The pool occupied our daughter perfectly and the location of the hotel is great for anyone travelling by train. Aircon in the room was appreciated after some stays without on our Interrail adventure. The breakfast was excellent, with a selection of artisan breads, baked goods and cereals and cheese/ ham continental style. For hot breakfast there was a slightly confusing egg boiling gadget which meant guests left abandoned eggs filling all the baskets. The scrambled egg was topped up from a dish heated up in the microwave but it was sadly still cold and inedible.

The decor suggests this is a hotel for convenience, the bathroom was small and lacked ventilation meaning it had some mildew stains and there was a smell from the plug. The wipe clean flooring was slightly strange.

We came to this hotel 2 years ago when we visited Nice for the first time. We had an exceptionally great stay, so we came back here. The receptionists are very welcoming and helpful, the cleaners/chambermaid were very attentive and made sure we had every day fresh/clean towels and a perfectly clean and tidy room and well stocked bathroom with shower/hand/hair gel and toilet rolls. We felt safe in this hotel because there is permanently an attentive portier/receptionist at the entrance. In the entrance area we can find a spacious and comfortable lounge with a bar, also it is a swimming pool on the 1st floor, with a lovely terrasse to enjoy/lounge. The hotel is also well located near the public transports, the train station Nice Ville "Thiers" ( for buses/trains and not too far from the tram line 1 stop "Gare Thiers")....and a short walking distance from the Avenue Jean-Medecin were we can find easily various shopping places/centres and cafés/Brasseries as well as take-aways...The "Liberation" food market is not too far either, as well as some supermarkets too. All together if you prefere a good daily walk and discover Nice, it is possible : that's why we chose this great hotel and its location for our short stay.

Excellent location, right next to the central train station, close to bars and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. We got a room with excellent view.

The room was a bit small, I have a large suitcase and we almost had to jump over it. The bed was quite uncomfortable - it had a top layer which was too soft and made our backs hurt, plus it was unbalanced and made noise when we sat on it. There was a chain that prevented the window from opening fully, but that made the window close again and you can't really keep it open.

Clean, nice pool area , room cleaned each day to high standard . Breakfast good selection . Ideal place for picking up public transport and getting to the city hub of shops and restaurants . Nice gentleman at reception and young lad in breakfast room

A couple of staff were quite sharp to the point of being rude . My friend was chastised for the way he put the dirty crockery in the tray ( which he was clearing up) . We were spoken to sharply for using the back dining area when no spaces in the top one and finally the waitress came over and told us off for taking our plates off the trays indicating it marked the table ( whilst she was tutting) . We are not rude to people and expect the same responce . Perhaps some more training is needed .

Room was on seventh floor and had a distant view of the sea across the rooftops. Breakfast was available each day onsite, but it was our choice to eat separately while out exploring or bring in snacks etc. Hotel situated right next door to main train station... ideal for exploring the coast (Monaco, Cannes etc). Well-stocked supermarket on the same block... ideal for supplies of snacks, wine etc. Hotel also situated a five minute walk away from main shopping street (Rue Jean Medicin) and the excellent tram network which covered the main tourist points of the city. Hotel staff helpful and friendly at all times... supplied us with an iron for the room after paying a small deposit which we got back.

No tea and coffee supplied in the room. This was not really a problem as we took a travel kettle with us which overcame the issue. Room on the small side, but it is an Ibis (e.g. budget hotel with generally smaller room types). The bed was huge and very comfortable, and there was also enough space under the bed to store our cases etc. so again the room size did not become too much of an issue.

Great location right next to the main train station and a handy tram stop. The staff were so friendly and helpful, but not overbearing or pushy at all. The room was small but exactly what we needed, and was clean and comfortable. The pool and outside terrace area was a huge bonus, and really added to our stay during the high temperatures. Will definitely recommend as accommodation in Nice.

If I had to make two comments I would say that the showers are a little awkward to get in and out of, and that the mattress toppers moved around a lot during your sleep, so we adjusted them quite often. Both minor points though that did not take away from our stay.

The location was top notch, near the tram amd train stations, the staff were helpful and kind. It also is relatively quiet for a city centre hotel, a 15 minute walk to beach/bars. The only issue was that we got a twin room and the matresses were way to big for the very small beds, so that could be improved. The pool is a decent addition for relaxation in the morning or evening.

We like the price and the pool, which was warm for swimming never too crowded with ample lounge chairs. They did not have towels for the pool.The room had all of the necessities and the staff was helpful. They had music one night by the pool during our 6 night stay. It was located about a block from the train station exit. You need to take an escalator up to the entrance. They have an elevator from the street but it is not easy to find as it exits on the side of the building by a rental car park. There is a nice lounge area and a computer for patrons use. There is a buffet breakfast, but we never took it. While close to the train it is about a 15-25 minute walk to the beach.

Ibis rooms are very small and standardized with the bare minimum of amenities. Windows are small with a nondescript view. I found that I missed the feeling of being immersed in the beauty and graciousness of older Nice hotels that have nice personal touches. But for the price, it is a bargain—especially because of the pool.

Excellent central location, short walk to the beach and all the highlights of Nice. Great breakfast, lots of choice with fresh, hot and cold options. The swimming pool was also a bonus, with the option of free sun loungers and umbrellas and a pool towel (for a small amount, which I think cost €2, which was great for the weekend trip, and which I used at the pool and the beach).

Decent breakfast for the price, room was kept very clean, pool was small but adequate, air con worked, staff were polite and happy to speak in either English or French.

Room was a little small and not carpeted, although in all honesty you probably don't want a carpeted floor in a Mediterranean summer!
