-Breakfast was just perfect! -Staff at the hotel are polite & always smiling :) When we had a problem with the room, they were so helpful & they changed it for us immediately. -The location is so convenient if you are traveling as it is right infront of the central station. -The reception & bar area is spacious, & the hotel offers cake & tea/coffee everyday until 6 pm which is lovely! -L’Occitane products in the bathroom, my favorite part.

-Some rooms facing the main road of the central station could get noisy at night especially on weekends. -Towels were changed everyday but they didn’t make the bed except twice during our 10 day stay which wasn’t very pleasant. -I didn’t like that there was no safe box in our room but it’s downstairs at the reception & you take the key with you, not so convenient to be honest.

Friends told us this was an undesirable area and would not be a good place to stay BUT it was fabulous! Smallish old hotel across the road from the main train station walking distance along the river to town, plentiful breakfast with eggs, sausages, fruit, salad ,smoked salmon, cheeses cereals...anything you might want was there on the buffet! Staff were friendly, minibar stocked with water, a beer, Pepsi each day. The cart was left in the hallway each morning with bottled water so you could help yourself. We asked for a quiet room.It was on the third floor and very quiet. Coffee, cakes, fruit all provided free in the lobby throughout the day. The L'Occitane toiletries were a lovely bonus too...and a bath to ease aching joints!

Really nothing!

The hotel is a beautiful classical hotel. a fine example of how they were from days gone by! Across the road from the main station. Exterior beautiful. Lounge near reception is grand ... I could sit work, or just relax, and have a cup of tea/coffee, along with cake/fruit which was always available. Bedroom large as was bathroom - with double sinks & a lovely bathtub/shower.. Bed very comfortable. Staff at reception courteous, friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately i had a huge night, so missed breakfast... But the abovementioned cake, coffee and apples were there for me!! The price was unbelievable for all this... A hidden gem!!

The hotel was a very short distance from train station, which was very convenient as I arrived late in the evening. Not the best area around the train station, but the hotel is lovely, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel has some old-world charm, but the room we stayed in seemed freshly renovated and was stylishly decorated. Would definitely stay there again. The free mini bar was a nice little bonus, and I appreciated that there was a kettle for tea and coffee, not necessarily a given in hotels in Germany.

It would have been nice if the hotel bar had been open to have a drink in the evening. It's an elegant space and felt underused, although I understand that it may just have been temporarily closed.

Great Location, we walked to the Old City in 20 mins and we could have used a train to get there in quicker time. Parking came in two choices, we could have used the hotel parking lot (a few doors from main Hotel door), but we had already parked our car in the underground Public Parking garage only 2 mins from Hotel.

The shower consisted of a very high bath with a curtain. I took a fall getting in to it, so advise to be extra careful. The Hotel room was extra hot even with the window open, as like many places in Europe there is no AC. By end of June these cities get extra warm.

This was our second time staying here. Our first check in experience was better (we didn't get offered the welcome champagne on arrival for the second stay even though it was available) and what we had requested in the room wasn't carried out correctly, however reception soon rectified that. We got the same large double room which was nice and it was perfect for what we needed. Reception staff were pleasant upon check out and we were able to store our luggage at the hotel for the day which was appreciated.

Breakfast was a little haphazard, the staff were not friendly and the atmosphere because of the staff was not relaxed, it was as if you were being monitored the entire time. They kept touching the food which was off putting and not the most hygienic. The staff also started clearing away some of the breakfast options before the breakfast window ended, it did not encourage you to relax and enjoy and totally put me off to the point I left rather than finishing my breakfast as it was so uncomfortable. The dining room itself was functional, but dated. I wish we wouldn't have booked breakfast on our second time here (we booked room only on our first visit) as it did spoil our overall experience of an otherwise lovely hotel.

Hotel with an old-world charm. The staff was great, and our room was ready much before check-in time, and they let us in immediately. The complimentary drinks in the minbar were great, and they offered an open tea, coffee, and cake session for all guests from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, which was very nice. The location is just next to the train station, and the FlixBus station is also within a few minutes' walking distance. This makes it an excellent location for travellers using either or both of these modes of transportation, which made it easy for us.

The size of the room was nice, spacious. The bed was large and the so was the bathroom. I enjoyed the free mini bar offer although I just took water. There was a kettle and some nice complimentary teas in the room which I also appreciated. The staff were direct but hospitable. The breakfast and coffee were great and the location was super convenient since I had to catch a train the following morning.

The beds were a little soft but still really comfortable. The bath didn't really work - the bath faucet only provided cold water unfortunately. While the shower pressure wasn't great the toiletries were very nice.

This is a very good hotel. Spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast, really comfortable beds, great location (near the train station, so naturally be careful), and the staff are really, really lovely. As a family of five, we thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay. The free mini bar and free coffee and cakes in the lobby were a lovely surprise! Highly recommend.

Perhaps the location isn't ideal because there's a lot of junkies around etc., but it's like any big city - you just have to be vigilant and aware of your surroundings. Uber is perfect for getting around, for this reason. However, the tram is almost right outside the door which is extremely cheap and convenient too!

The hotel has a great location, just 50 metres from the Central Station (on the good side away from the drug infested areas). It is very stylish with an early 20th century atmosphere and some careful renovations. It is clean and looks like a well run hotel without too many frills. Rooms are quiet and of good standard.

I've been a regular guest for about 15 years. While I still like it, I can see that it has somewhat declined in standard. The breakfast buffet used to be exceptional, it is no longer quite as good - still very good compared to other hotels. The free minibar is now very basic (2 bottles of water, 1 coke, 1 beer). It would be great, if the hotel could go back to old standards. When travelling in summer, the absence of air conditioning in rooms can be a problem.
