Good location. Helpful staff even though we were Very Disappointed that Booking .com did Not reserve a room with a river view as stated in our original confirmation. The view would have made a HUGE difference. We looked on to a small interior courtyard. We called Booking. Com and sat on hold for 15 minutes. DO NOT use Booking.com. !!

The view we were promised by Booking . Com was not available. The hotel itself does not guarantee a river view room and the difference is Huge. It's all in the luck of the draw. We saw 2 beautiful view rooms while staff were cleaning. Booking.com confined rooms with river view on our original booking. DISHONEST practice. Don't use them.

Beautiful location decorated in historic charm! The lounge area was absolutely lovely to relax and have a drink and plan our activities for the next day! Location was awesome! Walking distance to everything in the Altstadt! Transit with the buses to get to and from the train station was easy and affordable! We also used the train in the Altstadt that was walking distance! We really enjoyed our river view from our room and walks along river and the philosophersweg hike!

We liked everything about the property! The water from the shower got the floor wet but perhaps just needs a tighter seal! Would have loved a coffee machine in the room but they prepared and nice tray when we asked with pretty china cups!

LOVED the location next to the bridge and river! Everything was in walking distance for us that we wanted to see. The exterior of the building was so cute and exactly what we were hoping for in Heidelberg! Cleanliness and maintenance of rooms were excellent. Grateful they could place all of our 3 rooms next to each other.

Needed extra pillows, and requested non-feather pillows because they flatten so easily. The mattress was also really firm, and I woke up several times from it (but hubby did fine with it). Not a fan of the room decor, and orange color accents. Would be nicer and more fitting of the location to have beautiful artwork of Heidelberg or classic art on the walls, and softer pastel colors, instead of modern art.

The moment I entered the hotel, I knew I had made the perfect choice by selecting this one. The location is just in front of the Old Bridge and the Neckar River, and the reception team welcomed me very warmly. I had never been to Heidelberg before, but since it was a holiday, I decided to extend my business trip in Frankfurt and come here as a birthday gift to myself. In the morning, when I went down for breakfast, a lady asked for my room number. When I gave it to her, she said, “Well, we have a special table reserved for you.” I was confused at first, but then I saw the table beautifully decorated with flowers, candles, and a “Happy Birthday” letter from the hotel team. It truly made my day! They even left some little gifts for me. It was such a lovely gesture that made me feel very special. I would like to thank the Hotel Holländer Hof team once again, and yes—I will definitely come back and stay here again!

Overall our room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were a little too flat but we made it work. The bathroom was functional, but small. There’s a nice size elevator which fit the two of us and our oversized luggage. The Breakfast Buffet was wonderful and varied and staff couldn’t be friendlier. The hotel is conveniently located in the Old Town and within walking distance to restaurants and the castle. We had a river view which was gorgeous. This hotel is my go-to whenever I’m in Heidelberg. Highly recommend.

Just a note about the pillows.

The hotel is amazing. Great room, great staff, perfect location and good value. If you’re lucky enough to get room 340 you have a perfect view of the river as well as the castle. Very helpful staff and attentive to every detail. Two options for breakfast, either the full buffet (which we did the first morning) or the continental (which we did the next two mornings). Either option is good but the continental was more than enough. If you’re going to the Christmas markets you’re less than a 3-4 min walk away, and there are very good restaurants all around. Well stay here again!

The only complaint was the heavy duvet on the bed was just that, a bit too heavy. But a cracked open window solved the issue.

This beautiful place is a classic! It feels a bit like stepping back in time, to a bygone era when hotel staff cherished their visitors and embraced them with joyous enthusiasm and dignity. And the vintage look and feel of everything matches that aesthetic. The sumptuous breakfast in their beautiful dining room was a great way to start the day. The gorgeous and inviting lobby lounge area was a great place to hunker down with a book and a glass of wine or beer. I had a great view of the Alte Brücke bridge from my window.

Convenient location, stunning view, and very clean! The staff were friendly and the most fluent English staff we’ve encountered in Germany, and we stayed at three stars and above hotels in Munich, Nuremberg, and Frankfurt. The bathroom is well ventilated, so much so that hand washed laundry will dry overnight.

The elevator did not reach our floor. The room floor is slanted, with a loose floorboard under the carpet. You can hear the opening and closing of the doors of neighboring rooms. The hotel room did not offer self-serve welcome water. You get one glass upon arrival, so be prepared to pay for mini bar bottled water, venture out to shop at supermarket, or drink tap water.

The rooms were clean, spacious, and featured a balcony with a stunning view of the river, making the stay an unforgettable experience. The pleasant surprises continued with a quick and personalized response to my need to change my stay dates due to a strike at the airport, showcasing a rare level of flexibility and care. In conclusion, from my extensive experience visiting many hotels around the world, I give the City Partner Hotel Holländer Hof a full rating of 10 out of 10 in all categories: cleanliness, comfort, service, and location. The property is amazing. It’s an old hotel with so much history but updated nicely. The people running it are the nicest people willing to help. They are great communicators. Best location. Simply beautiful. There isn’t anything I didn’t like about the hotel or it’s people

The only thing I wish was for parking on the premises . But they can’t help that. Prime location = no place or grounds to park. That’s with all hotels in the area. Fortunately you do get a discount for parking in a garage. You can’t fault them for this
