The location was perfect for me at a quiet end of Caen withing walking distance of the conference venue , trams and attractions. The room was ideal for a solo traveller. Clean warm and quiet. Break fast was adequate.

This would have received a better rating if a bottle if water had been placed in the room, I accept a kettle is not the French way but I was anxious about drinking tap water and there were no shops close by. The door code was only emailed that afternoon which meant I had no access to.it as I travelled from England that day.

Very nice Hotel. Cynthia and other staffs were very friendly. Very nice shower, bed is very comfortable, very near to Tomb of William the conqueror, Close to atttractions such as Chateau de Caen, St. Etienne Church, St. Pierre Cathedral, near to the bus going to Caen memorial, I should say near to the bus stop which is you can go around the city. Breakfast is continental ham, cheese, yogurt, bread ..... Evrything is very nice with this hotel.

The room was a twin and it was nice and big. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. If you want breakfast you pay extra for it and it was nice with yogurt and bread and jams etc. the location was fantastic - we started at Caen train station and the tram was easy to find and took us to the area with just one street to walk up to the hotel. It is close to Caen castle and the Abbaye aux Hommes (where William the Conqueror's tomb is) and is close to restaurants and cafes.

The lock of our room was a little bit tricky to work but the staff showed us how to manage it and we were alright.

Everything absolutely met our expectations, the hotel is cosy and tiny in a good way - the French way. If you look for the full Normandy experience, this one is the way to go. Also the stuff (especially Mrs Cynthia!) was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend!

The showers could've been cleaner. I can see that the hotel is ancient, but the showers need more attention. The whole room was very clean, the bathroom too, but we found some mold in the shower which wasn't nice.

The staff were incredibly helpful and full of good recommendations! The hotel was a short walk from restaurants and historic sites, as well as being very close to a Twisto bus stop. We had a view of the Abbaye-aux-Hommes from our room window!

There is no elevator at the property, so if you have mobility issues, you may need to request a ground-floor level room. The bathroom was also quite tiny, though we appreciated that it was en-suite.

A hotel in a good location on edge of city centre. We were late arriving but we had received the access details in good time so things went well. We liked the furniture which was in traditional French style. We had a good view from the window of the spires of the Abbaye aux Hommes ( resting place of William the Conqueror), St. Etienne and St. Nicholas. Jardin des Plantes nearby with excellent tropical greenhouses.

It would have helped us had we known which bus or tram we should take from the train station to the hotel. Toilet facilities were a little tight.

Fantastic location - very central. All the attractions (except for the D-Day landing beaches) are in walking distance from the hotel. most of the cathedrals and abbeys are very close by. the furtherest away is the Caen Memorial which is an easy half hour walk. and bus stops are literally around the corner if you prefer not to walk. we knew about the 5pm check in ahead of time so we planned accordingly. once we checked in we were given a code for the front door and could come and go as we pleased. the hotel is quaint, full of character and beautifully decorated. breakfast has a nice selection and the owners and staff are extremely warm and friendly. we felt very welcome there.

Don't be put off by the 1 star on the door. The hotel looks shabby from the outside but the room and bathroom were very clean, the bed was comfortable and the towels were soft. Good shower. The staff were helpful & friendly (it maybe helped that I can speak French). Breakfast cost 8€ and for that you got cereal, juice, yoghurt, fruit compote, baguette & jam, croissant & tea, coffee or chocolate. Considering many French hotels don't offer breakfast at all, this was good value. WiFi & the door code to let yourself in at night. A bit of a trek from the station but close to the Abbaye aux Hommes and a 5 minute walk from the tram once we'd figured it out (goes direct to the station).

Check-in is only between 5-8pm. We arrived at 3.30 having walked for half an hour from the railway station in pouring rain, so this was disappointing.

The hotel is walking distance from the city centre. A comfortable room which worked for our short stay. A very good breakfast with lots of options.

We knew when we booked that parking nearby might be difficult to find. We did manage to park on the same street as the hotel on one of the nights. It might be more difficult to find a space with a large car.

Lovely suite with real character - in a good way

Missed breakfast first morning - our fault. Was told it finished at 0930. Turned up before 9 the next morning to be told we couldn’t have it because we hadn’t reserved it !!! To be fair, that was the only downside - great place and polite staff apart from that one issue.
