All the staff i spoken with were very nice, spoke English which helped as i speak zero German. I liked that towels were provided daily, the wifi was good which helped plan my activities for the following day and the shower was hot. Straneros pizza down the road, very very good, wedding in general has some amazing food places! I quite liked starting my day with a walk to the train station 10-15 minutes, location is great Hangers, safe, wardrobe bedding etc provided and room was cleaned daily. Late check-in very helpful for me as i arrived to Berlin later in the evening.

I didn’t necessarily dislike it but the bathroom was shared, was just unexpected. but i had no issues and it was clean.

Room was spacious, clean. Breakfast tasty, staff was nice, nice atmosphere. Overall - good value for money. Definitely recommend.

1 bathroom for 4 rooms. Only payed street parking. Can be challenging to find a parking space in case of late arrival.

Nice location in a bit of an inner yard, meaning you won't get the outside noise much :) great value for price paid! Comfortable beds!

Going to 5th floor may feel like a hassle to someone. Keep that in mind. The walls are a bit thin so if you have someone in neighboring rooms taking a shower - that may be heard :) Although location is actually quite nice, some may find it difficult to walk a bit longer distances, especially if coming back to hotel after a long night out. But none of this is concerning or bad, if you know what you're going to Berlin. :)

It's a hostel experience with a surprising twist. Although I booked a room for 2 adults, it turned out to be a spacious room with 4 single beds, giving my friend and me plenty of space to move around. I was expecting a typical small European hotel room, so I was pleasantly surprised to have such ample space here. The beds were very comfortable—much better than my first hostel experience where the cushions were worn out. At Steps Hotel, the cushions were in excellent condition, which made for a great night’s sleep. We also purchased the breakfast option and loved it, especially the freshly baked croissants! Honestly, I enjoyed these croissants more than any I’ve had at bakeries in Paris!

The room floors are quite squeaky! As someone who hates disturbing others, I felt a bit self-conscious just walking around, worried that I might be bothering other guests. So, apologies to anyone who heard me! Like most hostels in Europe, this one doesn’t have an elevator. I usually don’t mind, but having just run the Berlin Marathon, the stairs were a special kind of challenge afterward—if you know what I mean! Haha.

The staff were very friendly, and helpful! The accommodation was really clean, and the setting was quirky. We booked for 3 people and still got a large room for a reasonable price. Very tasty coffee, and the staff even stored our luggage while we went out shopping on our departure date. There was an open courtyard in the middle, which was nice to sit out in. It was also a short drive, and cheap in a taxi from Berlin HBF train station. Great value for money.

Some of the beds were more comfortable than others, because some mattresses were not secure within the frame, and had us slipping off the bed. This was not a major issue for us, as we had extra beds. All in all, the positives outweighed the negatives, and we would definitely stay again.

The apartment was clean, had comfortable beds, and located in a quiet neighborhood. We were grateful to find a more affordable accommodation for 5 people. The staff were very kind as well throughout the stay. The kitchen in our room was a big bonus for us so that we could cook meals (had fridge, stovetop, oven, pans, and kitchen essentials).

Not big problems for us, but something to note for others that it may be a bigger impact: We were on the 5th floor with no elevator and each time we walked to the bus/metro or larger grocery stores, it took 10 min or longer to get there.

The staff at the check-in counter and at breakfast service was super friendly and multilingual :) The neighbourhood is full of pretty old buildings; the "steps", stairs, that gave the hotel its name, also have their charm, if you are ok with taking them up to the 4th floor as I am :) Really excellent price for the conditions, the room was quite compact, but cozy, with comfy clean bed and with a pleasant view into a cute quiet courtyard. The only thing: get the ear plugs, otherwise you can be woken up by neighbours in the early morning (because of the wooden floors you can hear the noises). Apart from that, everything is great :) Thank you!

We had the small apartment on the 5th floor. It was really good, spacious, well equipped. The small kitchen also has everything, you can even cook if you so please. Staff was really nice all four people we met during our stay. On the first and last day we left our bags in the storage room, this was also no problem at all. It is a 5-6 minute walk (maybe 8, if you prefer to walk slower) to the nearest subway station (you can choose from two lines) and from there you are in the centre in 15-20 mins. So location is excellent as well.

Setting the water temperature in the shower is a little tricky, plus hot water stops coming at unexpected moments.

The location is good, not too far from the U6 and several buses, as well as a number of restaurants. The staff I met were pleasant and spoke English well (which I appreciate since my German consists of a few words). I didn't take breakfast so can't comment on that. My room overlooked a courtyard and was quiet. The shower was comfortable and the room was nicely cleaned.

Oddly, there were no "do not disturb" signs to hang on the doorknob if you didn't want to have your room cleaned or be interrupted. There was no lamp on the desk table, no television, no refrigerator. The curtains are not light-blocking and there are no roll-down blinds, unusual in a hotel. When I was there the weather was cool, so there was no need for air conditioning, but if the weather were hot I didn't see a/c and so it might be unpleasant in the room. There doesn't appear to be an elevator.

I enjoyed my stay here. I found Steps to be a comfortable and relaxing place in a low-key residential neighborhood. It's about 20-30 minutes from the centre of Berlin by metro (two stations are nearby, though Seestrasse is probably most useful) and the last part on foot. I enjoyed the local vibe of the neighborhood around the hotel which was a nice contrast to the more austere and touristy atmosphere of the central city. The staff I met here were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and the courtyard looks like a lovely place to relax in warmer weather. As this was my first time in Berlin I was out a lot, but I could easily have spent way more time lounging around in the bar and courtyard in the hotel. Hopefully another time soon...
