigi for watching over us when we weren’t felling so good and cleaning all the mess I made. Really thanks to all of you for making this trip so special. 11/10 would recommend if you like adventures and strangers who will become your friends. Coming back soon!

The staff at this Hostel is friendly and super helpful! I am very thankful for the fact that they allowed me to stay here for only one night during a super-long, overnight transit through Schiphol Airport. Staying here allowed me to experience Amsterdam at night, thanks to the central location of the hostel, the relatively affordable rates it offered, and the willingness of the staff to provide advice and answer any questions that I had about the city. I was able to enjoy a pint of beer on the pub on site late into the night, I felt that my personal belongings were secure during my stay, and the bed I slept in was clean and comfortable. Typically, I am not one to book a room at a hostel, but my experience was delightful and I was able to get some very good rest in my room before catching my connecting flight the next day. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to explore Amsterdam on a budget.

The price. Even though booking a bed at this hostel was far cheaper than any of the other accommodations in the surrounding area, I just have to point out that booking a bed at this hostel cost me more than a stay at a four-star hotel in Croatia. It is what it is, but for anyone looking to stay in Amsterdam, just be aware of the fact that you will need to budget your money carefully since the Netherlands is one of more more expensive countries in Europe. Thankfully, this hostel exists, making it possible for budget-conscious travelers like myself to explore Amsterdam without spending too much and the staff are really helpful, but do be mindful of the fact that Amsterdam is not a cheap city to visit.

Amazing location. Friendly Staff. There are earplugs available for free. Happy hours at Bar. The Hostel consists of many Washrooms at all levels, Each floor has Toilets and Shower rooms at multiple floors. All of them were super clean. There are lockers in the dorm big enough to put 2 hand luggage, plus there is locker available for rent at a very decent rate. we paid 3 euros for 4 hours. Location is great, we never had to use transit. It is nearly 6-7 mins walk from Central. 10 mins to Dam square and 10 mins to red district. The street where hostel is great for shopping.

It was very hot, despite air conditioner, the dorm didn't feel good enough, I literally sweat too much on first night. There was a fan but it did not help at all. Also we got the dorm whose window opened in the smoking area, so the room smelt of smoke. :(

lovely place , very well organized . Staff was super friendly and helpful ! there is a breakfast in the morning simple but delicious . After that you can bring your own food and cook in their kitchen which was great ! There is a bar and they have free water <3 thanks for that really saved me :D Also smoking area in the inside but also outside if you use tobacco. The wall paintings are just AMAZING !! Trippy and beautiful i was stunned by the art !! Give it a try , its worth it ! Billiard also on the bar you can play for free Beds are double bunker and very wide which was amazing. there is also a vending machine that sells munchies for the midnight snacks. Finally , the showers were very nice and clean . They also have hairdryers, i saw that they moaped often as i had shower twice per day and they were always clean !! If you want to check out in the morning but still roam the city, there is a bag storage .

Priced well, staff were extremely friendly, location was perfect in the city centre with a smoking room next to the bar (an absolutely fantastic addition for smokers!) - such a mix of different people from all over the world, I met some truly interesting people with differences in backgrounds, an absolute favourite for me and my partner to stay again - we've been several times to Amsterdam and will definitely be returning here next time! Breakfast was simple but nice and I enjoyed a bowl of fresh fruit, egg on toast, a bowl of cereal and another slice of toast with Nutella - my partner had a ham and cheese toastie.

A very short young woman working in the kitchen was a little hard faced and couldn't crack a smile at any guest but nothing else comes to mind, loved everything about this place. We will be returning.

Located in the vibrant center of Amsterdam, it is comfortably accessible from the Airport Shipol and from Centraal Station you can walk up to the hotel 10minutes. The Staff was friendly and open to help. If you wanna connect with different travelers, it’s also the place to enjoy:)

As i am not pretty complicated, I could not complain about a bad experience at all. The only thing was that i wanted to work with a laptop and it was not possible to connect via password to the wifi. You can work with their free wifi for wich i i do not recommend to, due to the safety of Data.

Great Stay. I had a wonderful experience at this hostel. The vibe was fantastic, and everything was clean. I stayed for about 7 days in a 6-bed female dorm, which surprisingly had a private bathroom. The room and bathroom were cleaned daily, and any issues we encountered were addressed promptly, no delays at all. If you have to travel around Amsterdam, meet new people and just hit the sack to take some rest I would recommend the hostel for solo travellers and backpackers. The location was also a major plus. Overall, I highly recommend this hostel for a comfortable stay

The only drawback was the pricing during the weekends; it felt 📈 steep for the amenities offered. There was no chair in the room. It was uncomfortable to sit in the bunker beds to talk with roommates or even pack/unpack.

The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean, the bar was cool. The really incredible thing about this place is the staff! Ricardo saw me sitting alone in the bar and asked me to play pool with a group, so I right away felt comfortable like this was a friendly place. Mandje helped answer questions about Dutch culture and was and amazing bartender listening to my crazy stories. Ian had the biggest friendliest smile every time I passed him and he ended up helping me make friends and being incredibly kind to me. Greg also helped me find my room when I rebooked in and was a great help.

There was one annoying thing… there is a really awesome common room in the basement but you can’t hang out in it after like 10pm, and also I couldn’t get INTO it (or any of my food in the kitchen) before 12pm any of the days because of cleaning from the paid breakfast. I get why and it isn’t a huge deal.
