Being so close to the photographic opportunities we wanted to have. Hotel is in the "hotel zone" almost as close to the end of the line of hotels as you could get. That meant we could walk only a short distance to start walking on the causeway to decide where we wanted to take our photos. Free shuttle stops only a short distance from the hotel to take you out to the actual island...doesn't make any stops once on the causeway. Sarah was a friendly and helpful employee during our stay.

Hotel restaurant was closed, and food options were VERY limited when we arrived at 6 PM on Sunday night, so. Beware and make plans to eat before you arrive. It was unclear to us that the hotel is located beyond a closed gate, in the hotel zone. The keycode operated gate is not well signed, and you end up in a vehicle line wondering if you are in the correct lane. Stay in that left lane. You have to have the code from the hotel in order to punch it into the machine in order for the gate to lift for your car to enter. (for some reason, we didn't receive the email with the code). You will receive a ticket with which you will pay to exit from the "hotel zone" when you leave.

Greeted by kind and friendly staff. The beds slept well and we had a good shower. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The best part about Le Relais du Roy was that we could walk out the back door and see Mont Saint Michele! Easy access by train then bus.

It would have been nice to have two real chairs in the room for the two of us. Electrical outlets for modern technology would have been nice. The rooms were a bit dated.

Instructions on getting to the hotel and parking were confusing.

Great location. One of closest to Mont St Michel. We had oblique view of the Mont from our room. Excellent continental breakfast. Staff very helpful on transport to their hotel from Rennes. We got train to Pontorson, then connecting bus to the hotel, (dropped almost outside the hotel). Restaurant was closed for dinners, but there were two excellent restaurants within 3 minutes walk. Around 2.5km walk to the Mont, which we enjoyed. But there were also very frequent shuttle busses every 10- 15 minutes if you got tired, or bad weather.

No real complaints at all.

Very nice hotel right across the bridge from the island of the Mont St Michel, in the little town of La Caserne. We walked back & forth, but there are free shuttle buses as well, just outside the hotel. There's not much there except a couple restaurants and a little market/gift shop, but it's fine for staying the night in close proximity to the island and avoiding the crowds during the height of the day. The receptionist kindly offered to make us a dinner reservation when we arrived, which we definitely needed. In our room, we had everything we needed for a brief stay, and it was perfectly clean, with a small balcony from which you could view the abbey.

The friendly desk clerk upgraded us to a room with a river view instead of a road view. The breakfast offering was tasty and convenient. We could walk to Mont Saint-Michel from the hotel and the free shuttle was also close-by. Free parking at the hotel was terrific - though there was a charge to bring the car into the "inner" part of town.

The decor was a little tired, but who cares? There was no elevator, but not a problem for us.

The receptionist was extremely helpful directing us where to catch the shuttle and the return times. We loved the layout of our room. Everyone had their own space. It offered some privacy for us and our daughters 23 and 21.

It was difficult to locate the hotel zone. The email was not clear that the code was for the gate to enter the zone. The restaurants in the area all closed early at 9:00pm. I wasn’t sure if we could exit the hotel zone and use the same code to reenter so we didn’t attempt to find anything outside of the zone. We were not able to eat dinner anywhere. We couldn’t even find a confectionary or grocery store to buy something.

Very welcoming receptionist, property very well situated for visiting Mont St Michel and on site parking a definite bonus (even though you have to pay to enter the area of Mont St Michel). Room at back of hotel was sunny and had small balcony. Breakfast was very good, disappointed that their restaurant and bar was closed but the receptionist kindly reserved an evening meal for us at a nearby restaurant.

Nice clean place to sleep when visiting Mont Saint Michel. Communications ahead of arrival were very clear, parking was smooth, and the location is right next to the bridge. Staff at check in gave useful info in good English without taking much time. Sizeable room with everything I might need.

It is still a tourist/hotel encampment, so don't expect any local rustic charm. The hotel wasn't just a "tourist storage flat", which was a nice surprise, but it's still just primarily a place to sleep before going to the Mont.

Can't beat the location of this hotel! It's so close to the MSM that we could actually see it from our room balcony which was absolutely amazing. We appreciated parking lot right next to the entrance and the ability to walk to MSM from the hotel. Because of the location we were able to visit MSM in the evening when most of the tourists leave, and enjoy the empty streets of an old medieval town without a crowd. It was magical! Although, the hotel is old and room decor looks tired, our room and especially bathroom were much more spacious than anticipated. The beds were comfy and everything was very clean. Amazing restaurant at the property, where we had an excellent dinner.
