This has to be the cutest, and probably oldest, hotel I have stayed in. Checking in was easy and speedy, and we were shown to our room, not just left to find it ourselves. If you like quirky, you will love this hotel. Showers in the bedroom, toilets in cupboards, hidden second bedrooms, unexpected balconies.....the list goes on. There is limited private parking The hotel is situated very handily for a stroll to the restaurant area, and there is history everywhere you look.

The parking is very limited, and some of the spaces are small. There is aircon in the living room, but not in the bedrooms.

The location was great, within a few minutes walk of the Old Town. The owner was very hospitable and helpful. We had to leave early the following morning and we had a breakfast delivered the night before. It was absolutely wonderful! The room was large and incredibly comfortable. The only point to note is that if you drive a large car it can be tricky navigating the entrance and small car park. Having said all that, parking on site is a bonus and the owner was very helpful in navigating us into the car park. It’s definitely recommended to pre-book the car park if you want a space as it’s very limited. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.

This hotel is really a real surprise and mystery experience. The location is amazing - in the old city centre, in a monument building from 16th century, on a narrow tiny cobbled street, a couple of minutes walk from the main streets of Troyes. You come to a locked gate with no signage or visible hotel entrance/reception. Only a mysterious note on a house's gate, telling you to call a certain (French) number (for me it was an international call, so I was initially quite annoyed). A super friendly voice tells you he'll be around in 5 minutes. In this time, two more cars with hotel's guests stopped behind me, as confused about it all as us. The locals, in the meanwhile, trying to pass through the narrow street with their cars, were giving us nasty looks for blocking half of the street (we all parked half on the pavement). The manager then arrived in a run down pick up truck with a broken mirror, and expertly manoeuvred in front of this little queue of cars in another surprising development. When he opened a gate, a tiny medieval courtyard appeared. It was super cute, with a little sitting area with garden sets and plants. Also somewhat hilarious because when you see it you don't believe you can get in with the car. You need to basically put your car perpendicularly on the street and possibly turn the mirrors in to get through the gate, though the friendly manager very confidently directs you... (there is another bigger parking 200m away, free after 7pm). We took it all in our stride, because it was really quite a magical place at the end, a little quirky and scruffy but special. The apartment was small and wonky but cosy and convenient, the bed was very comfortable, with good quality bedding. There is a library of old books near the reception. The manager was really so friendly, in what seemed like such a genuine and patient way. A highly unusual but nice experience.

See above.

Friendly & very helpful staff, very clean & great location for centre of the old village Parking available on site Beautiful breakfast basket delivered to room each morning

Very tight parking both to gain access to hotel & once inside but very experienced staff guide you & assist. In our apartment we had a very annoying step up to bathroom & toilet which needs to be extended to where the hallway narrows as you always trip up or down it even knowing it’s there as placed just where the door ends, but your eyes take you to narrowing of hallway. Not enough cutlery for 4 people, no bread knife.

The property is historic, with lots of original features in the rooms. The beds were very comfortable with nice bed linen. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, with each room having its own shower and toilet, which was good. Compact kitchen area in a cupboard (sounds weird, but was a really good use of the available space), same as the fridge in a cupboard.

Property needs a bit of an overhaul to improve it overall. I understand old properties will come with limitations but one bedroom cupboard had clear signs of a leak from the ceiling, with container on the floor to catch the drips. It's not enough to put you off staying, but ideally needs dealing with.

A beautiful medieval Restored building in the heart of the historic centre in Troyes. The room was very space and well equipped . Pierre the owner and his staff were so accommodating and pleasant that nothing was too much trouble. The private courtyard was a lovely place we could use for our lunch and private parking available upon request . We most certainly will be returning on our next trip . Many thanks until next time! The situation was superb - directly in the old quarter with access to historical centre. The breakfast was lovely - a pannier delivered outside your suite. The rooms were equipped with cooking area and a dining area, with an outside eating area too. Brilliant, and exceptional for the price.

There is a cramped courtyard for about 4 cars which is quite difficult to squeeze into unless you have a small car Also, quite difficult to find. This was the second time we have stayed at the hotel, so I knew where it was. But the first time it was much more difficult to find with very little, if any, outside signage .

The location is in the old town so don't expect a big hotel sign outside, we had to drive twice to find it, but once found it is very central in old town. Room apartment is excellent and if you arrive before 8pm you can park inside the private locked courtyard.

One way system in the old town meant slow going at first and we missed the location having to repeat the one way loop. We arrived after 8pm so missed the private parking but there was a delivery spot the owner said we could use right next to courtyard door so was very convenient.

It was a privilege to stay in such a typically french historic building. The hotel was modernised sympathetically whilst honouring the integrity of the original imperfect medieval architecture.

There was nothing not to like. The washing facilities were modern, the beds were comfortable, the hosts were charming and helpful, some of the rooms were faithful in appearance to appartments of the 16th century and looked down onto secluded courtyards.

The historical ambiance and the location. Beautiful charm. The beds were superb and really comfortable. The very convenient and secure car parking. The breakfast basket was a lovely touch.

We were unable to open the windows in the main bedroom, plus the (very old and quaint) door was paper thin. The furniture around the apartment was somewhat an assortment of mismatched items - no issue from our side, but just a missed opportunity! The car parking was very tight, but the team did a brilliant job in getting us in and out!
