Room was fine, as usual, nothing special to mentions. The bed was big and comfortable. The size of the room was fine, not too big, not too small. The ventilation could be better. Unfortunately, this hotel right in the center, and there is a bit of traffic on the street under the windows - hence, no possible to open the window (noise) during the night. The aircon was a bit too noisy and we had to switch it off. No breakfast was used - way too expensive. Nise part: there is a parking right under the hotel. Hotel is nicely located - this is a good thing.

The parking is rather small and we were lucky to get the last place that day. On another night it was completely full, and some cars were parked on the way out. Breakfast was way to expensive for the offering.

The location is great - we use it as a stopover on our way back to the UK from Caen and have done so for the last couple of years. The staff are always super helpful and ready to accommodate your needs - giving helpful advice on where to eat, parking, places to see etc. It is our go-to in Caen and, if you want to see more of the region - D-Day beaches, etc - this is a great place to base yourself

Nothing really to fault - I guess if I was to quibble I would say the parking is a bit tight and you cannot reserve a spot so you have to take your chances but on the whole I have never had an issue

The Mercure Caen Centre Port hotel is exquisite! It overlooks the harbor with lovely views, and is close to plenty of restaurants, shopping, and the like. It's easy to reach by vehicle. The Château de Caen is within easy walking distance, as are several lovely old churches and some fantastic views of the city. Parking is convenient, on-site, and secure. The hotel has a wonderful breakfast with plenty of variety. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The room was a good size, breakfast was good and location was good.

The only issue we had was that when we booked our rooms the price included breakfast, however when my daughter booked her two rooms it did not include breakfast and for 3 nights the room was only €15 cheaper, however when we enquired if they could purchase breakfast they were told it would be £20 per person per day, I think that is disgraceful and excessive for a buffet breakfast, we paid less for main course meals in the local restaurants.

Very comfortable beds, clean good quality furnishings. A step up to the shower but was OK. The fridge in the room was a big plus. Breakfast was lovely but expensive at €20 each. Secure parking on site €12 a day, which was very handy and a reasonable price. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and did everything to help you feel at home. We would definitely stay here again.

Cannot understand why the bar closes at 10pm on a Friday and Saturday night at the height of the season. Several people wanted a drink from a hot chocolate to a digestif. Easily 10 people one night. Management needs to address this. Many guests were not impressed.

Perfect location in centre of Caen, easy to find from ferry terminal and near to bars & restaurants, breakfast was great, room functional but perfect for us, only staying one night before heading south. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

We arrived late evening and parking was difficult because the bays aren't big enough.

Staff were absolutely lovely. The room and bathroom were clean. Perfect location all in all a great stay.

We ate at Le Bistronome right near the hotel and ordered steak and chips. OMG it was like chewing on a shoe. The staff couldn't have cared less, so if you choose to go there don't choose the steak! Other than that nothing could have been bettered.

Location was great. The breakfast was really good. The front desk was very helpful.

We were from the US The square pillows were hard to get used to. Didn’t really like them. No air conditioning while we were there. Still on heat only but could have used some cold air.

Liked that the staff could speak to us in English. They were very friendly and helpful

There was nothing to dislike. The only downside was you couldn't get an English channel on the tv that you can with other companies but that is very minor

Location was excellent. Staff were friendly and helped when asked, but otherwise didn't interfere unnecessarily, which is good. Our dog felt at home too.

Car park we found tricky, with entrance and exit the same and that being quite blind and sloped. We nearly always met another car when leaving, and this resulted in minor damage to our own car on one occasion.
