Give yourself the gift of staying at Chateau de Chantore! You won’t regret it! We loved to experience living in a French Chateau, among superb antiques, to eat breakfast in the superb dinning room, carefully served by out host, Bernard, who was the most welcoming. Also, the park is simply beautiful, home for peacocks, horses, swans and so many beautiful animals. It’s a piece of heaven on earth. We enjoyed everything here, from the fresh apple juice and honey made on the property, the morning and evening walks in such a peaceful place, but I think that everything was taken to the superlative by the presence of Bernard, who is involved in offering his guests the most beautiful experience, through his stories, his attention to details and his kindness.

Everything was perfect!

The property and gardens are exceptional. Beautifully and lovingly restored and filled with the most wonderful antiques. Our view from our balcony was amazing and we could see Mont St Michel lit up at night. The gardens were delightful, filled with trees, plants, flowers and all kinds of interesting places to explore. The river, lake and waterfalls were stunning. We enjoyed our walk watching the swans, geese and peacocks and the fabulous Friesian horses grazing in their paddock. Bernard is a wonderful host and made us feel so very welcome to share his home with us.

This beautifully cared for Chateau is set in expansive grounds that are themselves a tranquil retreat. Wooded pathways meander around two ponds, a stream and paddocks. Songbirds abound and there are peacocks, swans and ducks as well. The chateau is lovely and we enjoyed the generous and delicious breakfasts. Bernard was the CONSUMMATE host. We loved our stay at this unique atmospheric property ensconced in a green oasis.

Just a wonderful place to spend a couple days while visiting the French countryside - wish we had more time! Bernard, the owner/host, is just the best - he will make you feel like a king (or queen) staying at his Château. Beautiful grounds and spectacular breakfast - no need to look anywhere else, because THIS is the place you're looking for! And don't forget to ask for the best scrambled egg you've ever had...not kidding!

Really no complaints, other than having the toilet so far from the actual sink/bathroom - but it is an old/vintage house! We totally understand...

Bernard was such a wonderful host. My friend and I really enjoyed our time at the chateau. The breakfast was unmatched, the grounds absolutely resplendent, and our hosts were most accommodating throughout our stay. Despite the fact that my friend and I were traveling without a car, the hosts at Chateau de Chantore went out of their way to arrange taxis to and from restaurants and pick up at the train station. We are so grateful for our wonderful experience here, and would recommend to all our friends!

We couldn’t have had a better experience. Bernard was an incredible host, and our stay at the chateau so vastly exceeded our expectations. We would love to return someday!

The brief to my husband was to find somewhere very French to stay! He nailed it with this property. Bernard was welcoming from the start of the booking with regular updates on our arrival. Pulling up to the Chateau is breathtaking, looking down a long drive you see the property that is beautiful. Greeted by Bernard and shown around the traditionally restored property it certainly has the wow factor as you walk through the grand high ceiling rooms. Then we showed to our room and again WOW really doesnt cover it. We were only staying for 1 night as we were dropping off our daughter locally for her school trip but I would certainly love to stay longer. Breakfast was traditional french style and exceptional and accompanied by Bernards own Apple juice, honey and jams, all were delicious. A beautiful property and hosted by a lovely man. Thank you for making us feel welcome in your beautiful home.

There is nothing that I can think of that I did not like.

Bernard and iñaki are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable hosts. The property is magnificent and beautifuly preserved and decorated . Authentic 18th century. The room is spacious and lovely with view to beautiful botanic garden which includes a swan pond and ancient trees as giant sequoia. The breakfast is generous and delicious. We felt like the king and the queen. Highly recommended!

This beautifully restored chateau, with remarkable grounds is a dream! The hosts were so gracious, and willing to help with anything. The rooms were beautifully furnished, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean. Breakfast was also exceptional, with honey from the estate hives, and apple juice from apples grown on the estate. Every detail here has been thoughtfully considered. The setting is idyllic, and so peaceful. The grounds are a wonderful place for a walk with easy trails. It really is a little slice of heaven.

That I had to leave.

What is there not to like! The grounds were beautiful with walking paths to see the horses and peacocks. There were bench around to sit and enjoy. We had a wonderful friendly greeting with a tour and description the house and amenities. Then we got to the room. Where to start! We had a beautifully decorated room with a beautiful view and the bathroom was massive! A clawfoot tub but also a modern shower and double vanity. Everything was very clean and well maintained. I was pleasantly surprised how very comfortable everything was! Sometimes with antique furniture it isn't well renovation but this wasn't the cast! The chairs and bed were all very comfortable. Breakfast was a work of art. It was an incredible placing with attentive staff and the food was good. I would very highly recommend.

The only thing I regret was choosing to spend one night there!

The chateau was charming and the grounds provided a stunning walk. Our hosts provided an excellent breakfast in a lavishly appointed dining room. We brought away some of the chateau's delicious honey.

The key to our room was a bit difficult.
