We were welcomed by the lovely couple that runs this B&B and stayed for 10 nights. Every morning they provided a lovely homemade breakfast. Something was different about it each day! They had lots of amazing tips about the area. One of the best things was that our french is pretty bad but they had no problems speaking English. In France this is something rare so I definitely wanted to point out how relaxing that was for us! They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. Every day they told us to tell them if we needed anything. We aren’t a difficult to please couple but we saw how much effort they put into other guests that were a little more difficult to please. If you stay here you’re going to be treated well by a lovely couple. The pool is wonderful to sit around and have some drinks or snacks which we bought ourselves. Sadly we weren’t able to use the pool itself much because of the weather. It was just a tad too cold and windy. But I could just imagine myself on a warm day enjoying dipping in and reading my book. The area has so much to do and with a car its only a couple of minutes drive into the medieval city in Carcassonne where we have spend a lot of time enjoying the cassoulet, shops and looking at a piece of history. This B&B was the perfect home base for exploring the area. And I’m sure the owners will have lots of ideas for things you can do there if you’re out of ideas. We went exploring caves, castles, hiking in the mountains and the beach. Every day was different and even then there was still stuff we’d like to do some day.

The only thing was the mosquitoes but that is not something that’s in anyone’s control. Be sure to bring some mosquito repellent stuff. Especially something to ditch that itch. Luckily we came prepared :).

The couple who runs this B&B is super friendly, calm, and offers a great French-Filipino breakfast. We stayed in the room with pool view and enjoyed the quiet at night and the good shower. The proximity to Carcassonne is also great if you plan to explore the city for a day.

The pictures looked a bit nicer than the room felt in the end (things are a bit old in there - but everything was clean!) but it was alright for one night - and the kindness of the hosts definitely made up for it!

Roland and Bridget are a delightful couple, they made us very welcome, the room had everything we needed and the breakfast was amazing! An extra bonus was the lovely swimming pool which we were invited to use, The house is just outside Carcassone but within a short driving distance and we spent a great evening in the Bastide square.

The host couple were absolutely fabulous! They were warm and receptive and had interesting stories to tell. The breakfast was fantastic!

Comfortable bed, and very friendly hosts. We also had a private terrace with the beautiful smell of jasmine, and a table if we didn't want to eat out. Excellent fan to keep cool at night! Quiet residential road. A short bus ride to the lake, from where it is possible to walk back if you don't mind a bit of a trek. For my budget - the alternative being a budget chain hotel - this was a superb option. Not too far away is a very good value bike hire shop that we only discovered on the last day; if we went again we would hire bikes for the duration and just cycle everywhere.

I booked it because it looked like the best value at short notice, having a pool and terrace, but the pool was unfortunately out of use! It was a long walk into town and the buses, although convenient and cheap, stopped early in the evening. However, we should have hired bikes; there was a good-value place nearby that we didn't find soon enough.

The home is perfectly located for a short trip to Carcassonne, and the host‘s friendly assistance helped us immensely.
