Very close to the train station, yet it doesn't feel that close. You can't see or hear the trains; you're simply living in the garden. All was very clean. The small pool right outside the apartment door is a great feature. The bed was very comfortable.

I requested a room with two beds and got with one. It wasn't a big deal, as the bed is huge, but after my request was approved and then, without a word of explanation, I was given a single bed, it was strange. The shower had no cubicle, curtain, etc., which resulted in the entire bathroom flooding. I had to use towels to wipe the floor instead of my body after the shower.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Fantastic location close to station and trams with lots available within a short stroll. Nice coffee is free plus water, which was very welcome. And the little balcony was also a great bonus. Pretty terrace at the front.

Bizarrely tiny space for the separate loo means most adults would struggle to close the door when sat on it. But I was alone and it was fine. I was also in the lowest category of room. Public areas quite funky and well maintained but my room was a little shabby. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to return.

The hotel is in a superb location - close to Nice Ville station, near the main shopping area and good restaurants, ,less than 10 minute walk from the tram stop from airport and just under 15 minute walk to the beach! What I would call a funky, boutique style hotel, quiet and 'cosy'. Nicely appointed rooms and very comfortable beds. Varied and well presented breakfast. Angel and Dragan, the Reception team, were very welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Liked everything except the smell of bacon wafting up to the room (4th floor) just before 7 in the morning.

The hotel is close to Nice Ville train station. We were delighted to find a personalized note and a small gift in the room — a thoughtful touch that immediately made us feel welcomed. The room size was good, and the bathroom was spacious. Breakfast was very good and it offered a variety of delicious options. The hotel is also within walking distance of the old town, making it easy to explore. A special mention goes to the staff — friendly, professional, and always ready to help.

Clean, comfortable double room with balcony. Breakfast is continental buffet, good variety. Tea, coffee, iced water available all day for free with complimentary sweets and biscuits which could be enjoyed on the terrace at the front of the hotel. 2 mins walk to the train station Nice - Ville which is literally across the road and provides easy access along the French Riviera. 10 mins walk to seafront promenade.The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Toilet in room was very small, however did not affect my stay.

Hotel Excelsior in Nice was perfect location for us: very near to the train station so not far to walk with big bags and great for catching a very early train. The staff were fantastic: very friendly, welcoming, warm and helpful. Breakfast was excellent: great choices and the scrambled eggs were perfect!

There was a little trouble with the lights in our room, they wouldn't dim or switch off. This was mostly fixed the next day after we let the hotel know - they would then dim but we still needed to remove to the card from the power slot to turn off the lights completely. Every so often they would flash brightly while dimmed. So a little attention is needed to further fix the issue. Otherwise the room was great!

Location excellent. Complimentary tea, coffee, water. A cosy area of reception to relax and have a drink from a small bar area. Lovely garden area in a courtyard

Hot food and hot drinks are very bad on temperature. Always nearly cold and when you ask to heat it up in a microwave, it's not an option. So very disappointed with this . Also no double beds, two singles bed are put together, which kept moving apart, and I was a solo traveller who likes a double bed.

The location of the hotel is great! Just down the street from the train station and not a far walk to the tram that takes you to Old Town. It's a nice neighborhood with bakery at corner and we found a great restaurant 3 min away. The area is quiet and the hotel is very clean. Decor is quirky retro travel design. I liked it, my husband not as much. Toilet separate from shower and vanity.

Very slow and small elevator. Two people can barely fit with a small suitcase each. You have not control over heat or a/c in your room. Just temperature. It was a warm afternoon and system was on heat. Did not sleep super well that night. Didn't try breakfast because it was quite expensive and I don't usually eat that much for breakfast.

The location is perfect as it’s near the train station and a short walk to the Promenade. We were there over the Christmas period and the staff left some chocolates and a Christmas card in our room. We also got a little gift on arrival. The breakfast was really generous with all that you could want. The nicest touch was free coffee and chilled water through out the day as well as some sweet treats in the evening.

Reserve a back room if you are a light sleeper.
