The staff is very nice and we had multiple lovely chats with the mom and daughter who run this hotel. And got some very useful tips. The location was absolutely perfect for us: it's right near major points of interest, close to the historic center, close to major sub and rail ways, lot's of good restaurants close as well. the hotel is cosy and very inviting. the room is small but has everything you'd need if you just need a place to rest, and freshen up breakfast is very nice with fresh breads of various types, fresh drinks of various kinds

nothing really, except maybe for a small bit low ceiling in one of the hallways due it being an old building. It is marked, i just wasn't quite awake yet

This turned out better than I expected. It was an ideal location and didn’t know the area. Close to public transport but for me I was able to walk everywhere ( I’m a huge walker) and it’s right near Galleria Lafayette which was a fun surprise and also close to Champs-Élysées area. I walked past the presidents city home on many occasions as he’s a neighbor! Very safe area with cute and delicious restaurants and a boulangerie, crepe place and tea shop on the street. I loved that it’s a very small street attached to a much larger center. The bathroom was a tad awkward in that the door can’t shut if you are using the sink due to the layout but it did not bother me. The best part is the staff. There are quite a few that run the place and they could not be nicer and more helpful and for a solo traveller they made so welcome!

No answer here.

We truly enjoyed this quaint little hotel in the 8th arr. We were greeted by the owner and she was very warm, welcoming and full of advice. Her staff were kind and always available to answer questions. They genuinely seemed to care about their patrons because they made sure to give safety tidbits, including noting where the US Embassy was, even noting the French Ministry of Interior building was around the corner. The owner provided information about areas especially if out late at night. You felt their warmth as they tried to get to know their patrons in conversation. Were full of recommendations when asked. The hotel is situated in a fantastic but yet quiet spot. We loved it. We were able to access everything very easily by foot. Breakfast was nice to have. Our room was simple, clean and I thoroughly enjoyed the mushy soft pillows, because they are exactly how she likes them. Slept well each night. Free WiFi. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this spot to others. Thank you for being such hospitable hosts to first time honeymooners in Paris.

No elevators. To carry heavy luggage up the stairs was not enjoyable. The shower door was awkward and a bit short in length. It certainly didn't stop the floors from getting soaked every shower, no matter how hard we tried not to. A little moldy on the upper shower walls. There was no coffee/tea or a complimentary bottled water offered in the rooms. Not enough crepes. We only got to enjoy them one time because they were only served once and we only received one crepe each. Same for the flap jacks. They were delish!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to write one after my recent stay at this wonderful hotel. The experience truly exceeded all my expectations. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and everything was well-maintained. The location was also fantastic—within walking distance to iconic attractions like Palais Garnier, Place de la Concorde, Tuileries Garden, and the Louvre Museum. It made exploring Paris incredibly convenient. What really made our stay memorable, however, was the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the owner and her daughter, who greeted us with genuine smiles and made us feel instantly at home. Throughout our stay, they were kind, respectful, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. They frequently asked how my parents were enjoying the city and offered thoughtful recommendations and tips about Paris. Their hospitality and personal touches truly made a difference. This hotel may not have luxury branding, but the heart and warmth behind its service made it one of the most pleasant stays I’ve had in any city. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris.

We had the best experience with Hôtel La Sanguine! even before our trip our questions and comments were replied swifly with a kindness and ready to help attitude. It was even more so when we got to the hotel. The receiptonist that day was Olivia, even though the hotel did not have an elevator, but she noticed us coming in on ground floor entrance with lots of luggages, and she came right down to help. then since it was still early morning and too early for check in, she and her staff offered us fresh coffee and pastries, we totally appreciated it. then as soon as someone check out, they quickly cleaned and prepared our room for us, so we can go in to rest. The Service is just unbelievable!, every one was specially kind and welcoming!

Location of the hotel is great! the area felt very safe, close walking distance to shopping and attractions.

The staff was really nice and helpfull and the street is calm and silent - yet very central in Paris. The restaurants close to the hotel were great, and there was a small supermarket really close as well. My room (for 1 person) was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The hotel is very old and the furnitures too - but I guess you can call it "charming". The bathroom was more up to date, which I appriciated.

The lock to my door was tricky and the first time I tried to leave my room I had to call the resepction and ask them to help me out. It was not easy to get out of the room. There is no elevator. However the staff helped me carrying my heavy suitcase.

It was just perfect!!! The staff welcomed me in a very friendly way and stayed like this till the last day. They were super helpful, kind and always ready to make my stay the best possible. Breakfest was big and really tasty - French style - and coffee was available 24/7, which was great. Location is perfect! Just right to Louvre and Concorde. You can reach all of the most significant landmarks by walk and no need to take metro (although it’s super close). Room was Very Charmzing and comfortable. Price was great. I will definitely come back here. It is located in very quiet street and in one of the safest neighbourhoods in Paris (as it is close to Palace Elise). Thank You La Sanguine for making my very visit in Paris so special! Merci

The staff was exceptionally friendly, they ask if you want something to drink while checking in and are very interested to know what you are planning to do. They will also give you lots of recommendations if you ask for it. Also fluent in English so no awkward conversations in French. Even though the hotel building is quite old the bathrooms are very up to date with an amazing shower. The location is very nice in the city center in a very secure location which was important for me as a solo female traveler. Definitely would book here again.

There is no elevator in the building so not very suitable for people who have problems walking up/down stairs.

The location is excellent, easy walking distance to l'Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre. Champs Elysee etc. It's a family run business and the staff were so welcoming and helpful, and happy to help in any way they can. I would highly recommend - very comfortable and clean (I didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that). Excellent English spoken as well, which is great if your French dries up!

Only two things to be aware of, bathroom is small, but there's plenty of hot water; and the reception is on the first floor and the bedrooms on the floors above and there is no lift. But they offer to help with bags, and even carried up a cup of (free) tea for me too.
