Amazing view from our corner room and amazing location with a lovely street containing every shop imaginable opposite. Staff very friendly and always available. Ideal base for exploring the city, multiple trains and buses immediately outside. A bustling area but quiet in our room on the 6th floor

The bathroom was clean but tiny, I’m an average, mid-sized woman and I found the shower cubicle a bit claustrophobic. Anyone larger would struggle to fit. The room was small but fit for purpose and this seemed to be a trade off for having a second balcony on the corner, which we were quite happy with.

Fantastic access to metro, RER, and bus. All the things I love best about neighborhood Paris were across the street at Rue Daguerre. The staff was terrific and the best thing about the stay. I wanted to mail the staff Christmas cards and gratuities I hadn't been able to give them before I left, but haven't gotten a response from anyone about who was working the desk shifts for the days we were there. I made sure the hotel had an elevator seeing that my daughter needed a wheelchair for the trip. The site doesn't tell you that there is a flight of stairs and then additional steps to get to the elevator. The site absolutely should specify that the elevator is NOT handicap accessible! So the lovely staff came to our rescue every time, hauling the wheelchair up and down the stairs while my daughter and I struggled up behind (I use the wheelchair as a walker to aid my replaced hip), bless them. The site should have alerted us to what we faced in getting to the elevator we both needed.

At first glance, we were unsure about our stay here, but that turned around quickly. The staff were so incredibly kind and helpful; they encouraged our attempts at French, gave wonderful help on getting around and were always attentive. They took a lot of pride in being professional and in their hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the room was nice and quiet. What sets this hotel apart is the access to metro and buses. It is right on all the major lines, so getting around was quick and easy. We lived being right across the street from the Catacombs. We had a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower, and loved watching it light up at night. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

Minor things-the corners in the bathroom were a little dirty, the shower is quite small and the water pressure was quite low and didn't clear the taps and the room itself is a bit more run down than in the photos. We also would have loved outlets on both sides of the bed. Also the balcony wasn't really accessible as there was scaffolding on the facade.

I stayed in room 31. The hotel was very nice, and clean, my room had a fantastic high view of the street below with two huge windows I could fully open where I could see nearby restaurants. Really great view. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with fresh towels. The staff were lovely and very friendly laughing and joking greeting me with "Ahhh Room 31" when I got back in after sightseeing. I don't speak French but the staff were very patient. It was a very enjoyable stay and I would definitely stay with them again in future. Paul.

Nothing to say here to be honest, it was a very positive experience. Absolutely no complaints!

The location is great because is close to the main train stations in Paris. The staff was very friendly and the room was neat. Has plenty of great food options around. We definitely will stay again in the hotel!

The room was kind of small for three people. Wifi was not the best so we ended up using our data. The hotel has an elevator for the floors that goes to the room, however, to reach the front desk floor has steep stairs, just in case you have a lot of luggage like our case It can be inconvenient.

Nice room, lovely Parisien view from our window. Great location, across the road from Rue Daguerre and right next to the RER to CDG airport.

The steep, narrow flight of stairs up to reception before you reach the lift was a bit of a shock, given we were traveling with lots of luggage, but worth it for the location.

Excellent location for all amenities, buses, metro, restaurants,. You don't need to go far for any thing. Luckily we were on the 7th floor, so we had a nice view and were away from street noise.

The long staircase without an elevator to get to the actual hotel is very inconvenient. Had I known this I would not recommend staying here if you have any mobility issues. Plus the bathroom was minuscule in size. Maybe it's ok for one person , but for two it is much too small. Plus no wash cloths provided.

I'm so pleased I chose Hotel du Lion that I couldn't ask for more during my stay in Paris. Excepcional value for your money in one of the world's most expensive cities. Very welcoming staff and the owner, monsieur Nicolas, is a super host. The location one block away from Denfert Rochereau is simply perfect to go wherever - and I really mean that - you want in Paris. Certainly that'll be my choice next time out I'm in Paris.

There ain't something I really didn't like.

Our first room had no a/c and Paris was in a heatwave. We had a very noisy fan which vibrated around the floor. We got very little sleep that night.Reception told us that new fans have been ordered. We moved room for the second night, paid and extra €20 and got very quiet a/c

All the staff were so helpful and friendly- you can tell this is a really well-run hotel. The room was very clean and was well cleaned daily. The shower was good and you can stretch your arms out in the bathroom- not a given in Paris! The street is loud, but the windows are very well sound-proofed, so I had no problems sleeping (not sure what it would be like in summer) All in all, a really positive experience- I would go back anytime!

It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but there's certainly no shortage of places in the immediate vicinity. I found the price quite high for a single room, but the quality was excellent, and I fear this probably counts as a reasonable price these days.
