Beautiful character house with lovely pool, grounds and games areas. We felt exceptionally lucky to have the experience of living in a chateau type environment.

Staying here was more like being in an airbnb (without access to kitchen or fridge) than a hotel. There was no reception, or team of staff on hand to help - had to knock at their private kitchen if we needed anything and our rooms were not serviced during our stay. This level of chaotic informality didn’t bother us too much but it might not suit others. We also flagged to the owner that having no easy to find hall lighting at the main entrance was potentially a health and safety hazard.

The breakfast was excellent. We would particularly like to thank Sebastian and Nicholas for their kindness, hospitality and help with arranging unscheduled meals, medicine for our daughter etc. which was very much appreciated. In particular, we would like to thank Sebastian for helping us sort out problems with our original hire car which burst a tyres, phoning the hire car company to get a replacement hire car and driving us to the garage where our previous hire car had to be towed so we could supervise the collection of the car by the hire car company.

The chateau's rooms are comfortable and tastefully furnished but require some modernisation. In particular, the provision of a dinner service would be appreciated as we had to arrange taxis every evening to Saumur for dinner.

This was our second visit; once again this little chateau, the warm welcome and attention to detail shown by Sebastian and his staff cast its spell on us. We love the park, the space, the character of the room (a different room this year, but just as lovely) its decor, the antique furniture, the huge windows for natural ventilation. The friendly informality and lack of strict rules (other than the sensible request not to throw anything stupid into the toilet!) creates an atmosphere of trust: you don't feel intimidated, just welcomed. The new swimming pool is longer, a rectangle instead of a bean shape, with a sun bathing ledge, smart modern safety cover (which scrolls away under the water) and has a bigger paved surrounding area with plenty of space for seating, sunbathing and reading. I gather there are plans to extend the terrace into a sunny corner among the roses. Once again we picnicked on the pretty garden tables on the front lawn, and once again Sebastian couldn't have been kinder, offering seat cushions, refrigeration for any food and wine we bought. We enjoyed the breakfasts too, both beautifully presented with home made cherry jam and a French version of marmalade to go with croissants, baguette and charcuterie, washed down with freshly squeezed juice and good coffee. The resident cats were friendly too. Chateau de Naze is brilliantly located if you want to buy wine - plenty of producers all along the Loire - and, for us, an easy drive to Caen to take the ferry home to the UK.

Incredible chateau, best part was having breakfast outside overlooking the castle.

It was very hot and there was no AC nor a fan. We could not open the windows at night because of the mosquitoes. This could be easily solved by offering guests a fan in the room.

I charming old chateau in a very quiet area, with a wonderful swimming pool. Perfect for visiting nearby chateaux.

The paths around the garden could have been made more inviting by having them mown.

The Château is beautiful, the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate your needs.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. There were a few things we would have to ask for like, drinking water in the room, milk for tea in the room etc, but if we asked they were happy to help. It wasn't a problem for us.

Beautiful location and amazing rooms with a peaceful tranquility. Clean and easy going.

I think the hosts are doing well, but if I suggest they can improve the verity of breakfast, since they have amazing garden that they can use to show case the place with extra vegetables and fruits like using that apples and other fruits.

Characterful room with high ceiling and plenty of space. We liked the antique details - the huge armoire, pretty chest of drawers, little writing desk. Even though we arrived during a heatwave, it was possible to sleep well, closing shutters to keep out the sun by day, and opening up at night to harvest the cooler air. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. They accommodated my husband's dietary needs; they let us picnic in the evenings in the shade of the garden, they even chilled our wine for us. We felt like part of the family. The pool is lovely - deep and long enough to swim properly, as well as to have fun or simply cool off. We wanted to buy wine, and really appreciated Sebastian's recommendations. The resident dog, a beautiful golden retriever, was very friendly indeed. There was even a line on which to dry swim towels and kit. I'd say our stay was pretty near perfect.

Sebastien and Celine, our hosts, were so warm and gracious. They went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed, gave us information about sites to see and restaurant suggestions. The chateau was amazing! The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious. We felt like we were royalty! The location was perfect for making short day trips to places we wanted to see in the Loire Valley. The town of Saumur (only 5 min. away) had many wonderful French restaurants. Sebastien prepared a delicious breakfast for us each morning and served it so beautifully in the dining room. We definitely would stay with them again if we return to this region.
