The property was in a great location in Bastia, a minute from the port which was key for us. We arrived later in the afternoon, hearing that parking could be problematic due to central location. After about 15-20 mins of circling the roads we found a great spot. Having camped in 35 degrees for 5 days, having a top spec air con unit in our room made a huge difference, plus a fridge and really good wi fi. The room is part of a shared flat, we didn’t actually meet Gilbert but he was super helpful on WhatsApp and clearly a popular host given the notes dotted around the flat. It was just what we needed and we’d stay again for sure. (Also highly recommend Glacier Raugi around the corner from the place, incredible ice creams)

5th floor could be tricky for some guests. Parking could be difficult during peak times.

I will never forget Gilbert and the welcome he and his friends gave me to Corsica. This was one of those really stand out experiences that you just don’t get on the beaten path. It’s a great room, great value, all of that of course. But Gilbert’s hospitality was unmatched and truly made me feel like I had made my first friends in a new place. Which I really did. We ate together, sang together, played music and talked all night long. When I returned a few weeks later, even though he was booked, he still invited me out with more of his friends. He was proud to tell the tales of former guests, offered practical advice and material on the GR20, even let me store some luggage while I was on the trail for a few weeks. What I found when I checked in at this place was one of the greater surprises on my journey, of which there were many. Merci encore Gilbert, à la prochaine!

Authentic and unique rooms. Very friendly owner. Good location to go to ferry or to airport shuttle bus. Very good bakery and ice cream shop nearby. There was possibility to leave luggages after check out.

No elevator, which makes it harder to climb with luggages.

The apartment was very well located, near Place Saint Nicolas and about 1,5 km from the Citadelle de Bastia, easy access to the bus. Mr. Gilbert (the owner) was very friendly and helpful and gave me some suggestions on what to do, for example go to the little village of Erbalunga. the apartment was well decorated and very clean. If you want you can have breakfast for just 2,5€ and it's good.

There is nothing to not like Bear in mind that others live there and can be noisy However, Gilbert is on the ball to make sure everyone respects others.

The place was very cosy and the host Gilbert was really friendly and hospitable, I felt like at home. The breakfast was provided for a good price and since it was prepared a day ahead, I could leave early to catch my train. Thank you for everything Gilbert!

Very warm welcome by Gilbert who shares his home with guests. Comfortable super clean room, breakfast in the morning for a very fair price, good wifi and hot shower and the house is located very central, but quiet. A home away from home.

Very small, but clean and practical room in private apartement. Gibert was very nice and helpful man. I just stay one night by passing Bastia, in the beginning of may journey.

Very nice interior, and a warm welcome from Gilbert, very friendly and caring host. Felt like home! And for us it was perfect because it was close to the ferry we took early in the morning.

When arriving, we had problems finding a place to park our car. In the end we found a free one about 500 m away from the house, which was okay.

Very central and clean. Well organised and nice host. Only downside was that the room was at the 5th floor with no lift.
