If you are going to Mont St. Michel and can afford to spend a night here, do it. Way too crowded during the day, but once 6pm rolls around, the streets belong to you. Just remember to book your restaurants in advance as everything closes early here. The hotel rooms were much better than we were led to believe from other reviews. The price is high, but worth it for a once in a lifetime experience. Note to summer travellers: they light up Mont St. Michel Monday night to Saturday Night, so if you want to see that, don't book Sunday like we did. Still a great experience though.

The room was spare but very pretty, with a peaked ceiling and exposed beams. Windows in the bathroom and bedroom looked out on the beach. The location, about halfway up the main road in Mont St Michel, is ideal, and when you stay the night it is a totally different experience after the daytime visitors leave around 6 PM. We took a bottle of local cider and walked around the quiet alleys at night.

Every single thing in France is overpriced, and everything in Mont St Michel has a few euros added on top of that. I do not know how people live here. While La Vieille Auberge was one of the best value places in Mont St Michel (aside from their restaurant, which is very expensive, I still have felt every day that we are being punished for visiting the country.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here. We had wanted to come to Mont Saint Michel for a very long time. It was pretty amazing to stay in medieval village. While it’s heavily populated during the day after 6 PM, the island has very few people left on it. It felt magical. The room itself was well appointed. It had all the amenities that one needs. The window that looked out over the village and across the water Was in the bathroom, which was a bit unusual, but still was a breathtaking view. The restaurant where we checked in held our bags until the room was available in a secured room. That was very helpful. The sound of the seagulls in the morning felt a bit otherworldly. I highly recommend this accommodation!

Well, we definitely had the impression that we were going to have a balcony based on the images shown by the property. The window that opened out over the view was in the bathroom and did not have a balcony.

One gets to stay on the island which in itself may not be a great idea because the views of the island are best from the shore. We wanted the experience so stayed here because on the island this was the best deal we could get. The room was comfortable and clean. There are stairs involved so be prepared for that. Our luggage was light luckily.

It’s not really a hotel in the traditional sense. The room was a bit away from the restaurant where one checks in. The restaurant closes before dinner time. They refer you to another restaurant nearby. That restaurant was good as well, though.

We had a room seperate from the main hotel which probably worked well as we had a great balcony with excellent view. Breakfast good and staff friendly and helpful. Glad we stayed on the Island itself as makes a big difference when the crowds leave and you can walk around the streets and Abbey with very few people around. Parking was easy enough with the camper van which is right next to the bus stop that takes you to the Island. You do have to request parking at least a day before the visit to enable them to provide a passcode to access Car Park 3.

The room is located high on the Monte which means that there's quite a number of stairs to reach the room - a small inconvenience for the lovely views you get from the balcony. Generally the accommodation is as listed. Nice modern facilities which are perfectly suited for a short stay. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and made the check in experience a breeze. It was a great experience and memory to be able to stay overnight at Mont Saint Michel, one that we will never forget.

Just a minor detail but the shower needs a little more attention to cleaning. Other than that we were very happy.

The hotel has an excellent location, easy access to the city's main tourist attractions, restaurants and bars. Right decision to sleep inside on Monte Sint Michel and unravel your paths at night with the city empty of tourists, I highly recommend it! Great bed, new bathroom facilities, excellent shower - hot and good pressure. Service at reception was warm and friendly. It far exceeded our expectations.

Such an amazing view from the room, watching the sunrise was a highlight of the trip. The room was spacious as well as the deck. Staff was very friendly and let me borrow an adapter as I had forgot mine in Paris and there was nowhere on the island to buy one. I did not have the breakfast so I cannot comment on its quality.

It was not an issue for me, but for anyone with mobility issues this location would not be possible for them. A lot of incline and steps, walking about in the evening it is quite dark so extra caution is needed.

Location and view (paid extra for sea view room) were excellent!! Reviews say room is tricky to find; it would have been first time..but hotel has noted that and had someone take us to our room on arrival without us having to ask. Easy to find once we'd got orientated. Literally at the foot of The Abbey. Beds were very comfy. Seagulls started early but that added to knowing we were right by the sea! Our 16&18 year old kids were blown away by the location and view - if you can impress them you've done well. Upon checkout, the bar staff were very accommodating and filled all our water bottles with lovely fresh water too. Thank you. Pricey, but a once in a long while experience. We would do it again some day. Great to stay on the island to get the night visit in for the abbey and leave the island as the masses and masses arrive on the buses and by foot. Merci!

The location was excellent, and the room was clean and comfortable, albeit a bit smaller than usual, which is expected on the island. It was intriguing how the rooms were hidden and had to be accessed from another street. Staying on the island felt a bit enchanting.

I had been warned by many reviews about staying on the island. The morning noise from store and restaurant deliveries disturbs the peace early in the day. While this is not the fault of the hotel, it's something to consider when booking on the island.
