This hotel is literally a palace - and yet it is one of the friendliest hotels we've encountered. The staff are all amazing - smart, courteous, and incredibly attentive. We were treated like royalty. It was like being in a movie. The rooms are luxurious, and housekeeping is wonderful. The ocean and beach views are stunning, and well worth the upgrade. We were given a personal tour of the spa, just having walked in to find where it was. We were given a room early, even though we arrived 4 hours before check-in time. But the best of all is the restaurant, La Rotonde, which overlooks the beach and faces the sunset. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The food is indescribably good. We were treated so well, it felt like a dream. The menu is filled with delicacies - and yet the prices are well within reason. The continental breakfast was probably better than any breakfast I ever had - anywhere. I am so glad we added breakfasts. The selection of amazing options just goes on forever. Everybody should experience one or two nights at this hotel, because the prices are not impossible, and the memories will last a lifetime.

This may sound stupid and picky, but the glass door to our extremely fancy marble shower, which comes with huge dispensers of Guerlain products, has a kind of clear rubber fitting around the edges, and that fitting was not sealing tightly, so some water was getting out onto the marble floors of the bathroom, and it was more than the floor mat was able to soak up, so we had to mop it up a bit. The light switching is "charming" and "unique" which means it takes a while to figure out. Also, the elevators are big by European standards, but they still seem a bit small for a palace. Nevertheless, they're very nice.

I will certainly add our two nights stay at this historic hotel with dinner at La Rotonde restaurant followed by a night cap in the bar to my list of memorable moments. Although we didn’t have a sea view room, our stay was expensive by our standard, however, I think the experience was worth the price. The staff were all very attentive and friendly.

The bathroom was small, the mattress firmer than I like and there was an empty space in the bedroom as if a chair was missing. I expect that if the weather had been better, the walks to the restaurants would not have seemed so far.

The hair dryer. Nearly every 5 star luxury hotel we stay in they always seem to forget about how important the hairdryer is. The hairdryer was cheap and the cord wasn’t long enough to be able to style your hair. Must have been bought by a man or someone trying to save money. Buy a Dyson hairdryer it makes such a difference. It’s such a bug bear when hotels don’t seem to care about the little things which are so important. It makes such a difference. We are paying a lot of money for 5 star treatment and the hairdryer is just like a hairdryer in a 2 star hotel.

The hotel is breathtaking and the rooms are beautiful and very comfortable - each of our rooms offering hotel crested small gifts, beautifully presented welcome fruits and bottles of complimentary chilled champagne to order - it’s the perfect start to our stay in this living landmark palace - it feels like such a privilege to be able to stay here. The breakfast room has an incredible 280 degree view of the ocean and the beachfront and there’s a Michelin restaurant completing the offering. The spectacular pool overlooks the entire beach and there’s poolside dining. The hotel is within walking distance of the lovely town and all the luxury brand stores. Concierge supply a list of great restaurants beyond the hotel and are very helpful with all requests. This stay was wonderful in every way.

The hotel was amazing - location, service & staff! We were travelling with our dog & needed to see a vet to get her papers signed & stamped to get back into the uk & they arranged everything! Booked the vet appointment & a taxi to take us there. So impressed! We will be back for sure!

Apart from the fire alarm going off at silly o’clock in the morning & we had to evacuate the building - absolutely nothing!! The hotel is beautiful!!

Beautiful hotel in a superb location.

Only able to eat in one restaurant because of the weather, a hotel this size should have better options. Restaurant manager was quite grumpy. Clearly everyone wants a window seat we got it only once despite staying in a suite. The hotel is very expensive so no value to be had. Bar staff were too laid back and some even lied about a wine we had. The bar menu for food is not inspiring and at 30 odd euros a salmon toastie is well overpriced.

Most incredible, luxurious and overall unforgettable experience. L’Hotel du Palais has succeeded to live up to its historic reputation and demonstrated its grandeur throughout our stay. The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful and catered to all our needs, and beyond. The facilities were astonishing too. The breakfast was grandiose, matching the splendor of La Rotonde in which it is set.

Everything about the location was fabulous. This was my 3d stay, and it was lovely to be recognized and personally greeted by the staff. I love the beach and the views of the beach from the dining room at breakfast and dinner.

There is something strange about the staff at the restaurant. I am a woman traveling alone, and each time, during all three stays, every time I checked in for breakfast or dinner, the hostess looked at me up and down from head to toe as if in disapproval. It was very uncomfortable and very different from the staff at the front desk/reception, who were very warm and polite.

Outstanding historical Hotel on the best location in Biarritz, overlooking the famous Grand Plage; everything is superb, the Pool, breakfast buffet, the outdoor restaurant exposed to the ocean and sunset, the La Rotonde Restaurant, which is one of our favourite in the entire world. Personnel is more than helpful and super nice.
