This is an excellent example of how to make a 5-star experience out of 3-star space. The room and bathroom are small but everything is organised so ergonomically - the experience is top-notch. Workdesk, power points, USB ports both at the desk and bedside, retractavle luggage rack. My room was on the 39th floor, which gave an excellent view of Lyon. Breakfast was also excellent,

Can't think of anything. This is not negative or positive: the location is 15 minutes's walk from Lyon Part Dieu train station (throuigh the Westfield shpping centre), and a short trolleybus ride to the hisotircal centre (C3 or C13).

Nice views on the city from the rooms, the breakfast place and the dinner place. Good location, the historical center is a walking distance away. For those who might be interested there is a big shopping center next to the hotel.

It was a bit challenging to find the entrance to the hotel, it is not quite clear which side and which level to use, so watch out if you arrive on something other than taxi.

I had stayed here before so I chose it because is just a few steps from the train station and a mall. Maybe not my first choice if you want to stay closer to city center but it is well connected to metro stations. The room is ok, is comfy, not the biggest but has an amazing view of the city. The breakfast has good variety and quality food. The staff and service is good also.

I feel that the hotel is a bit on a pricier side, which is ok, and for the same type of hotels which I have stayed they have offered a bit more. For example, they don't give complimentary water or small snacks, only if you are a rewards member you get free bottled water in your room (or it seemed that way); and in my experience the hotels of this category usually offer this free for everyone. So little things like these can help to improve the overall experience of the stay.

The view over the old town was stunning and given every room is on floor 27 & above, all the views are amazing. The bar and restaurant were reasonably priced and it was fantastic to sit and have a meal with stunning views over Lyon. The staff were all super friendly and extremely helpful, including everyone in the bar/restaurant. We have traditionally found that Radisson Blue staff are all well-trained in customer service and go out of there to be helpful. Free water/fruit and lollies in the reception was a nice touch. The bathroom was large with good amenities, and the bed was very comfortable. There is an extra door between the hall and bedroom, which blocks any noise from the atrium. The hotel is within walking distance from Lyon Part Dieu (via the Westfield Mall), and the Westfield Mall is right next door. We also had a great trip to the Les Halles De Lyon Paul Bocuse food market, which is about 5 minutes away and full of amazing food vendors and bars/restaurants.

The rooms are circular so there is less room than normal for luggage storage. We also thought the brown shagpile carpet was looking tired. There was a strange smell in the room, but as the hotel was fully booked, we couldn't change rooms but they did spray the room, and with the air conditioning on, it was ok. Reception is actually on the 27th floor, so when you walk into the base of the hotel it feels a little strange until you see the sign pointing to the lifts.

Spectacular, panoramic city view from both the room and the restaurant. Excellent buffet breakfast. I also ate at the restaurant for dinner (without a reservation, but they were kind enough to accommodate me) and the service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. Comfortable mattress, fluffy duvet. Nespresso/Keurig-style coffee machine in the room. My room ("Premium Room") had just enough space for the bed, a desk and a couple of chairs - it was fine for me but travellers with more/larger bags might have found it a tight space. Next to a shopping mall and the train station, but quite far from the old town. I stayed here for the view and the convenient location, but I would stay somewhere else if I really wanted to explore Lyon.

The air conditioner was set at 20 degrees C and made the room a bit chilly. In theory it was adjustable to +3 degrees but whatever buttons I pressed, nothing changed. When I mentioned this on check-out, the desk staff were apologetic and said they'd look into it. When I checked in, there were 3 or 4 reception desks but only 1 receptionist on duty, and we all waited in a queue at the one desk. It took me a while to realize that I had to ride the elevator up to reception - I walked all the way around the building, including through a parking garage, before entering through a deserted lobby with a wall-mounted screen. The screen provided instructions on how to access reception, but only after scrolling through a generic slideshow.

View, infrastructure

Unfortunately the rooms were not really cater for view though we paid for room with view. The glass was misty throughout and we couldn't see unless having to clean the glass from Inside. Having said that we did clean the glass and the views were stunning. There was hesitance to provide room service initially. Not much to rely on after a late check in as there is no In room dining service. This is my guest ever hotel experience where in room dining was not really an option. However we had a pleasant stay, staff were really helpful and especially the reception gentlemen who checked us out.

The hotel itself is located in iconic building overseeing almost whole city. Absolutely gorgeous view from 39th floor. Very attentive and polite staff. Rooms are very clean and well equipped. Its Radisson in the end of the day :).

* Beware of an extremely narrow entrance/exit to the parking - dont try to enter with SUV or premium sedan, you’ll likely scratch your wheels. * For my biggest surprise the breakfast was a disappointment. The orange juice gone bad, ham was not fresh (almost gone bad). Food clearly either wasn’t fresh or saved from dinner, or just improperly stored. This is a call to management to monitor the kitchen. Croissants, however, and coffee were amazing!

As we stayed in the hotel on our previous visit to Lyon, we were always going to come back again. With the covid problem and the various lockdowns in Britain it was more than 5 years between visits. The hotel offers the most marvellous views over the city, the staff are very good, and we were thrilled to have returned. Our holiday was enjoyable and we look forward to returning again.

There was one evening in the restaurant when the staff forgot to order a main course for me, so dinner lasted a lot longer than it should have done. As the restaurant wasn't full, that was a surprise. The staff eventually returned and I asked if they realised that I was still waiting for my main course!!! Red faces from the staff.

1) the bathroom was fantastic & incl. slippers, bathrobes & ironing board. you have to ask for a toothbrush at reception desk. 2) great that both sides of the bed & table had cable chargers. 3) i like the foldable suitcase rack. everything was proportioned to fit nicely 4) the view from 3817 was fantastic both day & night - the cathedral & eiffel tower views 5) the remote window blinds were easily controllable to block the sun during the day

1) the reception. check in & out took a long time as there was only 1 desk open so there was always a long line of travelers. i don’t know why the other 2 desks didn’t have staff help in checking in & out people 2) the rooms were not sound-proofed. at night i could hear people walking & talking

This is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in! The staff were incredibly welcoming, especially Eloise, who went out of her way to assist us every day. The hotel’s exterior doesn't do justice to its clean, modern, and stylish interior. Our room was spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable, with fantastic views of the city. Being right next to the Westfield shopping center, with hundreds of shops and plenty of dining options, made the location perfect. When we return to Lyon, this will definitely be our go-to spot!

Nothing, we loved everything.
