The room is absolutely fantastic; by Paris standards, it would rate as a high 4-star hotel. Trams 1, 2, and 3 stop almost right outside the hotel, along with many buses that can take you to the Memorial Museum or the beach. The castle is right there, and the shopping streets are just minutes away. The bed was very nice and extremely comfortable. I really enjoyed the breakfast, though I admit there is some room for improvement. On the positive side, it featured my favorite type of cheese, delicious potatoes, and a homemade cake that was simply fantastic. There was also a huge selection of honey—which is very important to me—along with various walnut creams. The sweet section was extensive, offering a wide variety of choices. There were also many types of drinks not usually found in other hotels, such as the grape juice that I really liked.

There are some negative points where there is room for improvement. The windows are not noise-cancelling, and on several nights, people nearby were shouting loudly. The spa section is too expensive for what it offers; it simply isn’t worth it. During breakfast, the potatoes and cheese often ran out, and the staff did not seem very eager to replace them. I saw four types of cheese in total, all excellent, but one of them appeared only on my last day. The vegetable selection was poor—sometimes there were tomatoes, sometimes not—and that was basically all. At check-in, the staff refused to let me pay in advance, which I did not appreciate. Many things can happen in the meantime, such as a stolen or blocked bank card, and I had my card ready to pay right away when I arrived.

Warm welcome. Parking is not easy; so make sure you reserve a place in advance. I did - and always had a space (but it is a tight squeeze!! Room was pleasant and had sufficient power points. Bed was comfortable. Water was always hot. I went for the buffet breakfast and was not disappointed. Lots of choice including freshly made scrambled egg. I didn't use the pool/spa on this visit. But I had done so before and enjoyed the experience. Check-out (at midday) was smooth and efficient. Overall, an enjoyable stay which I look forward to repeating.

A shame that the restaurant was closed for a summer break (I missed it by one night!). The displayed menu looked interesting however. I will try to make sure that it is open on my next visit.

Hotel is centrally located in Caen near the market place making it easy to access local bars, restaurants and boulangeries as well as the market which we visited on Friday. Staff very welcoming and accommodated our poor attempts at French. Room very clean and tidy, generally no noise from outside, with bath and shower over. Toilet area was "compact" but we didn't mind that. Parking available for limited number of cars, more cost effective than nearby multi-storey car park. Would definitely use again.

Parking tight at times, not helped by other residents parking across bays but hotel staff were great at helping us to get parked onsite.

Matthias was an exceptional host, very friendly, very helpful, spoke very good English and a great dress sense. I'm afraid I didn't get the names of the other staff who assisted us in our stay but they too were very good. The location is perfect, close to all the historical sights, town centre and great places to eat. The breakfast was exquisite with a wide variety of delectables. The spa was perfect for a couples retreat.

This one's on me as I'm certain if I raised it at the time, the team there would have been able to help. But the username for the WiFi didn't work. I didn't mind nor did I raise it as I had full 5G. Other than that, the bathroom in the room didn't offer much privacy. For couples, this isn't an issue when it comes to showering however for other things, less than ideal. These are minor though and didn't detract from a great stay.

When we checked out, we mentioned to the Manager (Mathias) about the very small toilet room and that it's the tiniest room we've ever seen in a hotel. As we're coming back 2 days later for one night, Mathias assured us that he would give us a much better room. An upgrade. True to his word, he provided us with a lovely room overlooking a courtyard in the new part of the hotel). Reserve your parking for 15 Euros/night. Very handy location - near the castle and all the shopping you can think of is nearby. No need to take your car. Big plus!

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights. Arrived tired and was given a room on the second floor (this is the older part of the hotel). Our room was quite a small room with a standard double bed. Being tired, I can live with that. However, the size of the toilet room was shockingly small and had to sit up straight (on the toilet) in order not to hit my head on the door in front! I am Size 10 and there's 5 inches either side towards the wall. If you're claustrophobic, don't close the door or better still, ask to be moved to another room. The Reception area smelt of fish dishes throughout our stay. Perhaps due to the kitchen/restaurant quite closeby. Investing in a good air freshener or ventilation would make a big difference - more welcoming.

The hotel was ideally located in the centre of Caen. Caen is very nice, with plenty of restaurants and shops. Driving in the region is good, with little traffic if you are exploring the D-Day beaches. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. I arrived early morning from the overnight ferry and they allowed me to use the bathroom to get washed ahead of my afternoon check in.

There is limited car parking at the hotel, however there is plenty of street parking near the hotel and the car park tariffs are reasonable.

The place is very close to the city center so it’s nice to just have to walk a little bit to take a tour of the city The room was clean and it had a fridge and I really appreciate when hotels have it cause it’s not that common Also we went there with our little dog and there were no additional fees :)

no air conditioning so we had to keep our windows open but being on the ground floor it was very noisy and we didn’t get much sleep

The bathroom was nice. The bed was comfy. Everything was clean. The staff was helpful. The spa was good.

No air conditioning. To open the window we had to open the shutter so the light came in. The place could do with a fan, and a blind (or something to let us open the window but stay dark)
